Eyughhh, Rose, thanks for the visual! :P

Air Supply... My family has an ongoing thing about Hall & Oates. Yes, they REALLY suck, but my mother has this passionate hatred of Hall & Oates.

Oh Yekhefah!!! The blasphemy!! Hall and Oates do not suck!! ;D ;D ;D

Yekhefah

OMG! Y'all actually like Hall & Oates?? Maybe it's just that I grew up with my mother's vicious hatred, but I didn't think there were actually people who liked them... I guess somebody has to, but I've never met anyone who's admitted to it!

I hate their music almost as much as my mom does. Ugh.

And BTW, Scarlett, YOU suck because now I have "Maneater" stuck in my head. You have completely ruined my Fourth of July. I'm going to spend the rest of the afternoon and evening thinking, "Whoa-oh here she comes... watch out boy, she'll chew you up... whoa-oh here she comes... she's a maaaaaaaaneata..." :shoot:

Whoa-oh here she comes... watch out boy, she'll chew you up... whoa-oh here she comes... she's a maaaaaaaaneata

Yekhefah is on a roll taday with the singing posts, I love it...

I have a similar knee-jerk reaction as your mom to Hall & Oates, only mine is to Billy Joel for some reason. Cannot abide him. I'll leave the room, leave the club, leave the house, whatever it takes to get away from him singing.

Yekhefah, "Maneater's" been so overplayed I totally understand why you hate it, but check out the early Hall and Oates stuff. It's like white-boy Philly soul. Take a listen to "She's Gone" or "Sara Smile." It might even change your mind.

Billy Joel, however, must be wiped from the face of the Earth.

I've heard them. Believe me, growing up Southern with a lot of older relatives into easy listening, I'm familiar with the full Hall & Oates catalog. I am comfortable saying that, in my ever so humble opinion, THEY SUCK DONKEY DICK. ;)

I have no strong opinion regarding Billy Joel, but I will do anything in the world to get away from the Cranberries. I have actually burst out screaming and in tears when I was unable to escape "Linger."

"Linger" has one redeeming quality... when you are stuck listening to it, you can vent your frustration by mimicking the singer's atrocious accent and whining just like her with a slight adjustment to the lyrics. "Did you have to pull my fing-ER.. now I have to, now I have to, now I have to let it lingerrrrrr..."

Muaha. Don't forget the sax solo...

I'll agree with you about the Cranberries. blech.

What are your favorite WW songs? I personally love "Suck a Cheetah's Dick", "Casper the Homosexual Friendly Ghost" and "Cut the Mullet".

GG Allin would be great too, especially since his songs tend to get stuck in your head.

If you can find a worse song, I would love to hear it. Seriously, words fail me. This is a musical trainwreck.

A local Alaska band called The Diamonds has a song called "I don't know what you got, but don't get it on me" Rather catchy tune, but definitely NOT good strip club material. lol. "Midget love slave" by Corky and the Juice Pigs. Well, really anything by Corky and the Juice Pigs...good for a laugh, not for a dance! :P

I absolutely agree. David Hasselhoff is the all time worst and K-Fed's Papa Zao is truly awful but beware the Paris Hilton because that song will get stuck in your head...Im ashamed to admit I know the lyrics.

:bump:

btw yesterday I hit the bossman with Jack Wagner's "Nothing's Gonna Change My Love For You"

Dude, that's Glenn Medeiros. Jack Wagner did "All I Need." And yes, I love me some 80s syrupy ballads. Chicago (and Peter Cetera solo stuff), Rick Springfield anyone?

When you really want to get the ::) going, hit em with "Sometimes When We Touch" by Dan Hill. (lyrics: http://www.romantic-lyrics.com/ls64.shtml)

"Show Me" by the Cover Girls
"Solid" by Ashford & Simpson (for the 80s cheese factor)
"True" by Spandau Ballet (I like this song, it's the first video I ever saw on MTV...but so NOT a strip club song)

I love that cover. Well, I love the original more, but the cover is so funny.

Truly bad?

You know what song I hate? Shawn Mullins "Rock-a-Bye". That is truly awful 'music'.

.
Lyrics for: They're Coming To Take Me Away, Ha-haaa

Remember when you ran away
And I got on my knees
And begged you not to leave
Because I'd go beserk

Well you left me anyhow
And then the days got worse and worse
And now you see I've gone
Completely out of my mind

And they're coming to take me away ha-haaa
They're coming to take me away ho ho hee hee ha haaa
To the funny farm
Where life is beautiful all the time
And I'll be happy to see those nice young men
In their clean white coats
And they're coming to take me away ha haaa

You thought it was a joke
And so you laughed
You laughed when I said
That losing you would make me flip my lid

Right? You know you laughed
I heard you laugh. You laughed
You laughed and laughed and then you left
But now you know I'm utterly mad

And they're coming to take me away ha haaa
They're coming to take me away ho ho hee hee ha haaa
To the happy home with trees and flowers and chirping birds
And basket weavers who sit and smile and twiddle their thumbs and toes
And they're coming to take me away ha haaa

I cooked your food
I cleaned your house
And this is how you pay me back
For all my kind unselfish, loving deeds
Ha! Well you just wait
They'll find you yet and when they do
They'll put you in the A.S.P.C.A.
You mangy mutt

And they're coming to take me away ha haaa
They're coming to take me away ha haaa ho ho hee hee
To the funny farm where life is beautiful all the time
And I'll be happy to see those nice young men
In their clean white coats

And they're coming to take me away
To the happy home with trees and flowers and chirping birds
And basket weavers who sit and smile and twiddle their thumbs and toes
And they're coming to take me away ha haaa!

Give me 5 more minutes and I could come up with worse.

I know its another thread, but the Fergie "London Bridges" is just the most unlistenable crap I've ever heard. I ve attempted to listne to it at least 3x...but can't handle it for more than 15 seconds, I just want to run my car off the highway. :(

Hey, I like "Sylvia's Mother". I wouldn't play it, but I kinda like it. There are also a couple of great covers of "They're Coming To Take Me Away". One was by Lard, which is basically Ministry, but with Jello Biafra from DK on vocals. Twisted. There's another one by an EBM-ish band called Neuroticfish. Their version is actually playable!

And hey, if that song isn't Jack Wagner, it still sucks. I know he did "All I Need".

Today's bad-music-before-we-open choices were that awful song from Karate Kid... "You're The Best Around" by...someone I dont feel like looking up, followed by "Escalator Of Life" by Robert Hazard. Oh, good one btw Scarlett...that "Rock-A-Bye" song blows goats.

Heh, "You're The Best" by Joe Esposito (yes I looked it up, just cuz I'm curious). A tortilla chip company actually used that song in its ad campaign recently over here.

And for sports/driving sequences in 80s movies, besides that song the ultimate classic has to be "No Easy Way Out" from Rocky IV (featuring Stallone driving around Philly in his Lamborghini without once looking at the road, shifting gears for no apparent reason).
