KFC's number one supplier is very cruel to their chickens. The feathers probably didn't come off when it was being scalded alive.
I hope people do stop going there.

Yeah, if those chickens were dogs or cats, these people would be sent to prison for animal cruelty.
But instead they are "supplier of the year".

Ick...I think you all just made me a vegetarian!
When I was younger, I had six chickens that I kept as pets. They lived a long, happy life. And your right, if those chickens were dogs or cats, those people responsible would be sent to prison.

one of my family members worked at KFC and as he was one of the only staff members who had a car, they would pay him $100.00 to travel between store to store with frozen chicken in his boot, so all of the shops have enough chicken.... I was shocked when I heard this story, and after telling him what germs, bacteria and disease can bread in doing that, he has since stopped..... Though I know that other people at that store (and many others) have been approached with the same proposition... I can remember about a year ago, red rooster was in the media for the same thing! (Beenleigh QLD store was featured)
How much chicken can you get in a boot? Didn’t it make his feet cold?

^^^
A "boot" in Australia refers to the part of a car that we Americans call a "trunk."

hey, it could be worse. My friend got a cockroach fried right onto his piece of chicken from Popeye's. It was stuck to the side in the batter.

Blehh. I always knew that place was nasty.
Sidenote: when I worked at GNC across from Popeye's, people would come over with buckets of fried chicken under their arms and ask me a question that still baffles me: "What's the best thing use in order to lose weight?"
After getting over my shock, I would silently point at their fried calorie wedges. I mean, come on! Seriously, how can you not see the connection between eating crap and looking like crap? They made my brain hurt.

Yeah, I'll admit I like popeye's too even after hearing about the roach. I usually only eat it when I'm sick though. Way too fattening to eat otherwise.

And Red Lobster in my area as well is NASTY. They have huge lobster for sale to eat. Anyway, they don't feed them while they await their death???
I went with a friend once (they would not allow us again) to feed them...my gosh what a fucked up world. But Red Lobster will tell you they go weeks without food and this will not harm them...Bull shit! Some are so damn weak and stressed, over crowded tank.....DAH....people suck.
They can go for weeks with out no food however they will start eating their meat inside their body to the point when you finally cook it to eat it, it will taste horrible, the meat will have shrunken and very dry tasting :)

The feather thing is common at ANY place that serves fried chicken. (or any bone-in chicken) Gross, but common. I used to do catering and event planning and we'd get shipments of raw chicken pieces alll the time ....and basically our kitchen staff would have to pluck the stray feathers off by hand. And yes, they occasionally missed some. If people called and complained all we'd do is give them a small gift certificate off of their next catered meal.

So, Pamela, why are they allowed to use the work "chicken" on their menu?
I think you are wrong and I'm not sure why are saying this since:
A) there is no evidence (even in PETA propoganda)
B) it hurts the animal rights cause if people believe it's not a real animal. it's a real animal and being abused doesn't change that.
C) It also hurts the cause by suggesting that only KFC is bad, but other restaurants are good. So you can support ethical farming by eating at other restaurants. No other restaurant is forced to change their name and many are serving tortured animals
Honestly though, I think it was a decision made by their parent company, YUM Brands (essentially PepsiCo) as a rebranding and/or marketing thing. (I didn't read your links earlier....I'm just going off my basic knowledge of PepsiCo, so I could be wrong)

oh god. I'm so grossed out right now. I've been avoiding fast food places lately, sick of not knowing exactly what I am eating.
