Well yeah, you could lie about it but wouldn't that compromise your super-secret moderator honesty code pledge or somethin'?
Besides, if it where to actually happen I would back you up...not that I can't be bought or anything....
Honesty? Puh-shaw Yoda. You outta know I wouldn't agree to anything like that.
But this later part - does this mean I would have to bribe to you to back up my appalling and obvious lies, or that other people would have to bribe you to tell the unfortunate truth?

Yeah, that would have been a deal-breaker for me too...

Well, as is usually the case with shady practices like bribery, my story (and I'm stickin' to it!) would go to the highest bidder...;)

Isn't two for ones good for business? I am not a marketing major but just from what I can tell it seems to get things going for a few days afterwards.....I think of it more as helping everyone win but I am not as selfish and greedy as some of the women in this business!

^^^^ What is selfish and greedy about wanting to be paid a decent amount? Selfish to whom? I don't understand your logic here. If you are a dancer you would understand why this topic gets a lot of dancers annoyed.
These half price dances make it basically (from what I'm reading) $10 per dance.
I think getting paid $10 for what we do is ridiculous.
The minimum dance price at my club is $20 for one song and most girls don't even offer these dances, we only offer $50 dances. I mean we are getting effin naked we should be paid well for it.

I second that! Selfish and greedy? I'm used to hearing it from some of the blue side guys, but from another dancer (if indeed you are a dancer)?!? "Helping everyone win"? Does not compute.
Thank gods my new clubs don't pull the 2-for-1, ever. My old one charged $30 for the two songs plus a (t-shirt, hat, shot glass, whatever giveaway item). We had to give the club $15 of it. So I earned LESS money for TWO songs than I ordinarily did for ONE.
I did not enjoy this, or think of it as some sort of charitable act for the greater good. Does this make me selfish? I think it makes me SANE.

oy, I hate those 2 for 30 with a giveaway!!!! but, it's 60$ extra $$ at the end of the night, which is tip out, so all my other money (unless i do vps) is directly to me!!!!

I've never worked in a club that had a 2-4-1 dance, but I have worked in clubs where you had to sell promos, which annoyed me. A promo would be like a tee shirt, alarm clock or some such shit. You would have to walk accross the stage, and then get down and hustle to sell your item. Heaven help you if you ended up at the tail end of the line, because all the guys would probably have gotten promos allready. You had to pay 10 for the item, and sell it and a dance for twenty. At best you get a 10 dollar dance, at worst you end up with a shitty tee shirt and ten dollars in the hole. It was shitty too because it breaks up the flow of conversation you're in with your customer... the only hustle I ever got out of this was yelling, "Quick lets go to VIP now so you can save me from doing this horrible promo!!"

2 for 1's are alright sometimes. if the crowd needs some sort of catalyst to get them in the back and there seems to be a decent shot of them staying back there for a while, then i don't mind. as long as they cut the songs shorter and don't waste a lot of time getting the special started.
but at my club the 2 for 1's have become predictable. one dj has been running them every 20 freaking minutes. then he runs them back to back!!! so guys get 2 in a row. i'm So not okay with that. especially when, even then, 75% of the guys are still not taking dances.
then the other night they ran a promo dance. 3 dances plus a t-shirt for $30 and the girls had to give $10 to the house. And they ran each song a full 3 1/2 minutes. it was a Huge waste of time >:(
sometimes i feel like i work at the 99cent store of strip clubs :-\

2 for 1s and dollar dances are two decent ways to jazz up a dead crowd that instead get wildly overused and end up promoting cheapness instead.
since most managers don't know how to use them (which is sparingly), they should just be tossed out in the majority of clubs that have them.

When the DJ announces a 2 for 1 I hide. I'm not gonna get stuck with some cheap ass hole for 6 minutes and make $13. Now, if the club practiced what they preached and took a cut of 1/6 of my earnings instead of 1/3 on those damn things, I might change my mind, but untill then, I'll be under the table in the dressing room, thank you.

You see--it doesn't matter to a guy if the free dance is short or not as enthusiastic as the paid dance.
Like Harrison Ford said in Six Days and Seven Nights: "How does a girl interest a guy? Easy--you show up. We're guys--we're easy."
Even if the dance is not that great, you've still got a [pick one] naked/topless/pastied/bikinied sexy, beautiful girl [pick one] sitting/cuddling/dancing on your lap for longer than you paid for.
Likely, he will be so happy that unless you got his last dollar with the first dance, he will buy more when the special is over. As I said above, write the second dance off your taxes as advertising.
The only way you will get the clubs to stop doing this is if you convince them that they lose money by doing it.
Now, FWIW, MY pet peeve is being required to buy a $10 drink fruit punch for a dancer who doesn't want it and who isn't going to drink it. I'd rather give her the $10 as a tip. But, what can you do?

Clubs wouldn't need to run these silly blue light specials if they'd just make the regular price attainable for most people (and when it is attainable, I really don't see the point of specials).
I certainly don't make a habit of going in on half-price night or waiting for the once an hour twofer, but there have been instances I've taken advantage of these deals simply because thats the only time the price was within my limits.
Another thing that has always bewildered me is how so many clubs will offer half-price dances for merely showing up at the right time, but very few offer any sort of package pricing which would encourage customers to buy multiples.
For example:
Single song $20 (20)
*Set of 4 songs = $70 (20-20-20-10)
*Set of 12 songs = $200 (20-20-20-10-20-20-20-10-20-20-20-FREE)
*Anything past 12 songs = 3/$50 (20-20-10...20-20-10...)
* All dances have to be bought from the same dancer. Any intermissions in the action are up to her.
Worst case scenario, a gal is still getting better than 80% of the single song price.
But I won't hold my breath on that plan becoming reality. Most customers don't want/can't afford that level of involvement anyway.

I love this idea, and I totally wish we'd do it!!!! four for 70$ s great, and I bet I could get a lot!!! of guys to get that, rather then just 2 or 3. that extra 10 or 30$ sounds nice :)
I also like the idea of buy 5 get 1 free :)
those are the type of deals I'd like, b/c 241 doesn't make many guys want to do multiples!!

they sort of do this at my club...customers can get 1/2 hour or and hour at a rate that ends up equaling about 8 dances for $100 rather than 5...

I've never worked at a 2 for 1 club and don't plan on it. I think it would just bring even more cheapasses (Starplayers) into the club. It's hard enough making money in Houston so there's no way I'd dance for under $20.

most of the time, during 2-for-1's, i'll just say the price is $20 if the guy asks. a lot of guys don't pay attention and don't even know there's a 2-for-1 going on. i charge regular price whenever i can get away with it. if the guy knows about the 2-for-1 and i only end up getting paid $10 per dance, then oh well... i would never hassle the guy into paying full price or get bitchy about it. if the guy catches me up and says "hey, isn't it a 2-for-1 right now??" when i tell him the price is $20, then i'll just play dumb like i didn't know about it either.
so i try to rebel against the 2-for-1's, but i'll still work for half price if i absolutely have to. it's not worth getting bitchy about or hiding in the dressing room. even if it's half price, it's still better than nothing. i probably wouldn't bother if i was having a really good night though, i'd be all cocky like "i got tons of money so I DON'T NEED THIS SHIT!"
i think these specials only help out during really slow times. other than that, they are generally lame.

try working in a club that all you do all night long is fuckin 2 for 1's, and if you dont ask you owe for the dance. i guess thats the perks of working in a small town club. i personally loath 2 for ones! but you gotta do what cha gotta do!!!
