So, then, in the customer's opinion, is it (more) offensive for the tattoo to include someone's name (ie the dancer's boyfriend, child, etc.)? Is it a turn off, or do you feel neutral about it? Anyone like it, lol?

I don't think I've ever really looked all that close or long at any dancer's tattoos. Probably they are meaningful to her, but other people's tats rarely draw my attention. As for the name of a BF... assuming anyone notices at all, I don't know. It looks like some customers have said they are turned off by wedding rings (yea, yea, stupid, but part of their brain gets it, part of their brain wants to go on believing the dancer is single/available). I guess you could derive from that many don't want to hear about a dancer's BF relationship or be reminded she is in one (unless I suppose it's one of those SS cases where the dancer rags on about her sucky BF and how she can't talk to him the way she talks to the customer, you know the hustle...).

Bottom line is I doubt it matters, but if you want to cover all your bets, you're better off without your BFs named tattooed on your skin. If you must or already have, de-emphasize it or hide it if you don't want to risk losing a few customers who prefer living in the delusional state that the dancer is single. I suppose some would also advise you to lie about if asked - I however think at that point lose the few sales, and keep your sense of integrity (you'll sleep better and at least mine is worth more then a few bucks).

For clarity, I have a tattoo, but it certainly doesn't have anyone's name on it. :) It's small, tasteful, and on my big toe. :)

I have never seen a dancer and thought " she'd look better with tattoos " but I have seen dancers with tattoos and thought " she'd look so much better without them", but to each his own. As far as names go, I can accept the name or names of a woman's children, but any other names are a red flag. I also think the quality and quantity of a girls tattoos make a difference.
