I have one of the multipiece ones from Platinum Stages and it's been awesome!! All the girls love it. It's nice and sturdy and is easy to move from room to room. Make sure you line it up to a stud in the ceiling though.
Makes for fun photo shoots too :)

I looked at the multi piece and that picture above! (nice pic). I think this multi piece is different from what I am thinking. I might give it a try. For the money it better be good haha

Oh it's definitely worth the money. My friend bought another pole (don't know the brand) for about $100 less and that pole lost its grip, fell, and took out a chunk of her wall at a party!! She promptly called me (I had JUST left and missed out on the fun) to ask me what kind I had so she could buy one. lol
I attached another pic (even tho it's a crappy cell phone one).

Really? Thanks!! I recently revamped my entire room so everything is new from painting the wall to bed, couch, etc and I did it all by myself!! My friends tease me and tell me I'm a gay man who only sleeps with women. haha

I came across in a shop the Carmen Electra pole. It is a multi piece and the sales person told me that she went to a convention where they were actually doing tricks on it. Looks similiar to the multi piece super pole from Platinum Stages.

Nope, I like it. That's totally my taste in furniture! If I went in your bedroom after a date.. erm, I mean like 10 dates.. and I saw you had shitty non-matching furniture and didn't really care about your house it would be a total deal breaker. Keep up the metrosexual interior decorating :)

I guess posting a separate thread would result in total chaos so I'll try here first-
I will be moving into a 3 bedroom home with 2 other roommates. Does anyone have any experience installing a pole on the 2nd floor? Is this not recommended?
I am worried about noise issues more so than property damage.

If you only EVER spin clockwise, then fine, but if you do anything in the opposite direction, you will un-do the pole and it will fall!

pnotitia the noise would all depend on what type of flooring you have. Concrete and you will be fine, wooden will be quite loud (I often come down from a pole session to see my parents watching the TV at 200 decibels :P )

WOW. Good to know!! For those with the Platinum Stages pole this won't happen because of how it's set up.

Not sure if anyone has mentioned the DIY pole... for about $50 you can buy a steel pole and pipe nipples from a building hardware-type place. You can get them to thread the pipe there. I recommend anyone going this route to sand the pole... great for someone saving for a PS or Xpole.
If you don't want it up permanently, there are ways of doing that as well. :D
Like this, for instance:

I don't have matching furniture which will strike me out with Loveandluxury, lol--but I did put this together for under 20$, and as you can see it supports my weight pretty well even under duress. If anyone is inspired to duplicate the arrangement, my only advice is to tie that up very tightly, and keep checking it as the rope/knots will naturally loosen up as time goes on, under duress.
I really like the sanding idea because the pole is slippery as all hell, but I kind of like that because then brass is so easy.
ETA--But this is pic-whoring, maybe pictures should be limited to PP where they belong. I just reported myself for this, lol!

Ok, this may have been asked before but I couldnt find it in the 17 pages of posts. Brain hurts :-[
Has anyone used a removable pole on really high ceilings? Mine are about 10-12 ft high. It seems like you would lose some stability with the extra 3-5ft ?

PS adapts safely up to 12 feet on a multipiece pole...up to 22' on a one piece.
I have used multipieces to 11 feet, with no worries or instability!

Mine is the multipiece on an almost 11" high ceiling and it's still holding strong :)

I'm wondering: To those of you that bought poles...do you actually use yours pretty regularly or did the novelty fade?
i use mine regularly - about 2x a week. and i might do a little spin on my way to the kitchen everyday ;) but ive also only had mine for a few months.
i was wondering if id use my pole nearly as much if it was in a different room. like out of sight out of mind. but right now its in the middle of the dining room :D so no worries!

You will be very happy with your XPole!
However, the Xpole should not cost more than $309 USD for chrome and $329 USD for titanium plus shipping - which is usually $40 at the most. Are you thinking of the price of the Xstage (which isn't out yet) but should be running around that price range?

Hi ladies-
I am part owner of a pole dancing company called Polesinsations. We sell X-poles, which in my opinion are the best. You can get a regular 2 inch chrome poles or 2 inch titanium (which is closest to brass) we also have the 1.77 inch pole. However, I would recommend the 2 inch since that seems to be the standard.
Our website address is polesinations.com, go to the shop page and all the info about the poles are one there.
Please note that we do have to order them and they take up to 7-10 business days to get to you. To place the order you would need to call us and that info is also on our site
Included with the pole comes directions and tools to help you put up your pole.
xoxo

HI Naomi. I've not ordered from them personally. That is a permanent pole...fixed to the ceiling and floor as are all their poles and pole kits. If that is what you want, I have recommended them to several studios and students and every one of them have come back to tell me what great service they have had with Markstaar and how happy they have been with their poles. They are very helpful in assisting you to figure out what you need to order.

ladies-
Please be aware that buying poles off of ebay can be a rip off. I am a pole instructor in San Diego CA and one of our students bought one and got totally ripped off. Besides I recieved a email telling me of the ebay scam last Summer.
We use X poles at our studio and love them. My recommendation would be X-pole, Platinum Stages (although I find there poles to be more slippery) and Danzer poles. And, although, you will pay full price by buying through a authorized dealer, it is much safer and secure for you to do it that way. You will get all the correct parts.
Sincerely,
polecreature

you can always make your own by going to superior bar products and ordering a brass pole for $75 and the mounting flanges of choice. If needing more support get a cheap 2" thick steel pipe from the local hardware store and slide inside of the brass. For less than $150 including shipping. This is how we have them in our strip clubs.
