Is there some correlation between meth use and seeing ghosts?

-E There must be b/c I have a friend that swear she sees demons, and im sure she uses meth.

Has to be, because the chick I was speaking of earlier was a serious tweaker. In fact she neglected to inform a mutual friend of ours that she had several eight balls on her when they went to another club in a diffrent state. Nice huh?

Yes, "shadow people", they've been called, gray moving shadows in people form from I've been told.

one girl i worked with insisted that she was giving birth to god's baby...one day she took a bunch on toilet paper from the ladies room and began carpeting a VIP booth with it...said it was going to be her manger (sp?), the place where she would give birth the the messiah. the sad thing is, she believed these lies, most likely due to her crack use. sad, because she was really smart before.

That is just creepy. :(

I can't stand how strippers have to lie to make themselves look "better" than they are. I mean, if they feel that they're not doing their best, then why don't they work on obtaining those things that they want?? Here's an example:

This one dancer told me that she was dancing alongside college. She said that she was going pre-law with the intentions to go to law school afterwards. She even gave me a name of a school(but it was 2hrs away from where she said she lived). I had just met her so I didn't know if she was lying or not...so I simply commended her on college and her ambitions...but turns out that she was not going to college at all.

Another time, the same girl claimed that customers would pay her $20 for every shot that she agreed to drink from me(I work as shotgirl/server these days). For some reason I don't think this is true, esp since there were many occasions where she got pissed off and complained that she didn't make much money.

But here's where I'm puzzled: If the girl thinks that she'll "look better" or something by saying that she goes to college, then why don't she work towards attending college so that she can become the person that she says she is?...

I mean, in the past I used to lie about things to cover up insecurities, too. For example, I lied to an ex by saying that I had gotten a boob job and was no longer flat. That's when I realized that if I felt the need to lie about getting a boob job, that I was insecure about my boobs...so I worked really hard to GET that boob job and turn a lie into a truth. Another time, I lied to a guy about my job...I didn't want to admit that I hadn't found a "regular" job in my field after college, so I told him that I worked in finance and worked part-time at the bar(as opposed to the truth, which was that dancing was my only job). That's when I realized that I wasn't happy or secure with lacking a full-time job...so I spent extra time jobsearching in pursuit of that finance-related job. If I need to lie, then I must be insecure about something...which just means that I should work harder to FIX that insecurity. I wish more of those "liars" approached things similarly. (I hope I explained this the right way)

Hey, I totally feel you on this! There are two types of liars that I love and I think color the world- the ones that lie, but then make shit come true. I had a friend who used to always say "yeah I model" and "I'm an actor" and shit like that. Totally wasn't true, as I looked his dumbass up. Then one day he made ALL of that shit come true and I saw him on TV and in photos. shit like that. That's cool with me, 'cos more than lying it's like a way of making yourself something and fitting into that role befoe you even get it- I pretend, therefore I will be, therefor I am. haha

the other type I like are the ones who just like to make shit up to sy something exciting. i surf and a good friend of mine, who TOTALLY doesn't, was like "yeah, i got this scar from some coral." I was like "wow. shit." she had some crazy ass story and I knew it was all b.s., but it didn't bother me, 'cos she's a good person and I know the important shit about her is all true- who she is, where she comes from, and where she's going. anyway, so the next day she was like "man, I fell down the stairs a couple weeks ago and this shit looks like it's gonna scar for a while" and she was rubbing that SAME "CORAL SCAR!" I laughed SOOOOOOOOOOO FUCKINGGGGGGGGG HARDDDDDDDDDDD. I mean, hoenstly, her coral story WAS a lot better than her dumb ass falling down some stairs, and hell, it made for a cool and exciting story for 5 minutes the night before. if you can spin stories- the go for it! just make 'em worth everybody'/s while and don't lie about WHO YOU ARE.

anyway, i'm not a stripper and nobody I mentioned in this post is, but I was totally inspired to post about it when I read your response, 'cos my point is some liars really do make the world a funner place to live in.

however, the girl you're talking about is just a lazy liar or maybe she thinks if she says it enough she will go through with it?
let's hope it's the last one

I've heard some doozies over the years, but has anyone else noticed cleptomania (sp) and compulsive lying seem to go hand in hand? I remember this one girl used to steal GHD hair straighteners off girls and then give them to other girls as presents?! This girl had also done it all, doctor, nurse, teacher, model, actress.. makes $1000 every night but never has money for a taxi home. All at the ripe old age of 19.

oh this midget (legally) made 15k for a small porn she did for wetmamis.com or something like that. Yet she worked double shifts every day to afford her motel room because she was homeless.

She really was on that site but um... no fucking way did she really make that much on a small porno.

Or did she? I thought the norm pay was a lot less.

The_DFB, thank you for taking the time out to read my post, relate to it, and respond! I'm glad to see that someone feels the same way that I do about this. :)

^ In the past, I was actually that "first" type of liar. I already wrote about a few examples of my lies in my previous post...telling an ex I was getting a boob job, telling a guy I was interested in that I worked a "real" full-time job, pretending to be out-of-debt and better-off when an ex-friend asked me if I was still in "tons of debt," etc.

Whenever I lied, I stepped back and evaluated why I felt the need to lie, and that's when I realized that I felt ashamed for lacking in some area and therefore, I should work hard to obtain what I want. Like your actor friend, I've actually drawn motivation and inspiration from some of my lies! (For example, I got the inspiration to become a stripper after I lied about being one to some guys in a successfully attempt to get a ride home out of them haha).

the other type I like are the ones who just like to make shit up to sy something exciting. i surf and a good friend of mine, who TOTALLY doesn't, was like "yeah, i got this scar from some coral." I admit, hearing outrageous lies/stories can be entertaining. For example, the kooky customer that says big elaborate stories, who I'd listen to if the club was dead and I was bored. However, I've found that even the people who seem to only lie about trivial things, will later end up lying about bigger deals, making me lose my trust in them. Therefore, I will often make small talk with the "second" group of liars just for the entertainment value and good stories, but leave it at that. As fun as they are to talk to, I wouldn't want them being my close friends that I'd trust and confide in.

I think I wrote about this in a thread a long time ago. There was this girl I worked with who pretended to have cancer. She shaved her head and everything. Some of you may say "well maybe she did have cancer." I'm sorry but if you're that sick and going through chemo, there's no way you're going to still be dancing and drinking and having a grand ol' time, and not lose a single pound or even appear to be sick.
After the whole cancer thing (she worked there for like four yrs.) She came in one night saying she went deaf in her one ear. She was even talking like a deaf person. The joke was on her when I walked in the back dressing rm and she was talking on the phone in her normal voice and on the ear that was "deaf." And the next night she worked, it was a miracle, her hearing returned.

I'll admit that when I was poor, I was actually one of those "compulsive liars" who lied a lot. But I didn't make up outrageous stories or anything...my lies were simply made to save face and to avoid pity from people. It was also to avoid being gossiped or thought ill about(since a lot of people hold some pretty bad misperceptions about the poor).

Bad experiences showed me how much people discriminated or thought bad of you if you were poor(I wrote about the false accusations and ostacization in the "When I was broke..." thread). So to avoid the pity and ostracization, I learned how to lie to save face. For example, when my ex-friend ran into me at the library and asked in a probing pitying voice if I still had "tons of debt," I lied by saying that things were financially much better for me now. When I was hungry and didn't have money to food better than Ramen, I pretended to be "okay" because I didn't want people thinking of me as a "charity case" or someone to feel sorry for.

Lying is probably the #1 most important thing I learned how to do when I was poor. Before I was poor, I was overly honest and open with people, and almost NEVER lied. But when I became poor and saw people use my situation against me(e.g., using my lack of money as justification to falsely accuse me of stealing), I started feeling ashamed of who I was and that's when I started lying and covering up.

I kept up the lying for the first few months that I started dancing. I saw the other dancers as being much better-off than me moneywise, since they'd been dancing for a while by the time I started, so I didn't want to risk becomming the target for stripper workplace gossip. Even the DJ advised me to do this(we'd had a confidential talk on my first day dancing). I don't think the dancers saw me as a "liar," since I didn't lie in the way that involves elaborate exciting stories...I think they just saw me as overly reserved and ambiguous.

Lol, we had a girl who loudly claimed to be amongst other things a dance teacher, costume designer, model, the best looking girl in the club, the best dancer in the club, the best girl around generally, and almost everything anyone else had done, she had done bigger and better or first. She fell off the stage at least twice that I saw during her first night and everyone saw because she was such an attention seeker to begin with. Needless to say she didnt make many friends. And no - she wasnt any of the above either...

HaHa, the "jack of all trades" or "renaissance woman" if you will. Had one of those too (she since moved, thank GOD) Lets see....Fitness Model, Personal Trainer and Nutritionist, Nurse, Auto Body specialist, Automotive mechanic, Hair extension "maker", Makeup artist.....I'm sure there was more but I can't remember.
Oh yeah don't forget the "rich lonely old guy" who paid her to go to his house to just "sit and talk" for an hour or so, 5 days a week, 400$ a day. And yes, always had to one-up everyone. You couldn't tell her anything without her telling you how she had it bigger and better. Haha then one night I came in with a new outfit, she came up to me and complimented me on it, then said it would look better on her though, and I should take it off and sell it to her...oh THE NERVE!!!
But oh wait.....The twist to this all is she claimed she worked at the club "for fun, cause she enjoys doing it"

"Yes, "shadow people", they've been called, gray moving shadows in people form from I've been told."

Although shadow people are not only witnessed by people who have used or presently use drugs. There are lots of different explanations for the phenomenon, and either exhaustion or a tendency toward self-hypnosis (as in road hypnosis and so forth) seems to be part of the deal with seeing them, as most people see them at night after driving for a long time and most often (though not always) out of the corner of their eyes.

I think staring at the flame too long in a crack pipe also contributes to shadow people. Freaky shit.

Okay I ran into a lil' liar at work last night and I gotta share this one. She seems to be one of those stereotypical unsober strippers who is way too skinny and always looks like she's high. I was in the dressing room getting ready, and she came in, commenting that she was sooo drunk(and possibly high as a kite) and saying all kinds of stuff.

First, she said that she'd already made $200 in only two or so hours at the club, and now she was leaving for the night but she would be making a lot of money tonight because her "regulars" are taking her out...two separate dates. Oh yeah and they pay her $500/hr each just to buy her dinner and drinks and have conversation with her...no sex involved. (riiiight)

Then, she said that she'd already made $200 in only one hour at the club(yes, this contradicts what she said earlier).

Then, she claimed that a customer walked in and found her just sooooo mesmerizing that he gave her a $23/hr job with his company. ($23/hr...that comes to ~$45,000/yr salary.) Oh yeah customers simply hand out jobs to random strippers that they just met. ::) I innocently asked her what field the job was in, and she says FINANCE!! Uh, right. Is she aware that finance jobs check an applicant's credit and criminal history, and would she even be able to pass either of those checks?? Then she says that he's training her on everything from scratch, and he's sending her books to read so she'll be prepared for the job in January. Right.

Then she starts talking about all of the many jobs she's had, and how she was a straight-A student in Catholic school, and how studious she is, and how she's all all-around Renaissance woman but...she doesn't feel like going to college and she works at the strip club for "extra money." Hmmmm.

Then she starts talking about her "kids." I ask her how old her kids are, and she says 19 and some other teenage age...but she's only 25 yrs old! What????! So I raise my eyebrows a bit, and then she explains, "Well they're actually my ex-boyfriend's kids, but I adopted them." Then she goes on and on about how her 19-yr-old "son" is still in high school so therefore he's still considered a minor even though he's 19, and how that works to her benefit because him still being a "minor" means that she can still collect child support. She gloats on about how much money her ex-boyfriend gives her...like $3000/month!...and how he's so rich and has all these businesses. Right.

...In reality, I know of a girl(friend of some friends) who got knocked up by this total 60-yr-old millionaire/sleazeball "Ray Hiller" in my hometown(he owns the county theater/playhouse and has LOOT!). He's filthy rich beyond belief and easily the richest old guy in town, and he pays her $3500 in child support. (true story, no lie) Now I highly doubt that this drunk stripper's boyfriend is nearly as rich as Ray Hiller to pay that kinda money out in child support...

Okay so if this girl makes so much money from child support and her "regulars" outside the club, then why does she bother to dance? Why spend hours out of the day dancing 2 hrs for $200, when she can make more money than that from her customers($500/hr!), thus leaving her more time to spend with her so-called "kids"??

Oh man...the whole time she was telling me all this, I was just politely listening and nodding my head. It was more entertaining than anything. But it was also kinda pathetic.

This one wasnt at the club, but one of the bands I tour manage (and still hang out with a lot at home) was over the other night, and one of them brought his girl friend. Soon as she walked in, I knew she was gonna be a total liar but it was interesting.

First, starts off by saying she has a paid off car and condo in San Diego, yet no one has seen the car, and she is living with them in the living room of a 1 bed apt (so 5 people in a 1 bed, and the bedroom is off limits) and is a working actress, but her agent is holding her headshot and resume. Then, somehow the conversations turns to dancing, which she denies ever doing, and makes a few rude comments, but shut up promptly when I told her I dance.
The two of us are smoking on the balcony later, and she admits to dancing. But somehow, she only did it for 3 months, came out with 30 G's a month. But she isnt a 'stripper' she just did it for the money, she isnt like the rest of us. Mind you, she is coked out of her mind and suppourting her loser rockstar boyfriend. (I love that boy to death, but he is a damn mooch. Ive been asked my all of that band if I would marry one for a green card, so wonder why shes aroud?) So sad for both of them, as he doesnt know shes that big of a liar, and she thinks he actually likes her.

I agree with you completely. Although, sometimes I will make up so many different lies to customers, not because of insecurities but just b/c and I say them so often that I might actually repeat it to a non customer. I caught myself telling another dancer that I dont actually live in texas and I travel there blah blah blah , it was like my mouth was on auto pilot b/c that is part of my backstory for customers. But, i totally get what you are saying.

I just remembered this girl I used to work with who was a compulsive liar, i think there may have been something wrong with her mentally as the sort of lies she told were just so ridiculous I can't believe she could rationally think she could get away with them. She had spent some time in the past as a model, I know this because I saw her picture in catalouges and ads, but she would always blow it all outr of proportion, saying that she was a catwalk model and had worked with this designer and that designer. She also thought she was a fantastic singer and would spent whole nights singing away to herself in the changing room. She was always telling us that she had signed a record deal and was gonna be a big star.
The very worst lie she ever told tho was that she had been in her regulars private jet, (she did have a regular who was very wealthy but I don't think he owned a jet, and even if he did I know by this point he was bored of her and trying to get rid of her as he was friends with a good friend of mine. I think she kinda semi stalking him by the end.) She made this big deal about how she was goibng to tell us a secret and we couldn't tell anyone or else her reg would get into big trouble. Then she said that when they were in his jet he actually let her fly the thing. She had no pilots licence and had barely ever been in a plane but here she is flying a friggin jet? I don't think so.

Hehehe. I'm glad this thread is still active. We have a new one at the club. Only 19 years old, but wow owns her own home, is on her way to owning her own salon, where, she will not be just the owner but also the head makeup artist.
In addition to this, completely supports her family, pays all their bills and buys them cars.

And how about the 700 dollars she made the other night in just a few hours (it was dead and top earners were leaving with 150 bucks) just on floor dances alone, not even from CR. Then how she came stumbling back into the dressing room, claiming to be drunk, and also claiming that she blew her entire 700$ on shots and champagne for everyone......
Just so you guys know, my club is really strict on underage drinking and they do a damn good job of not letting it happen. The managers are very aware of who is under age and keeps a close eye one them. Especially if they are ordering rounds of shots and bottles of champagne for customers.
Come on, girl??!??!!

Ooh! Ohh wait...theres more...I forgot....

How about the fresh seafood dinner that she provided, and cooked, for her entire family on Christmas Eve...

When questioned on where she found just-caught fresh lobster tail, crab legs, scallops, shrimp and fish in our state (we do not live anywhere near the ocean) She claimed that she had it flew in for her from California.

Hehehe. I don't know maybe this is possible but with all the other lies she has told I just assumed this was one too.

LOL so she PRETENDED to be drunk??!! Haha what a fool!

That reminds me of this one girl...she wasn't a stripper though(but she made up lies about being one). I think I already wrote about her earlier in this thread if you browse through all the posts. She was 18, high school dropout with no job that lied about being in college for nusing(she couldn't even keep the name of the school straight; she just kept naming random schools in her area that started with "R"), constantly feigned pregnancy, and pretended to be this all-knowing, all-experienced former drug addict that had such a horrible, horrible life but became a stronger person from it. (Well her life WAS pretty horrible...lame and fruitless and dead-end...but point is, it wasn't like the way she would describe) Anyway, my point is: She too would pretend to be inebriated! One day, I bought those mini bottles of Kahlua Mudslide that is sold in the liquor store. These bottles are TINY and have like 5% alcohol per volume. Yet Miss Liar claims to be "drunk" after just one of them.

Oh yeah remember how I said she claimed to be this huge all-experienced former druggie that couldn't resist any drug? Well one day a small group of us were smoking weed at my friend's house. She took one hit from the bowl, looked down at the ground like she was going to get sick, and claimed that she couldn't smoke anymore because she was "sick from the pregnancy"(which didn't exist).

If this girl at your club has to pretend to be drunk to find an excuse explaining why she doesn't have any money, then it's REALLY obvious that she probably doesn't know how to hustle for shit. Hells, I wouldn't even be surprised if it turns out she's one of the bottom earners at your club. Seems that the bottom earners are the ones with the elaborate stories about moving to Hollywood, buying a really expensive car "very soon," etc. It's almost like they see other girls making money and buying nice stuff with it, so they get jealous and feel the need to compete(at least just in talk).

One thing I heard that I'm pretty sure was bull was that this one woman "used to do all those fancy poll tricks and it never made her any money". She was 50+ years old and had only worked at the club for a few years. I doubt she was doing any flips since her dancing style was pretty much "hip shake, hip shake, show the goods, take money".

My ex boyfriend was an amazing liar though. He lied about taking someone's ipod, who was a mutual friend of ours, and refused to admit that it was stolen even when the security code turned out to be the same. Then after I dumped him he claimed to have a heart condition and was dying, hoping I would call him. He's lied about just about everything - driving while having a suspended license, doing drugs, smoking cigarettes, hitting on his baby's mother, how he treated his child... he was not a good person.

I once worked with a girl who claimed to have gone into labor on stage at the club. She embellished her story adding that her water broke and the paramedics insisted that she stay on the stage while they get the ambulance ready for her. She went on to say that her baby was healthy and full term, but she gave him up for adoption.

I think she could have had a baby that she gave up, but the part about going into labor (full term) while dancing is ridiculous. She was a small person with a teeny tiny waist, no way she could have passed as just carrying a few extra pounds.

Think about it though. All strippers go by a fake name when in the club. If the most basic thing about someone is a lie, why would you expect anything else to be true? It's part of the the "fantasy." lol. :)

I'm sure your driver's license reads "SC_dude".

I'm not sure if she really was drunk or not...(I have seen her drink, she sneaks little mini bottles of vodka in her bag) What I DO know is a lie is the buying alcohol out on the floor. It would never happen. She gets away with her mini bottles but there's no way in hell that she would be able to sit at a table and order shots and champagne.
It would be so easy to get her booted for drinking but I am just the type that never wants to be involved in anything. She would have to do something really fucked up for me to tell on her...until then though, we all just have to suffer through her ridiculous stories.
Yeah and isn't it always "very soon"? Haha...they all love to talk about the shit they are going to buy....If you really are making that much money, and you really want to impress everyone and blow them away, keep your mouth shut then just show up in your BMW one day.

Ok I am going to go have my coffee that was flew in for me this morning, fresh from Columbia, and the pilot is Juan Valdez's brother. Then I am going to go take a shit on my golden toilet;D

She was a small person with a teeny tiny waist, no way she could have passed as just carrying a few extra pounds.

lolol, omygosh so funny. her baby supposely would have came out of her mom already naked in a strip club.

Oh, I've got one.
I was talking to this 15 year old slut high school girl. She must have thought I was her age.
She begins telling me how she did parties. I' being who I am....
"Oh? Wow. Do you like, take a guy with you?
"No, I go by myself. The men like it better that way"
"OH, wow!! What do you do?"
"I just dance on the coffee table, you know. Like strip"
"That's so cool!! Maybe I should try it! Like.... wow. How much do you make?!?"
"Oh, like 60$ a party"
"Jeez. That's alot"

Mind you, this girl had clown lipstick on...... ooooooooh. I feel bad for playing with her. I also feel bad if she got 60$.

Yup. I was making $4.25/hr working at Subway when I was 14 and those $125 checks bi weekly were like gold!

Yeah my first job was at age 14, making $4.50/hr as a dishwasher/busser...and this was AFTER the minimum wage had increased to $4.75/hr! (I was ripped off--I mean, paid--under-the-table) Then I "moved up" in the job world to McDonalds, which paid a "whopping" $5.15/hr...being paid min wage seemed like a fortune compared to being paid less than min wage! ::)

Now you'd think that I would keep "moving up" in the job world, but alas...I would stuck making $6-8/hr for the next 6 or 7 yrs. (sad, huh?) That's when I realized just how diminuitive min wage(and wages next to it) really are, and that's when I turned to stripping until I was able to find a non-stripping "real" job...

I am soooo glad I'm out of the min wage rut! :)

OK I'll go first...The other day, I ran into a dancer who just started dancing about two months ago. She's very young(18ish), and told me that she sometimes takes narcotic/recreational pills before coming to work. I said hi to her and asked her where she'd been lately(I hadn't seen her in a while), and she said that she was at another club, making bank and that she'd already bought TWO houses. ???!!! Then why wasn't she at the other club that night? And does she know how much one single house costs for just the down payment?

That same girl who I wrote about in the above referenced quote, is now working at my current club. Last night when she got off stage, the first person she approached to the side of the stage was a regular attending customer. She said to him, "I only need $500 more to save my house." WTF?? ::)

Later on, I went up to the customer(who I chat with a lot when he comes in) and asked him dubiously if he really believed that line about saving the house. We both laughed and rolled our eyes and started talking about what horribly unbelievable bullshit that dancer(and others) spew out. Apparently the dancer also told him that the house owner was making a "special exception" for her because he had the hots for her, and that if she paid him anything at all, he would let her stay at the house. Wait...since when do you buy a house but the house has an "owner"/landlord? ::)

Then I told him this customer the story about that loser guy who made up stories about an imaginary friend, the "friend" who I exposed to everyone later to be nothing more than some random pic downloaded from a dating website. ::) The customer was laughing his ass off like no tomorrow after that story!!!! :D

I worked with a girl who claimed to be studying to be a doctor, but thought the UK was bigger than the US, and also thought Britain was a separate country to England.

^ What????? LOL what a horrible liar. The only thing worse than a compulsive liar, are the BAD compulsive liars that make themselves look stupid. Whenever I hear the beginning of a bad story from one of these types of people, I immediately get bored, since I know that this story is all bullshit and has no relevance to real life or anything useful.
