Latest cool single I have downloaded that wasn't just Top 40 is "Sweep the Leg" by No More Kings. Makes me think there might be more to hear from these guys.

Rammstein- "Seemann"
This song that was written by women at the Women's Encampment for Peace and Justice back in the 80's. The song is based on one woman's testimony in court after she got arrested for protesting. It's amazing. http://homepage.mac.com/pehp/iMovieTheater4.html

-This album by Bat For Lashes is nice. If Bjork and Sinead had a baby who played the harpsichord and covered Springsteen channeled through the Shangri-La's, this is more or less the end result. It's...nice.

Paige, have I told you lately that you're frickin' awesome? I love Collective Soul, and I have for years. One of the first concerts I ever saw was them, actually.
On another note, right now I'm listening to Three Days Grace - Never Too Late. I think they've come pretty far as a band in terms of songwriting. But then again, I enjoyed their first album, too.

It was Iron Maiden, and then Public Image Ltd, and now I'm taking it down a few notches. Sinead O' Connor, then maybe some Etta James.

The new (and apparently final) Ministry "The Last Sucker". Um...It's awful. The production blows. He's got Tommy Victor from Prong, Raven from Killing Joke, Burton Bell from Fear Factory on a few songs, and still, I'm not digging it. The cover of "Roadhouse Blues" is...eh. I'm gonna go feed the snake and turn on Bat For Lashes. I really like that album.

I gave the new Ministry another couple of listens. It's not awful, but well, it ain't all that great either. I like...3 songs? I really want to play "Revenge" off their very first synthpop album from '83, and then play one of these new AAURGHHH songs next to it, just for the sheer chuckle factor.
Here, I'll amuse anyone who cares:
Old Ministry: http://youtube.com/watch?v=sET1lhBMNiU
New Ministry: http://youtube.com/watch?v=CBGMW86u1Qk
I couldn't find a video for the new album, that last one is a few years old. Still, the difference is hilarious. Yes, that's the same guy singing.

^One of our bouncers was run off the road, off about a 40 foot embankment, smashed his car all to shit...."Bad Luck" was what was playing when he wrecked. He walked away from it unscathed.
I'm currently groovin' to Tom Waits' "Heart Attack & Vine" album. "On The Nickel" is what's on right now.

Cornflake Girl by Tori Amos.
When I first heard it I thought it was about stripping. But I looked it up on songmeanings.net and I appear to be wrong. The prevalent theory seems to be female genital mutilation. Hmm, who knew?
