Um...must haves? Sp really aren't very Sc friendly, depending on your situation. The Legendary Pink Dots are hands down amazing, but probably even less appropriate. This would be a boring 5 page text if I went into detail....PM me, sir.

Yep I'm looking for my own personal collection first, anything SC-playable will be a bonus. Pro-Test is off the hook!!

So anyone with cool industrial gems let 'em fly

(I have a pretty healthy library, I'm very interested in some rare stuff... but all hints are appreciated)

Christopher I'll hit you up shortly

Hah I just found that Legendary Pink Dots folder from Wednesday night, I did manage to rip it before he asked for it back, I'm a crook. Crushed Velvet Apocolypse

Christopher I'm sure you have it already but if not you're welcome to the entire cd (at 192kbs) let me know and I'll stick it on a server for you.

the dj said that it's his "personal policy" not to burn things for anyone. i asked him if instead he could help me find the song otherwise. he said he didn't believe that sp's drumme wouldn't know about optimize. this time i managed to catch a few of the lyrics.

it sounds something like this. please forgive me if the lyrics are completely wrong--i'm often more focused on dancing than the lyrics:

"just looking at something.
just looking at something
just looking at something.
ahh....ahhh.."

does this help?

I have things to do tonight, when I have some free time I'll check out Russian and Eastern European bootlegs.... try googling "skinny puppy bootleg cdr" if you have time to search yourself.

"Just Looking At Something..."....That song is called "I'mmortal". Track 1 off their last cd called "The Greater Wrong Of The Right. Go listen to it and let me know, but that's gotta be it. Yeah, I also find it hard to believe that the drummer of a band wouldn't know a song, nor the leader of their message board blah blah blah. It's my "personal policy" not to be full of shit. CASE CLOSED!:D

I have Crushed Velvet Apocolypse on cassette, cd, and signed framed vinyl. If you're diggin' on the LPD, sir, I have no shit about 80-ish albums, that includes basically everything. LPD/Skinny Puppy side project is called The Tear Garden, btw. Excellent. I await your PM.

On a different and pointless note, I am so jazzed that SP are on the board as thread titles...TWICE! Dumb, I know, but hey. It's not fucking Gwen STFUani.

i bought the cd today and am on my way to becoming a skinny puppy fan. i guess the dj didn't know the song's real name but he sure made it harder to find. i'm going to work on wednesday and have him listen to a song that i want him to play for me...it'll be "i'mmortal".

MrChristopher
11-20-2006, 11:42 PM
That's the best way to do it. Bring in the cd and be all "Hey, this one track "I'mmortal" is amazing, would you play it?" PWNED. (New cd in January from the boys, btw.)

Well? We're waiting for Mr Shithead's delicious retort. What happened?

mina loy
11-26-2006, 11:54 PM
bah.

i put the cd in my cd player and said, "hey! there's a song on here i want you to listen to."
so i played it for him and he said, "this is i'mmortal."
i said, "yeah. it's not optimize."
he said, "we must be talking in different languages."
me: "maybe. so can you play it for me sometime?" (smile)
dj: "let me see if i have it *chuckle*"

that's what happened. it wasn't so exciting but it did get a laugh out of him. case closed!

I'm not all that awake at the moment so I'm not sure whether I'm just out of it... or this guy really played some weird game of lie-about-the-song-title-to-someone-you-work-with-every-night??

He sounds like a champ

nah. i've asked him for titles of other songs and i've always been able to find them and download them for myself. i much prefer him over the other dj at our club who plays terrible boring-ass music and can't get a crowd going to save his life.

Ya know? He probably didn't know the name of the song in the first place. He was covering his ass. Greater Wrong of the Right is a frickin good record.

Hi DJOser.

Too Dark Park is an ALBUM like I've never heard. I like that it has a beginning, middle and end.

For the club, I enjoy dancing to Assimilate and Testure. I'd do Incision of I thought I could get away with it.

I cannot choose a favorite Skinny Puppy song. I know I like the Tear Garden very much, because Edward KaSpel is awesome. Ophelia is my favorite TG song. And I liked the Charlie's Family Soundtrack by Download.
They are my favorite. Of all time.

I just pre-ordered the new cd "Mythmaker" from IsoTank. Wheeeeee. It comes out January 31. (or 24th, depending on who you want to believe.)

Skinny Fucking Puppy, people. Yes Yes.

Clips from the new cd "Mythmaker" can be found here: http://www.musicnonstop.co.uk/product-view.php?productid=17634

I'm not really digging it so far, but honestly I hate every album they have ever put out at first, I have to give them at least 4 spins all the way thru before I decide.

Have you seen this? This was taken in 2004 in San Antonio Texas. I had just won a bet against him concerning a certain vice of ours. He was convinced that I could not hang in this department and I showed him up.

There is a book written by a friend of Ogre's....i havnt read it. aparently the story is she was a suicidal cutter and in an effort ot reach out to someone she wrote letters to her fav bands. he was the only one who wrote back, they began a coresbonce and became friends (she even bailed them out of jail once). for her birthday he gave her all the letters she wrote to him, its called "Go ask Ogre".

Throw advice my way all you want!

What started as a quick update the ol' library has turned into a humbling lesson in wicked industrial. I had no idea how deep their repertoire really was. I've been downloading everything I can find and it just doesn't stop. I'm having to find time to sift through it all

If you can find the remix of Worlock by SP that Marilyn Manson did for the Tapeworm Project I guarantee you will fucking die. It's definitely strip-club playable.

MrChristopher
12-10-2006, 01:46 AM
^^^I have heard of this mix twice now. No mention of it on any of the official SP boards, nor on their site. Just did another search of www.litany.net, and no results. I found one listed as such on Limewire, and it's just the single mix "Worlock(ed)". As far as I know, Manson has never ever ever done an actual SP mix. Please send me a link to whatever version you have, I would appreciate it.

Try looking under NIN or Marilyn Manson, I'll PM you if you would like to hear the tracks I have available, SLSK has 128 kbs copies floating around.

Is this the rumored Tapeworm thing with Trent and Maynard and whoever? I'll see what I can dig up. Thanks for the PM, Maimed.

You were able to find it then? It is the 'rumored' project and unreleased so probably no official mention to be found. I got my copy from the best DJ ever: Dr. John at Spearmint Rhino S.B. But I've seen it out in internet-land a couple times usually listed erroneously, as previously mentioned, under Marilyn Manson or NIN.

MrChristopher
12-11-2006, 02:14 PM
Alrighty. I found 4 listings for it under various versions of SP, MM, NIN, Tapeworm, and assorted spellings of "Worlock". 1 version is the aforementioned single mix called "Worlock(ed)". The other 3 are all "Rhys Fulber's Eye Of The Beholder Mix" from the SP "Remix Dystemper" cd from '98 or so. I can't find a link to that cd track since I think it's out of print, but I'll keep looking so we can compare and contrast.

This might help with your quest Mr.Chris....look up "Tapeworm Lies" as this seems from what I've gathered so far to be the name of the disc....other notes of interest.... tracks that I have found so far include (don't shoot me as this is off the internet);

Appendage (Unreleased) ....possibly from NIN's fragile outtakes
Chemical ....once more credited to NIN
Soul .......Cool song..can't tell who it is though and no credit given
