It's funny, hearing people in their 20s and 30s talking about their fear of getting old. And some of you may be anti-health conscious--chemicals, risky behavior etc.

Why not befriend someone who is in their 60s and above so that you can realistically learn what it's like?

I did, I equate getting old with dying (which I am scared of). To me 30 represented an age where I could no longer look cute falling out of cabs drunk or act like an adolescent not that I ever did I had my first daughter at 19. 30-35 is also the time when your body starts showing the signs of aging and you start losing bone density etc.
I still have one friend who is 85 and this makes me appreciate the the fact that I can still do all the things I want to do.

I don't fear old age so much as outliving my husband, children or dearest friends.

If it is all our time to go I'd rather we be on a plane that crashes and we go together.

I don't want to be old and alone. Old is fine, alone is nothing I could handle.
