Can anybody not wait for Sin City 2? I liked the cinematography in the first one soo much it was like an alive comic book.
I liked X-men 3 but thought it lacked more important characters they left out.

Yes, I'm lookin forward to it. I thought Sin City was executed very well.
I'm not a huge fan of Jessica Alba...I used to be attracted to her but it old. I think she should've gone a little nude. Not because I want to see her naked. I really don't care anymore...maybe a few years ago. BUT for the character's sake.
I remember reading an article that she didn't think it was necessary for the character to strip. In the in the original script I believe her character exposes herself.
If it were "Carmen Electra" or "Pamela Anderson" anyone who has already exposed themselves. Then I could respect it.
I guess I just felt like "Jessica Alba" was compromising and using it as an excuse. In other words a copout. I would rather have her turn down the role than to change the character's role.
a slightly related OFF TOPIC
I remember a while back reading an article on Sharon Stone. In "BASIC INSTINCT" Sharon Stone revealed something that hasn't been done on mainstream/hollywood film.
SHE DIDN'T KNOW! UNTIL OPENING DAY! and She was apparently devestated to the point where she left the theater and called the director to sue/stop/threaten/ unrelease the or some shit like that!
Now how the hell wouldn't you know?!!!!!!!!!!!!
Well, first her character(interpretation) doesn't wear panties. You could call it method acting. Probably no one knows except for her. The camera could have been a good distance away on ZOOM. Lighting had over cast shadows especially if your wearing a skirt.
So, when they shot the scene, it never occured to anyone that her diamond were going to be visible. The reason, back then, "monitors(that's how you are able to see the shots)" where mostly in black and white so within that medium you probably won't see anything. If it was a color monitor like they used today...I'm sure we'd all notice.
I believe the director convinced her that it was part of the character. AND that is how she became a famous icon :)
I think you'll like this....also a FRANK MILLER story...

THE PRESTIGE!
What a great film! Talk about MAGIC in action. MUST SEE!
Acting...GREAT!
Storyline...BRILLIIANT.
Directing- GREAT.
Writing- BRILLIANT.
Cinemotography-GREAT
Music-GOOD
The best part of this film is how it is a metaphor withinitself! <---kinda confusing? I don't don't want to give out spoilers.
When you finish seeing this film you'll leave the theaters...."WHAT THE FUCK?! DAMN."...or at least that's what I say. ;D
4 out of 5 ninja stars!

Monster House was an adorable film! I'm by far not a CGI fan, but this was well done. Its the perfect film for Hallows and the kids... but even grown kids will enjoy it. It came out in stores yesterday.

Sin City 2 is gonna be based off "A Dame to Kill for," another graphic novel. If you want it send me someplace i can e-mail it to and i can send you an e-copy (I have everything Frank Miller ever did in both hard and soft copy).
And, mother of god, please don't talk about the knee to the nutsack X-Men three was. I walked outta that movie in a white hot rage. To squish the Dark Phoenix saga into a 20 minute subplot in favor of a goofy 'cure' storyline is just... i don't know... I don't have words. I mean, you never even get to see her even flare up into the Phoenix! That was hinted at at the very end of X-Men 2 (The fire-like stuff that started coming off her when she was holding back the water). Never followed up on.
I realize that i'm a comic book dork talking to a bunch of strippers, but you missed out on what could have been, had it been done by anyone else. I despise X-Men 3. Spiderman 3, however, i am brewing a fondu in my underwear for, even though it has my least favorite Spidey villian in it (Venom. Can we rip off our hero 35 times, please? We're Marvel so we have to have twenty people running around our universe with the exact same powers as sipdey). I am trippin' over that one. I *loved* the last one. Spiderman 2 was comic book G-spot.

Ladies refrain from kicking some ass. Seeing pretty girls kick some ass. I can dig it. Cheezy but fun<--my guilty pleasure. Forgive me "Oscars." <--referring to my sacred film picks.
From the director of the Transporter.

Suprisingly decent fight choreography from the shots. Cheesy scenes but good choreography.

Around the time the first live action movie came out I sold my mint 1977 Teenage Mutant Ninjs Turtle #1 (Where the Shredder dies at the end and it's supposed to be a one shot single issue story) for 3500$ and issue #2 for an additional grand.
not that that means anything any more. But as a 20 year old guy with 4500$ in my pocket, it was pretty fucking cool at the time.
Collecting for money is largely dead, due to massive prints on quality paper that mom's are too smart to throw out nowadays (They might as well, not like anything's ever gonna be worth anything ever again, it's rarity that makes worth, and 250,000 prints of 'Death of Superman' that will all be around in 50 years doesn't lead to rarity).
Off topic... Don't mind me.

Incidendally, i just bought X-Men 1.5 and it's about as lame as you get. They say deleted scenes are incorporated into the film, what they do not say is that they are mostly repeats of scenes that DID make it in. So you are basically watching stuff you done seen already with minor alterations, ALONG with the stuff you done seen!. Peter Jackson does it best, let's lick that g-spot. Not breathe on the fucking thing.
On a bright note, Slither is coming out on DVD. "For better or for worse." "Much fuckin' worse." THAT is G-spot.
I fucking loved Slither!
"Somethin's wrong with me..." Yeah, no shit. Freaky.
Horror classics being redone for 12 year olds is killing horror. My opinon is that the PG-13 rating is the worst thing that has ever happened to american cinema. It gives suits an excuse and a reason and a method to fuck everything up by broadening it all to the biggest possible market. Hence, hollywood is a bunch of pussies and Japan rules Horror. Americans can't even make a decent action flick anymore. Everything has to be PG-13. Anyone remember Arnold Shchartzenegger's swingin' dick in the Terminator, i know you chicks noticed it. Him punchin' his fist into that punker's chest. We won't see that again until we regrow our balls. Hollywood blows. Rodrequez and Tarentino are all that is making real daring film now. Currently asian cinema is where it's at if you want to be treated like an adult.

Point being? The original Star Wars films are merely 'good' not great, Raiders of the Lost Ark is good not great. Lets flush everything that isn't "Godfather Part II" down the toilet while we are at it. Plenty of very watchable and entertaining movies are 'good' but not great. I think Citizen Kane can double as an Elephant Tranquilizer, and that's supposed to be the 'greatest' movie ever made!

Yes, I heard most people did not enjoy it because it was not as near as to the book.
Basically, not meeting ones expectations can ruin one's perspective on a film.
I heard from a realistic standpoint, they did a great job filling what they could in a three hour film(Not sure how long it is)?
Maybe this should have been made into a trilogy. I would have preferred that instead of LOTR :)

The Matador was so much fun! I would have liked a BIT more comedy in it, but as a whole it was a fun flick. I love the idea of a hitman with quirks... and funny quirks, not neurotic ones.... its different and I like that.
Ice Age 2 (out this upcoming Tuesday) was adorable. Not nearly as funny as the first, but still a good movie to sit back and watch with the family. The new characters were likeable, but not as endearing as the original cast.

POTC 2.... with a tiny spolier.
The second installment of Pirates Of The Caribbean (available on 12/5) was a grand romp through lush locales, and the characters were just as fun as in the last film, but I felt that it lacked in the action department a tad, IMHO. Pulse (available 12/5), like many of the other remakes of Japanese Horrors of late, takes an already established script, shoves every single word and idea into a bag and shakes it up. What gets dumped out after is the new movie. I dare say they arent so much remakes as they are Similar Movies With The Same Name. This remake is good, and its entertaining. If you dont mind analraping of original films, I highly suggest it. What annoyed me about this film is that every scene is poorly lit and has a dirty look. Like the entire city was filthy. I think they took the "creepy look" and over used it. They used it in parts of the film that didnt need it. I think the original film, Kairo, explained things better, but the remake is better looking.

I only got to watch about an hour's worth of Idlewild (Available on 12/5) but I liked what I saw! I love the whole '30s jazz club feel. They seemed to have gotten the attire and look of the period rather well, and despite mixing jazz with modern hip hop, it was a fun addition to the movie... adding the Not Quite Possible to the spot-on retro look. Lots of big names, lots of amusing character interaction. I wish I had been able to watch the whole thing!
Oh, also, I had Miami Vice but didnt get to watch it. It comes out on 12/5 too. Did anyone see it in the theatres that can give me a non-biased review? I need to be able to tell my in-store customers about it!

I liked a lot of it. But i should have loved ALL of it. I mean, i'm a BIG FAN! Why did i not goo myself for that movie?
It's funny, though, everything i thought i'd have problems with (Routh, the costume, Richard White, the focus on alienation) i liked, and everything i didn't think i'd have a problem with (Kevin Spacey's hackmanesque Lex, the kid, Kate Bosworth)... i had problems with!
Plus, Supes lands on the island of Kryptonite, talks to Lex, then gets his AZZ kicked by Lex's goons... I mean, he's like the math club reject facing the football team in that scene. THEN he goes and PICKS UP THE ISLAND and tosses it off into orbit (After being poked by a Kryptonite schiv). If he can pick the fucking island up and launch it, shouldn't he have had something left when Lex's goons were tapdancing on him?
The airplane scene was FUCKING AWESOME, though. And i liked that they portrayed him as a person with feelings, rather than some posterboy.

Wicker Man (the remake) was disappointing. I love me some Cage but damn. I have to admit, however, it was NOT as bad as the original. A NakedHippiePaganMusical would have totally sucked hardcore in the present day. This is one of the few times you will ever hear me admit to finding a remake to be better than the original but, even still... this remake wasnt too hot. Now, I have NOT read the book that both movies was based on, but this movie could have stand for more suspense, given the idea of it.
Also, I just watched Lady In The Water. It got me on my biggest movie pet peeve. Having to adjust the volume throughout the film. Loud then whisper... then LOUD... then whisper. Ugh. The movie itself had some really good characters. They could have been fleshed out more, but they did get their points across, and they did leave an impression. The movie itself was a bit slow for my tastes.... but it might be good for kids who enjoy a bit of scary with their fantasy movie... despite the almost nudity. Ok maybe not for LITTLE kids... but I dunno... it didnt do much for me.
Both films will be available for rent and sale on 12/19
I still have Scanner Darkly and Fearless to watch. I should have reviews by tomorrow.
