Wall mounted tv doubling as monitor help...

Hi guys,
I'm a bit clueless when it comes to televisions, and need your help. I'm in the market for a flat panel wall mounted unit. Here's where I run into problems. The television needs to double as my computer monitor. I'm maximizing space by eliminating my desk and entertainment center. My tower, scanner, pinter etc. will be in the pantry, and my wireless keyboard and mouse stashed under the sofa when not in use.
I work on my computer several hours each day. Much of this time is spent editing music, graphics, photo retouching, and video editing. Picture quality is a must, and "burn in" cannot be an issue. I am not opposed to a projection tv, but would like to hear pros and cons, and be given a clue as to what I need to be looking at as far as flat panels go. I am willing to spend up to $3,500 U.S.. More if necessary.

You will need a monitor with both Video and VGA(your computer) inputs. These are not rare but they are not cheap either. Most television monitors do not have a built in tuner (for your TV stations) but if you have cable or satellite television this will not be a problem. My advice is to stay away from Best Buy and other discount houses as no one there will have a clue as to how to properly advise you.

Projection TV's are generally not going to work for you. LCD and Plasma models will most likely have what you are looking for. Find a specialty store in your area that does higher-end television/video and you should be able to find what you are looking for-at a price. Good Luck.

There are plenty of options out there. I agree with Yoda that you won't get quality info at BB and CC. That doesn't mean they don't have plenty of quality options to suit your needs at a reasonable cost. You need to study your options and make sure you know your compatibility needs. I personally have 3 HDTV products that I could use as a monitor. I prefer watching TV, while wacking away at a laptop. I do know of a specialty store in the area, Yoda. I'll check it out.
