View Full Version : Stupidest Song I've Heard in a SC

Well in the spirit of other threads such as "worst dance ever", "best dance ever", "tackiest stripper move", etc., I've decided to share my experience last week of what I thought was the stupidest song I've heard in a SC, and see what everyone else thinks.

Other than hardcore rap, I generally like almost any music played in SCs. However, I expect it to be either reasonably modern, or very classic rock. Last week I was heading into VIP song no. 3 with my ATF, when I heard the three tremelo entry chords to "Crimson and Clover" by Tommy James & the Shondells. WTF I asked? My gal said there was a new dancer there who danced to this song every day on stage. I guess oldies have their place, but bubble gum pop from 1968??? Maybe some folks like this stuff, but I have dubbed it "The Stupidest Song I've Ever Heard in a SC!"

I did explain to my ATF about how every kid that had an electric guitar in 1968 wanted an amp with two things: tremelo and reverb...., just so they could play Crimson and Clover. Somehow I grew past it......

cri-i-i-i-i-mso-o-on and clo-o-ov-er, o-o-o-v-e-e-r and o-o-o-v-e-e-r..
ACKKKKK! There, I feel much better. :D

So, what's the stupidest song you've ever heard in a strip club?

I got a dance last Friday night to "Chop Suey" by System of a Down.

"I dont' think you trust...in...my...self-righteous suicide..."

Great song but terrible for a dance. Especially from a black dancer. She gave me a look like "WTF is this?"

The next song was Ludacris and I would SWEAR her dance was 150% better.

And yeah, the DJ DID play System of a Down and Ludacris back to back.

"The Weight" by The Band, because it's probably the best-known "Cingular song" and seems like a long ad now. Plus the lyrics are deeply allegorical, so you're always thinking "WTF does THAT mean?"

But damn, I miss the girl who danced to it. :-\

But it's got a great rock beat. I personally like hearing it on the club sound system and know dancers who can do good stage sets to it.

The worst song I've ever heard was a country & western song by some guy who I don't even know. I just remember going from OutKast to Godsmack to this C & W song and it just killed the entire mood. One of the dancers was complaining loudly about how bad it was.

I once heard the song "Butterfly Kisses"...it's a slow country song about a dad tucking his little girl in bed, saying their prayers and giving butterfly kisses... As I'm rubbing my ass on some guys lap..WTF?!! Sooo not right!

Some might say that its befitting the SC environment, but "The Whistle Song" (aka "Blow My Whistle Bitch") by the DJ Aligator Project wins hands down. That song is about as sexy as a gonzo porn flick.

You've got to be kidding.... that totally beats Crimson & Clover as a stupid SC song. I think every wedding I've been to in the last several years has had that song at the reception for the father-daughter dance. Talk about a buzz killer in a SC setting!

What DJ in his or her right mind would inflict this on anyone???

Sorry...but this song sounds like some freako perv dad to me...anyone else? That's totally not cool for the SC, though. Someone actually WANTED to dance to that?!

Mambo No. 5

The girl on stage couldn't dance for shit, which compounded the error.

Anything with a decent mombo or samba beat makes most American girls look bad on stage. There are enough Latina and Brazilian girls in the clubs I go to that the DJ's save the Latin beats for the girls that now what to do with them.

Crimosn and Clover didn't seem that bad to me (I still have a 1966 Fender twin reverb in my basement.) but Butterfly Kisses is a sick twisted song to play in a strip club...unless you want a dancer to call you daddy..../:O

Yeah, it's pretty stupid. I don't realy see how songs with inane lyrics that draw attention away from the dancers are a good idea anyway.

Sorry FBR, I was just busting on you about the 45's. I've got about 200 of them along with about 500 albums in my basement. They are piled up next to the photo albums full of pictures of me with long hair and wearing sandals....

If I hear "Golddigger", "My Humps" or "I'm in Love With a Stripper" one more time I'm going to strangle the DJ, and possibly go on a murderous rampage. They've been overdone to the point where the first note induces projectile vomiting. Enough already.

"I'm in love with a tipper"

The s and r are missing intentionally. They played some god-awful remix with a female vocal. In my mind the dumbest song I've heard in a stripclub.

Yoda I know. Just teasing back ;)

I still have a copy of Sgt Peppers in my closet that I bought right after it hit the shelves. I dont have anything to play in on nowadays but its still fun trying to identify all those people on the cover. Would be fun for family trivia but my kids, I suspect, would be clueless.

Truth be known, the CD does sound better but doesnt have the character of the scratchy vinyl.

After my latest visit to the club by work, I have a question.

Why do so many dancers select songs with grossly explicit sex acts as the lyrics?

I don't know much about these songs or who sings them, but the graphic descriptions of dicks, pussies, cocksucking, assfucking, and things like that just turned me off.

I don't get it.

The worst song I ever heard was "Lifestyles of the Not So Rich and Famous."

I like country music but not in the sc.

I don't know who sings it, but that song they used to play 50 times a night.

"Show me ur pussy, show it to me, I wanna see ur pusssy......"

Not only is it an awfull song but it was being played constantly at a bikini bar.

WTF???

Cally, I like that song, too, and have at least three albums (Doc Watson, Bill Mnroe, Flatt & Scruggs) that have versions of it. HOwever, it was a little weird at a strip club.

Another odd one: "Psycho Killer."

The ATF and I call these kind of songs noise pollution. She does make me laugh when Pussy Control comes on because of the exaggerated "act" she does while singing it.

^^^lol, EW!!!

Some girl at my club dances to "The Safety Dance" ...some remix of the original Men Without Hats version that is no sexier than the original. When I heard it come on the first time, I was like, Oh man... someone stopped fucking the DJ... but then when I looked at the stage, she was cheerfully bouncing around and smiling. Then it happened again, and again. Wow, is all I can say about that.
