I've been digging Katy Perry, but some of her music is too bubblegum-y for me.

This song is beautiful, IMO:
Katy Perry - Thinking of You (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3OOJaUo0cyE)

This is a cool cover of The Outfield's Use Your Love (I think that was the original):
Katy Perry - Use Your Love (http://http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h-8t9P5GBf4&feature=related)

And this is a song of hers that is played on the radio, I kinda like it, but it's kinda bubblegum sounding, IMO:
Katy Perry - I Kissed a Girl (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yD97wbqeEhg&feature=related)

I really like her voice, and her blog is pretty cool.

I picked up the new Puscifer remix cd today. I didn't even know one was coming out. It's interesting so far. Kinda dub, and then kinda noisy and glitchy, then kinda mellow. It would be excellent background music at the right kind of party.

Pete Shelley, "Homosapien" and LCD Soundsystem, "North American Scum," simultaneously, to see if I can get to the part where they sound exactly the same.

I'm ODing on this new band I dug up about a week ago called Hyper Crush. They're my new lil' electro-derived obsession! "Robo Techno" is off the freakin chain, yo!

Hang around me long enough and you'll start to realise that pretty much everything I listen to on a regular basis sounds exactly the same...anything that involves neon colours, American Apparel, and preferably a keytar...laptops are completely optional for musicial usage but absolutely necessary for use by the "Lighting Guy."

Arvo Part, Tabula Rasa. Haunting, manages to be stark and rich at the same time. Goes right to my gut. Kind of out there, but worth it (http://www.amazon.com/Tabula-Rasa-Arvo-Part/dp/B0000262K7/ref=pd_bbs_sr_1?ie=UTF8&s=music&qid=1211695881&sr=8-1).

ETA: Bizarrely, I can visualize a pole and silks dance to this.

I'm about to my goth on like it's 1988, only much quieter since the kids are asleep. Fields Of The Nephilim, The Mission, Christian Death, Siouxsie, etc. The usual suspects. Some Swans would be nice.

Inexplicably, earlier I had David Lee Roth's "Just A Gigolo/I Ain't Got Nobody" on the brain. That's twice this week, btw.

MrsC made Antony And The Johnson's version of "Be My Husband" her ringtone. So cheesy. I loves her.<3

I've been in a downtempo mood lately. I was rockin the Thievery Corp and Zero 7 earlier. Then I went back to Hyper Crush. Therefore I am feeling the need to find the nerest Mercedes to steal a hood ordenment off of.

But now I'm on the BrokenCYDE portion of the playlist which means electro-rap-scremo...ummm, somehow kinda cool.

^You know, our illustrious GM and I went to see Morrissey last summer. We left. I have funny stories aplenty though.

I'm listening to Client, the new Dresden Dolls, and The Start. Trying to find some playable stuff.

I have a dentist appointment in 5 1/2 hours. I might very well be missing a front tooth. Should be fun. That's a whole new thread though.

A friend keeps telling me I'll love the Dolls. I haven't heard anything yet that really grabbed me (I'm still on a Hooverphonic binge, and I wanna be sucked in like that), but I haven't listened to much by them either.

I love dancing to Coin Operated Boy. That song is like, the single greatest piece ever written about a dildo. Strangely, the customers seem to like me doing it cause it's so camp and theatric.

I'm currently rocking Apocalypse by Autobot Vs. Screwface on repeat simply because it is so fucking epic that it makes all my synapses explode. I have plans for this song. They're not my original plans for it...but they may wind up being even more fun. *Prays that Robby's deal works out*

Dood- I searched this song on youtube cuz I wanted to see what it was and it is SO SAD. So sad I can't even listen to it right now. I've been having bad dreams and waking up scared lately. This song is just too depressing for me. I have to go google pictures of puppies and baby seals now.

I should have put a warning on that post: do not listen if already in bummer land. It always provokes a reaction.

I associate the song with a very good, lazy, rainy, summer day a while ago.

I hope the nightmares get under control. :-\
