I worked in DC where there is no lapdancing so we made all our money on stage and then during the tip walk after (and convo, drinks, etc) but I LOVE stage. LOVE IT! Especially when I have it all to myself.
Honestly, with all the money I made only doing stage shows and hanging out with customers, lapdancing almost makes no sense... I mean it's way more work for about the same money (although often in a shorter period of time I suspect).
Oy.. I miss DC...

Maybe it's because I'm a spotlight addict/theatre dork/diva/whatever you want to call it in real life too...I sing opera and do theatre and circus arts, and being onstage--whether i'm singing, flipping over a trapeze or climbing a pole--gives me the biggest high EVER. I love having a ton of eyes on me, with theatrical lights and costumes, showing off new pole tricks, feeling a huge burst of energy when I hear the opening bars of one of my favorite songs (and I tip the DJ's VERY well to make sure I get a steady stream of my favorite music all night...it's worth it to me! :) ) I just fucking LOVE performing onstage in any capacity and can't get enough of the stage-induced energy rush, and even after half a year of doing this, I still get excited when the DJ calls me to stand by for the main stage.
Can we clone you?
Seriously, you are the best kind of dancer to have, for the DJ at least. I spent way more energy trying to get girls onstage at my last club than on any two other elements of the job combined.
All I can say is, try not to lose that feeling, and you'll be able to make a lot more money, a lot longer.
Guys naturally respond to any woman who is genuinely inspired onstage, I've seen this in at least one hellhole club, and certainly where I'm at now.
There's the rare dancer that can maintain this for years on end, but I have had the pleasure of working with more thasn a few over the years. One of them springs instantly to mind, Atlanta--a woman so amazingly she instantly won the 'Nonstop Dancing Machine' epithet, until we come up with something better.
This dancer walks around on her hands all over the stage, all along the tip rail counter--does backflips, does phenomenal pole tricks, every single time she goes onstage. She never quits, and always has this cool little smile on her face. I actually left the booth one busy night to tell her I admired her attitude after 10 years of dancing.
OK, so I'm posting this now before reading the 50 posts since the OP, Are we still talking about the same thing, lol?
