On average, I drink between 4-7 drinks per night.
HOWEVER, the bartenders are VERY light pours. My friend who bartended there (until recently) informed me that 2 drinks at work = 1 drink at any other bar.
Also, we have to breathalyze before we leave. Assuming that you're actually dancing and not just sitting on your ass all night, you can work it off. With 4-7 drinks in me, I blow between a .00-.04.
If you're driving and blow too high, you get to hang out with the bouncers for 3-4 hours. Not a happy thing.

At the place where I worked at you had to sell 12 drinks a night. When you started to get drunk they would start watering down the drinks. But basically everyone drank and drank quite a bit. Some more then others based on how u were acting and how much they started to water down the drinks.

I HAVE TO be buzzed while I am working. Or else I will make no money, wont be as social and pleasant with customers, wont be as sexual when giving lap dances, and be shy/nervous on stage.
How do you cope with dancing sober?
Especially the horrible men who harass you and treat you like a whore, the ugly men, the men who smell, anxiety, the other dancers, putting on your plastic smile, fake sweet voice and insecurity ??
**Many dancers I know are on something... This job is not easy

I have had more than my share in the past but now it's strictly in VIP and that's it.
When I did drink to a 'little bit of excess' it was because of the reason most people do - I was having fun at the time and I basically felt like it. ;) I didn't have the responsiblity I do right now. Nothing horrible ever happened minus the typical drunk stupidity.
Now I just don't do it because it makes me feel like hell the next day and I have a 6 month old at home.

As a manager i try and keep track of my lady's and how they are doing.. I also have my Bartender, DJ, and Waitress looking to make sure that the lady's are not getting too trashed.
As I get new dancers that come in I have a line that I tell them as I go over the rules of the club " If I notice that you are getting too drunk, I will cut you off. You are here to make money not to get drunk." I may come off sounding like an asshole but my lady's love me. }:D

Laugh at the men who harass you... they are nothing and you should KNOW that. Isn't it funny, little broke peon trying to hurt you and call you names, HAHAHA he doesn't know it doesn't affect you, how cute!!
My smile isn't plastic and my sweet voice isn't fake. I have learned to have them. it's a skill. I have learned to be happy, I have learned to smile because I love it... and mainly I have learned to stop being insecure.
There is absolutely no reason to be insecure whatsoever. Think carefully about it. Why should you be insecure? You're GORGEOUS. men pay you for time. So some little tiny asswipe who has to waggle dollars for titties calls you a name; you shouldn't give a shit.
Just remember. Nobody can hurt you unless you let them.

X was kinda big for awhile too.
I can dance the day after, but no way in hell could I pull off dancing on X. I can't even dance at shows when I'm on it, I just revert to pogoing. For a day or two after though I am a fucking awesome stripper! I get all super sensual on stage (mostly cause petting myself is so damned awesome) and am really friendly. Lapdances are kinda weak though cause I just sorta lay on they guy and pet myself.
Personally, the usual scenerio for me drinking is either I'm having fun with a custie and they're paying or else somebody has some fancy champagne in the VIP that I want to taste and geek out on. Okay there was that one time when a bartender just wanted to see what I was like when drunk and just continually supplied me with alcohol. I rarely accept drink offers from just random dudes. Fun and laughter seem to be the key ingrediants.

I never drink to calm my nerves. I have been drunk at work once, totally by accident, I didnt realize how strong a new drink i was trying was (the bartender liked me, so apparently made them stronger than normal), and even then, I was still on time for stage, didnt fall, etc. I will drink at work, but not beyond a slight buzz, if that. I just dont care for drinking at work. For me, drinking is associated with having fun, and work isnt fun for me, it's work.
Some girls drink so they feel ok doing the job, some drink because they like to "party", some drink to make the customers happy, some do it because they like it, and who knows how many more reasons. I can't stand trashed strippers personally. However, as long as they leave me alone, I'll deal.

Like it was said before in this thread, I think it comes down to anxiety sometimes for dancers... at least some of the ones I know. They go to the bar for a minute as soon as they come out the door at 7pm or whatever, chill and have a drink, calm the nerves.
A girl last night danced for me that I haven't had dances from in ages, boy she was drunk. The dance was about the same as she would be sober.

But for the most part, I would have a drink a couple of hours into the night because customers are boring, and the body gets achey from dancing.
This pretty much sums up why I drink. The chatting people up part is the worst. I'm not a terribly social person. I'd much rather be at home curled up with a book than talking to strangers in a bar. Plus, it's a lot easier to keep dancing on stage (and I go up on stage a lot) when you've had a couple drinks.

I used to drink EVERY night at work, but I quit drinking completely about 3 months ago and it did hurt my money for a few weeks before I adjusted to working sober. When I quit drinking I did start to notice how many other dancers I work with (I'd say about 80 percent) drank excessively at work. Girls are always passing out in VIP, in the dressing room, on STAGE even!!!!

I think its a universal fact that many people who work in bars or even restaurants drink on the job. Having a a cocktail or two or three doesn't hurt anyone. You can go to a four star dining establishment and find a waitress, bartender, or even a manager sipping on something during their break. Why should it be frowned upon when a dancer does it? This to me makes no sense.
On the other hand, if you have to get sloshed at work, well, you're in the minority and you may need some help.

I feel like the minority in this thread but I drink every day I work. I usually drink 4-7 drinks at work. They're always with customers and they do put me in more of a fun social mood to work. I don't drink for anxiety reasons though, mostly just because I enjoy it.

I rarely ever drink at work. The most I've ever had in an eight hour shift was maybe three shots, but as I said, it's rare. Some girls drink just for the fun of it, but some do it because it "loosens them up" and they feel like they can't work without it.
IMHO, if you can't do this job without alcohol, you shouldn't be doing it period.

Me too. My hustle buddy and I have a good luck shot together, and I know when to say when. I think as long as you don't get wasted and drive drunk, drinking at work can be a fun social interaction, and break the ice.
However, I do have a coworker, though she is a nice girl, who is known as "the girl who is always drunk" at work. I feel sorry for her; she makes a fool of herself.
Ok this thread Is old as hell but Im wondering why it seems people think this is black and white. You are either the totally sober " I don't have to drink to make money" purists or the stripper who gets trashed at work every night. Some people just hav a few drinks, and are neither completely sober or trashed.

OK, I'm not the party guy I was when I was younger, but it's always so much easier to talk to strangers and contribute to the life of the party after a few drinks. Strippers must talk/flirt/party with strangers to succeed, so why should they be any different ? The only difference I see is that most of their drinks are bought for them (many by me :D ) so again, why not ?

Seriously. This is the kind of narrow minded bullshit that pisses me off. Sorry but some of us, like myself, have horrible stage fright. I like to have a drink or two before I get up there. I have a bit of social anxiety as well and yes alcohol does let my walls down a bit. I just love judgmental strippers ::)

I feel the same way. I usually take a shot of 151 before going up there. Only cuz my movements are jerky otherwise

Yeah, I always feel like I dance better after a few drinks.
I'm much more talkative and social then.
Although I can no longer drink at work...(except for one drink at the start of my shift), I'll get a ride on Friday's/Saturday's (party days) so I can drink with the VIP tables.
I really don't see the problem with drinking at work.
I don't think anyone should think they're better than anyone else because they don't drink at work.
There's been times I was wasted at work and have made bank. There's been times where I didn't make shit being wasted.
Same for being sober.

I dont have to drink at work... it just makes it easier to bare the bullshit I hear come out of most customers mouths. I dont need to drink to do stages. If I only had to do stage sets I probably wouldnt drink at all. I just need to dumb myself down when dealing with most of the wankers. Plus I am also more creative after a drink or two. That being said I have never been falling over drunk or barfing or something like that... cause I would just take some coke if that happened...straighten myself out. LOL Lately Im not drinking as much though to much shit to do the next day.

That's exactly what I would do too...lol
I actually hated doing blow alone. I'd ALWAYS have to drink with it. Otherwise it just put me in a "zombie like" state.
As soon as I started feeling buzzed though, go do a line, then I was ready to party again.

I use to drink all the time while at work. I stopped because I hate unnecessary calories. I would rather be skinny and sober then drunk and pudgy.
Definitely. I'm a big beer drinker.
Since I don't drink as much anymore, I have noticed some weight loss. :)

Yes, I drink at work. Everyday, no denying it. It is rare I get drunk though, just enough to get me buzzing. It kinda sucks too because it takes a lot to get me drunk after 5 years of dancing and the bars out here barely put even half a shot in the drinks (Guam). It isn't that I'm scared to get on stage or scared to talk to people really. I am just a lot more interesting when I'm drunk. When I'm sober I'm a shy introvert and not very interesting, therefor I have trouble walking up to customers and talking to them. Yes when I'm sober I still go up to them but it is the usual your name, where from, blah blah and I hope they come up with something interesting to keep me talking. When I'm buzzed I'm a lot more talkative, can come up with jokes better, can sell drinks/dances better, dance better, just overall get in that I don't give a fuck mode over when I'm sober being scared to ask for the champagne room and make no money. I also have anxiety/panic disorder which makes me shaky and nervous all the time, customers see that when I'm sober and won't spend money on me.

I dance sober every night. I used to be WAAAAASTED every night. Having done both I would say that anyone can dance sober if you really want to. Its hard at first and you think you can't dancer without being under something... But I find it much easier not having to worry about my buzz or getting sober to drive home. I find myself so much more focused on the money and treat it more as a busines, in turn I make SO MUCH MORE MONEY.
Some days when Im super anxious it can be hard, and some days I just dont "click" with people or get my mojo.. It happens. But in the end I will never go back to getting wasted at work. Because I treat it as a business now and dont want to fuck up my money ever again. Plus I focus on getting THEM drunk and taking their money instead. :)

I'm a partyer--hell yeah I drink at work, always! Just as much as putting on my heels at the start of each evening, it's part of my transition into my stripper persona. Without it, dancing is unbearably boring and I want to smack most every dude upside the head. Drinking means I'm motivated, I can make a lot more money, and at the same time have a blast each night with girls I consider my friends. My club has a "party" vibe, and all of us drink (if some of the girls don't you can bet they're doing something far riskier.) I can handle my shit, and I always check myself with a police-grade breathalyzer before I drive home. If drinking makes me any less of a stripper or means I'm not "cut out" for this line of work--WHATEVER! I honestly could not care less.

How is it anymore dangerous than drinking in a regular bar?
I actually think it's SAFER to drink at work...where there's security, cameras, friends....

all I'm saying is no one cares about those who DON'T drink. (because honestly, some girls could seriously use a drink! The way some of them are so uptight..lol)

I started off as an underage dancer at a dive club who never drank at work, because I wasn't allowed to. I switched to my current club a little over a year ago once I turned 21, which is huge and had five times the amount of dancers and customers I was used to at my dive club. I drank for about the first two months, until one night I blacked out at work. I've never drank at work again, and never will.

A dancer told me last week, at this club, the girls are not allowed to say "no" if a customer offers them a drink. Reading through this thread, no one has said anything like that. Have any of you heard this - or do you think that was some sort of BS.
Given the drink prices, I suppose it makes some business sense. Selling drinks is obviously a money maker for the club.
But on a personal level - how could they get away with that shit. Some dancers may have problems with alchohol. Some just might not want to get drunk at work. Can the club actually force this?

You're really not suppose to turn down drinks.
For the girls who are underage or can't/don't drink, they usually have a "house drink". At our work, it's something called a Beach Bomb. Just cranberry juice and orange juice. :)

I drink one beer every two hours (I work for six hours) just so I can get a bit loose, without lowering my inhibitions. The sweating helps me sober up quickly so I can be sober on my way home, since I drive.
I work the day shift, and I feel extremely self conscious 'cause there's a whole lot less people and that puts more pressure on me.
Obviously, I drink a whole gallon of water through those six hours!
And of course, the club gives free lunch and/or dinner to the dancers, yay!

I think drinking at work is a "plus" in our job. I believe it's a trial and error thing you learn when dancing. How much can I drink before I'm too fucked up to work. I love to drink and party with the customers. I, too, want to have fun!!! I live a lot in the moment and if in that moment I want to drink my ass off, I entitled to. It isn't good if everyday you work, your super fucked up. A few drinks so you can work and have fun doesn't hurt!!!

i've had periods of working sober, drinking moderately and drinking heavily. when i was drinking pretty heavily at work it was because i had a problem with alcohol. and i stopped dancing because i was using it as an excuse to drink more and earlier. and yeah there were times when i had waaay too much because i couldn't stop once i started. but that's me. i'm not gonna try to say that everyone that drinks at work has a problem. i just wouldn't encourage it.

Exactly.
I've even read posts where members encouraged drug use. It's just disgusting. Just because YOU drink/do drugs doesn't make it ok. Sure you drink and work that's your life/your job and post what you want but This is stripperweb and lots of girls/naive girls come here for advice, Telling them that drinking on the job is ok is... not cool.
Be safe.
P.S Not everyone needs Liquid courage to do their job. IF you need it then you might want to consider quitting.
I just started drinking. Yes I love it butI have NEVER had a drink while working.
I guess because I genuinely love what I do? Dunno.
^^ True, but this is in customer conversation, not the newbie forum or stripping general. No one asked for advice. Also, As much as SW can be a helpful tool, girls have to find their own way, they shouldn't be looking to a message board to find out if drinking on the job is right for them or not. Everyone here is an adult. Im here to share my experiences and learn about other peoples experiences.... Not to encourage or discouarage anyones behavior. I have my own kid to worry about.

I have a friend who is a stripper. She was arrested for DUI several times and finally the court took her driver's license away for life. I once saw her at her club. She was kind of drunk, but we went into the VIP room. She was so drunk that she fell asleep in the room for about 10 minutes! When she woke up, she asked me to help her to the dressing room since she was too drunk to walk.
She's pretty much an alcoholic who just doesn't learn from her DUI arrests. It seems like she's always drinking. I don't think it's a good idea to drink so much at work that you're drunk. I could have stole her purse or molested her. Not good!

:D
That is good!
However, in ten years in the business, I have found that the ones who don't drink almost always make a lot more money. The predatory nature of the business means that staying sober--or relatively so--makes it a lot easier to hunt.
Also, there is more to the job than grinding cock, especially in some clubs--there is showing up onstage when you are called, not falling down or off the stage entirely (trust me I have seen this!), leaving stage when the next girl is called up, making it to the next stage if that is required in that club, dealing with customers without acting like an idiot (even if so many of them are drunken idiots haha!), etc., etc.
OTOH, some of the shit the dancers have to put up with--hell I'd be getting drunk too, just to deal with it. Especially in some of the rougher clubs.
