I always think it looks tacky and desperately-seeking-attention and/or trying to look important, seeking validation, etc, to have large bills on the outside.
I see girls at work all the time running around with that single $100 on the outside of a bunch of $1s folded longways and stuck in their Gstring ::) It just looks stoopid.
1. Advertising that you have "alot" of money like that only makes you a potential target for thieves. And we know there is alot of that in this industry.
2. Some guys don't want to spend money on a girl when they think she has already made "enough" or "too much". No need to give anyone any additional reason to turn you down for dances.
3. If you're trying to impress other GIRLS with your lonely Cnote stuck so obviously on the outside of your remaining $17, it's not working. Furthermore, 9 times out of 10 I've got alot more money than you stuck in my garter - and it's none of your business. I just giggle to myself at your obvious attempt at looking cool or "rich".
Just like with custies, the girls who REALLY make money don't feel the need to show it off.
I strap my money to a garter on my thigh with a PONYTAIL HOLDER, not a rubberband, so I know it's not going anywhere. If someone tries to get it, I will feel it long before they'll actually get it off my leg and can administer the necessary swift kick in the balls or whatever is appropriate for the situation. I carry a little purse for my breath mints, lipgloss, etc. My purse doesn't get stolen because everyone can see my money is NOT in there. My money never gets lost because it is strapped to my body where I can see/feel it at all times. That's the absolute safest way. Fuck whether anyone thinks it's low-class - it's my hard-earned money and I'll be damned if I'm gonna lose it.

Some men resent us for making the money we do in a job that they think is so easy. Keep the $1 bills on the outside and the big bills inside (I do the same in my wallet). Keeping the thieves away from you is a big incentive as well. The customers can see how busy you are when you're walking back and forth to the lap or VIP room, so there's no reason to show them by flashing cash.

after reading thread i experimented a bit and i noticed that, when the bigger bills were showing, it was not uncommon for a guy to start to hand over a small tip, reconsider and then give me a larger one...

If you're working in a club where oneupmanship is standard, than maybe it will work in your favor. I carry my money is my purse, so it's not an issue for me.
