well I hope they both help you. I didn't know Wellbutrin could cause seizures. I know it helped my friend when he quit smoking.

I have been depressed since I was young and a few years ago was diagnosed with bi-polar (major highs and lows). I have had horrible experiences with drugs from side effects ranging from shakiness, headaches, weight gain, ect. It almost stopped me from taking drugs at all but I decided to try again because I just can't function without them. What I am on now is great. They make me a little tired but thats about all. It's really worth it. I'm taking Lithium and Depakote for the bi-polar and I consider them wonder drugs (although Depakote can have possible serious side effects). I'm also taking Valium for my anxiety and Zyprexa for sleep although it is usually prescribed as an anti-psychotic. I hope this helped a little, glad you are getting some help. If you want to ask me anything go ahead, like I said I have had experience with this for years.

Ruby, Depakote can make your hair fall out. I wish somebody had told me that when I took it for migraines. I never went bald or anything though.

They tried to put me on depakote and lamictal...but I said no more. I am done with drugs and the pharm companies. I have always felt depressed my whole life or just not quite normal and after my grandma died when i was 9 I developed panic attacks but they went away. I tried zoloft at age 18 and stopped at 19 and I swear it made me crazier than I really was...maybe its b/c SSRi's and possibly bipolar people do not mix very well. Then after my brother died last year, I got panic disorder again but this time it came back with a vengeance...and i tried zoloft and paxil again. I agree with greenidlady that paxil is evil! I had the worst side effects from these two drugs, and then the dr told me oh i think its cause your bipolar. Maybe I am bipolar...I know for sure I have an anxiety disorder...but the only think I take now off and on is klonopin and I have never had any side effects or addiction problems with it.

Just my opinion of the whole situation...that sometimes the drugs can make problems worse than they really are and honestly the pharm companies do not know the severity of some of these drugs. No one even knows enough about the brain y et. However, I know there is some people out there that have honestly been helped by them. I am not one of them so I am trying to get rid of it through diet, exercise, eating organic, meditation, yoga...etc...It seems to help, but I think I am honestly just going to have to wait it out and hope my sickness goes away. :(
