3. You get to stop answering to some name you made up. It will be nice to be Lindsay fulltime again and never being amylynne again. Though Ill keep it here on SW.
I'm Vanessa as a stripper and Vanessa in real life .... so um... yeh... doesn't stop with me if and when I retire.
I can take a real vacation w/o thinking I need to dance a couple of days in the city I'm visiting so I can write the whole trip off on taxes.
Damn.. I like being able to claim my trips as tax deductible... :P
If it matters....why do you think that boyfriends would like tattos any more than guys at the club? They don't.
Whilst I would eventually like to be in a relationship after exiting the industry, I would be getting the tattoos for me and me only. If the other guy doesn't like them, then he can lump it as I wouldn't want to date someone so shallow. Plus being done with the industry, I would also be done with associating with people who would judge me on my tattoos. Then again, how and where I'm getting them done won't be a problem.
In re: the sue-ing topic within this thread: good luck trying to get strippers to band together. I've seen it in front my eyes many times over where one stripper will try to band together the other strippers to get some changes happening or force some changes that are happening to not happen.......and guess what.... the intent was there.... girls would go.. yeah count me in... then when it came time for action.... where the hell are they?! Making money hopefully. Plus alot.. a majority I would say (even here in Australia where the tax office has "swept" thru this industry) do not declare all or any of their money that they have earnt.
The old "like herding cats" cliche is true in re: trying to get strippers organised.

One of the first things I had to get used to when I stopped dancing was answering to my real name!!
After a bit of time....and people still calling me my stage name...I registered it as a legal alias. My stage name is known, not only in the dancing world, but also in movies and poledancing! So I have re-assumed the name...eventhough I am no longer a dancer.
For all the things I thought were taxing about dancing, ie..hours, physical demand, etc....
I have children, so I never sleep in. I have a husband, so I never go to bed early! I have my own business, so 9-5 does not apply! I am still in the public eye, so tanning and makeup are still a necessity!! I have not had a trip that was not for business...still!
But I make more money now than I did as a Feature entertainer! And I am home more and happier!!! I love being a fulltime mom & wife......But I still do miss dancing!!:(

Buy lingerie for me and not have to think about "will this come off easy?"
Actually make cd's for fun
Dressing up as a stripper for halloween and not feel like youre working
YEAH! I hate how with every outfit I choose I have to practice first to see how easy the on/off is!

throw away anything scented, shimmery, glittery, tinted or flavored.

Oh! (dorky smile) Yah....I did know that! hehehe. I so wish they had something like this in Az....I've looked and there isn't anything here.
As for me..... I'd finally be able to sit down and have dinner with the hubby and kiddo every night, without having to rush off to work. I'd have to work for myself though, I highly doubt I could turn into a 9-5er again, answering to some bossman/woman, clocking in and out....EECK! I wont stop dancing ever!!!!!

be able to beat senseless any man who randomly grabs my boobs/ass without permission instead of having to smile and say, "Now now you know you can't touch me you naughty thing! You're going to get me in all KINDS of trouble..."
And I will probably miss dancing.
Oh, and also I have my man's name tattooed on my back, and I will look forward to not having to lie about the meaning of that tattoo.
Well I waited till I was retired to get a tattoo. And I shave a lot less often. And I dont wear dancing heels (7 inch stilettos) anymore other than when I'm working out with my pole I have at home..lol. I only tan in the summer, look like snow white the rest of the time. Dancing for the customer I dont miss, dancing on stage I do miss.

But yeah I have not danced in over a year and I hardly ever shave my legs or bikini and I only shave my under arms when I HAVE to not every damn day ....I stopped dying my hair and getting expensive hair cuts ....no more tanning , all the make up is gone .....I wear comfy shoes , my eye brows are all natural ....I don't bleach my teeth all the time .....my nails are natural I just trim them now ....no bags of strippers gear in my back seat that the cops who pull me over for driving to fast always ask "whats in the bag" with the little smirk because they KNOW whats in my bag at 3am ..........No more worrying about what I eat , no more worrying about the latest trendy thing ......no more working on the HOLIDAYS !!! Shit I could on and on BUT you know what ?? I am dying to go back and can not wait xoxoxoxo

To those who wear wigs or hair extentions: you can on your last day whip the hair off on stage, swing it around your head then stuff it in your g-string .....a friend of mine actually did that. She ended up having the best night ever.I love that crazy girl!

for me:
being able to lay in bed when I have cramps, not go to work b/c I make the most that time of the month.
Never hear the name lola again. Or be asked what my real name is.
Watch my fav shows live, not on the tivo
have people use their imaginations to see me nakie, not come in to my club
Have people say oh that's interesting when I tell them what I do for a living, not, really, really, I never met a STRIPPER before.
Not have to fake interest in anything!!!!!!
Buy sexy clothes for me, not for work
I'll add to this I'm sure.....

hm, i don't have any funny ideas, but in all seriousness...when I retire, it'll be after I've got my masters, and I'll never again have to depend on a man or put up with a ton of bullshit from a man for money.
Maybe I'll teach pole dancing as a side job when I retire...it would seem a waste to learn all these complicated tricks and then do nothing with them after I stop showing them off in the cllub! :)
Maybe I won't retire right after grad school, though. Maybe I'll still strip for another year or so, and it will be the easiest fucking year ever, b/c I can say and do whatever the hell I want to any condescending, ignorant, cheap assholes ITC. What will I care? I'll have a degree in a field that interests me and allows me to basically write my own ticket. I won't *need* their money anymore! :) SO I can just have a good time with the non-asshole custies and make my $ without feeling like I'm groveling for it....and then quit whenever I want.
I'm sure I will miss stage dancing though. :(

i retired prematurely :( i miss it! my experience is a bit different though, i did mostly private parties and danced in a club some while i was at school. now i work full time in business sooo yea i miss the night life. as much as i complained about all these things while i was working youd be surprised at how much you miss everything once its over. but i definitely do not miss the constant physical upkeep!
