I have heard that there is good money at the Body Shop if you don't mind going nude and dealing with late night raucous crowds. I never worked there personally but my perverted ass has dropped some cash as a custy and the booths have always been full of private dances when I have been there. Did you check the reviews section?

I personally hated the Body Shop. I know a lot of other dancers (some on this board) didn't care for it either.
The manager has a pimp complex, the stage sucks, the dressing room is tiny (with rickety and dangerous stairs leading to the main floor/stage also), the dance booths are too small (with a cashier staring at you the whole time), too many non-paying custys and tourists (young gawkers) and let's see...you have to PAY for parking and there is no security guard to walk you to and from the car.
BAD club, IMO. I think I gave it a negative review if you want to read the rest in the club reviews section.

Yeah, I'm not sure I'd work at the Body Shop for a thousand bucks a night (not that you'd ever make that there). The one day I was there was the worst of my entire stripping career. It's seriously the WORST club in Los Angeles, if not the world.
The most I've brought home here is about $1200...but my high averages are more like $700. Most of the time my nights are around $150 - $300. I believe you have to work in dirty clubs to make significant money here, even if you don't do extras. Don't get me wrong, extras are happening in almost every club at some point, but I'm talking about clubs where sex in VIP is almost expected. Those clubs bring in more paying customers than the usual lurkers found in clean clubs.
I have had many very clean and prosperous nights in LA. You really have to shop around and find the best spot and be comfortable fending off unwanted advances. My view is that those advances are made even in bikini bars so I might as well run with the big dogs and make my cash. It's stressful but there IS more money to be made if you know how to hustle these particular customers.
Yep it wouldn't surprise me if the COI clubs are increasingly pulling business away from other clubs. From what I've read they're packed even on traditionally slow Weekday nights :O

Anyone have experiences working at Taboo in OC (either La Habra or Anaheim)
I know this is a little south of LA but I'm wondering if its worth the drive to check out. I haven't heard much about them at all. Maybe no news is good news eh?

I worked at the Taboo in Anaheim and stopped into the La Habra location. I posted a review of the Anaheim club, but basically, I didn't have much luck. The crowd is VERY young which didn't work for me at all. The fees are high, IMO, for what you can make ($200-400). The dances are bikini, but there is contact and custies will expect you to move your bikini around in the VIP (which also didn't work for me). Some of the girls seemed to be making money, though. If you do well with a young crowd, give it a shot. It's a pretty club.
La Habra club is slow and has a shoddy reputation. I wouldn't bother.

A girl there once asked if she could make out with me in the VIP room. o.O;

Hmm, I might give it a try then. I'm just lookin to get my feet wet and try dancing in general. I've been doing bikini bartending for a while and figure I have to put up with all of the same assholes with less of the pay. I look super young so the youngish crowd shouldn't be a problem (although who doesn't prefer the older guys that tip well lol).
Btw, is it a place where a blonde with a heavy German accent will go over well? I've learned to work it to my advantage bartending and try to play up the whole oktoberfest beergirl shtick. Either that or I figure it won't be a problem and I'll just talk less =) Oh well, I'll give it a shot
TY!

Accents of any kind are nearly always profitable!

When I came back as Sheila dancing to Kylie Minogue with an Aussie accent, I BANKED!

Wow, I'll have to see if I can remember how to do Aussie again. I definitely noticed a big increase in earnings when I played up my Southern drawl though... normally my accent's pretty faded these days, but when I drawl like a Mississippi belle I make a lot more money. The exception to that was in downtown L.A. at my first club; so many of the customers barely spoke English at all, they couldn't understand anything I said in a Southern accent. ::)
