^^I think I've seen that before, crazy huh?? I can't imagine taking the time to do all that!

This look is loosely based on the new Barbie loves MAC collection. The only thing that is actually from the collection is the green eyeshadow (Springtime Skipper). I try not to buy new products that are really close to things I already have.

Lucky Jade shadestick - lid
Crimsonaire shadestick - crease, outer v, and underneat
Shimmersand shadestick - browbone and blended into crimsonaire
Springtime Skipper e/s - on top of lucky jade
Fuchsia pigment - on top of crimsonaire
Maroon pigment - outer v and lightly in crease to darken
Arena e/s - browbone blended down
Fluidline Blacktrack to line

You can view the look here:

LoveSexMoney - I used the lucky jade shadestick in this one.

Wowowowow! You are so freakin great! I absolutely LOVE the way you do makeup, I only wish I was that good. I'll get there eventually but hey.

That tip on keeping inner rim eyeliner to stay was good, that's one of my main makeup gripes.

Whee this thread is inspiring! :D *is in a good mood*

This is my basic black look:
http://i25.photobucket.com/albums/c86/latinrose222/makeup48.jpg
http://i25.photobucket.com/albums/c86/latinrose222/makeup49.jpg

Sharkskin shadestick - on lid up to the crease (use concealer brush to blend), to the outer corner and underneath
Shimmersand shadestick - on browbone and blended into the sharkskin
Carbon e/s - packed on top of sharkskin shadestick and blended out to the cat eye shape. Use and angle brush to blend it underneath and help create that shape.
Arena e/s - on browbone and blended into the carbon
Vanilla pigment - applied lightly just under the brow and blended down
Blacktrack fluidline to line

Guys always think this pink and black look is sexy:
http://i25.photobucket.com/albums/c86/latinrose222/makeup44.jpg
http://i25.photobucket.com/albums/c86/latinrose222/makeup45.jpg

Canton Candy - base all over the lid and up to browbone, a bit in the inner corner too
Fuchsia pigment - lid
Beauty Marked e/s - outer v and crease
Reflects Red pigment - all over everything, apply before liner. This stuff is really cool, almost glitter, but really fine and only sparkles when it catches the light. I have it in blue, gold, and pearl, too! Great for when you still want some "stripper sparkle" but it won't get on custies and it's not as over the top as glitter.
Fluidline blacktrack to line

I'm thinking about making a "stripper makeup" tutorial. I've done one tutorial before and it took forever, so before I start, what sort of look would you ladies like to see??

For the black one above what did you put on your inner lids? The white stuff -what is it?

yup I'd also like a pink and black tut please!

Also in the basic black look- on the bottom of your eyes did you line the outside? What did you use to smudge it?

LatinaRose

K, I'm slowly going through and editing my posts to add what was used. It's really hard to remember what I used in the earlier posts, they were from awhile ago!

EDIT: all previous posts have been edited to include products except the first one, for some reason it won't let me.

Here's a link to an ebay auction for MAC pigment samples:

This is a great way to try a lot of new pigments w/o spending a lot of money. 1/4 teaspoon sample is a lot more than it sounds - enough for 20-30 uses. If I really like one and use it all up, then I'll buy a full-size one. If I hate it, oh well, no biggie. I've bought quite a few pigments this way and it's really helped to beef up my collection and options. Also, I have a friend that is really into MAC too. Whenever we go buy pigments, I'll usually buy one and she buys one. Then we split them into sample jars and give each other a very generous amount. I have never gone through a full-size jar from MAC, so we share :)

Thank God It's Francis

^you have fantastic brows in the first one! hard to see your makeup in the black and white photo, tho.

This is the Make Up For Ever (MUFE) quad I talked about earlier in the thread:
http://i25.photobucket.com/albums/c86/latinrose222/makeup55.jpg

The colors are very bright and matte, this is what it looks like on:
http://i25.photobucket.com/albums/c86/latinrose222/makeup43.jpg
http://i25.photobucket.com/albums/c86/latinrose222/makeup42.jpg

The colors are very pretty, but I still have hard time blending matte colors. I do think the matte colors from MUFE are easier to blend than matte e/s from MAC.

Pvt. Picaresque, reporting for stripper duty! :)

Though I will probably take these down sometime in the future--I like my anonymity online--here's some of me being all purple and glittery-linered. Please excuse the extreme pastiness. blah. :P

purples are one of my faves.

LR, in the MUFE quad above, did you use ONLY the colors in the quad or did you punch up the outer v with some black? I'm diggin' the matte hot pink.

Wow! I love that MUFE quad. A couple of MUA I've spoken to are using more MUFE than MAC. I think that's what I'll do also.

LoveSexMoney
03-01-2007, 08:08 PM
holy crap I just checked on sephora and mufe is rather expensive. single e/s's are $18-19! Compare that to mac's e/s pans or even the pots.

Darling
03-01-2007, 09:21 PM
LoveSexMoney,

The MUFE ones are alot bigger! I think that they have almost twice the amount of shadow as Mac does. Their line is directed to make up artists who use alot more that we do. But, one e/s would last you forever!

I'm so jealous. All these beautiful colours!! I look hideous with makeup (especially colours) whether I do it myself, or have it done :(

LatinaRose

LSM - I did darken the outer corners with carbon or beauty marked in that picture. The bright pink is really fab, but I rarely use it. MUFE shadows are much bigger than MAC's - 2.5g vs 1.3g! It's so much more! Unfortunately in America, you are limited to mostly buying at Sephora (they don't carry the entire line and only offer single shadows, no pans). In Toronto, they have a counter at Sears (weird, too, sears here has a dior, chanel, etc, counter) where you can make palettes just like at MAC. The quad with the four shadows, I paid about $50 canadian, I think, maybe a bit more. You can get a 3 pan palette too. They also have a wider range of shadows and blushes than MAC. Oh, and all of their blushes are made to be used as shadows and vice versa. They have a store in NYC where you can do this and there are various theatre supply shops across the country that carry the line, not many tho. You can order a palette over the phone from the NYC store. I would go play with what I like at Sephora, check their site to see the full line of shadows, then order it from NYC.

babystripper - I used this waver:

I love it! Its like a triple barrel waver, but instead of tight kinky waves, you get bigger looser ones. It's really easy to use and you can make tight waves or loose ones. Oh, and you can get it Target, too!

LatinaRose: I love love love your make-up!!! Can you please post what you used on your face as well (foundation, powder, blush,...)? Thanks!!

Sure! I usually always wear the same thing. All MAC, unless otherwise noted:

Select Cover NW30 & 40
Select SPF 15 NW40
Loose Blot Powder Medium Dark
Bronzer in Matte Bronze
NARS blush in Outlaw
MUFE blush #111
Mineralize SkinFinish in Shooting Star and Porcelain Pink
Iridescent Powder in Belightful
Tony & Tina Cosmetic Powder in Perfect Pink

^^I don't wear all those blushes, bronzers, and highlighters at the same time, usually a combo of some of them. Sometimes I'll use MAC pigments (like vanilla) as highlighters too.

I'm so girl nextdoor :-[ I just can't make myself look made up....what to do...i followed the directions in the tutorial

You have high eyebrows, so you'll need to bring the darker shadow up above the crease a bit more. Mine are like that too, but if you apply the darker shadow higher it'll look really good.

Im big on smokey eyes, But I use 2 shades of blues, shimmer on the lid itself, greens ( 3 shades ) 2 goldens..and than a true gold...gray and 2 shades of black mixed with 2 shades of purple haha.. I literally use that much in one night to form one shade. i hate fake lashes so I stray away from em'. although I think if I used them it would add more umph to my eyes

^^Darcy, that is so hot!!! Can you please tell me what you used? Esp the light blue, I love that color! What did you use to make it so sparkly??

On the lid I used Napoleon Sparkle Dust in #3, and on the brow bone and on the inner corners of my eye I used another Napoleon Sparkle Dust, although the sticker on the bottom has come off so I'm not sure what colour it is... it's just their white sparkly one.

I used the MAC Kohl Pencil in Smolder on the upper inner lid, and along the bottom. Then I lined the top lid in MAC Liquidlast Liner in Aqualine.

I used Napoleon China Doll Gel Liner to do the flicks to the side, then used the Aqualine along the tops of the flicks

Here's the exact same look, but done in green instead of turquoise.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v11/candycane/DSC03876.jpg

I used all the same products and method as above, except I used Sugar Baby Sparkle Dust in Green Blink on the Lid, and the MAC Liquidlast Liner in Greenplay.

I found out you can still get it in Aus, but at very limited places. The only place in Adelaide that sells it is actually the Makeup College that I studied at. I don't think there's any department stores that stock it anymore... it used to be in David Jones.

LatinaRose
03-05-2007, 01:03 PM
Hmm, they have a Napolean counter here (also at sears), but I've never really stopped to check it out. I was too distracted by MUFE, haha. I'll have to stop over there and check out their line. What else do you like from their line??

^^This link is all the locations you can buy Make Up For Ever. I know you can order over the phone from the NYC boutique (not sephora) and imagine you can probably do this from any of their boutiques. I would do that over Sephora since it's cheaper ($19 for single e/s vs. $15 for palette pans) and you have wider selection. I was just cruising their site and now I want to go shopping! This thread is bad for me!

For those of you who don't know, as an entertainer you are entitled to a 30% discount at MAC. You need to apply for it and pay a $35 membership fee. It is only valid at freestanding stores and online at macpro.com, not at counters. If anyone is interested, I will post the info.

LatinaRose, your blending talents are just AMAZING! What tools do you use? Sponges?

How do you girls get your color to stay? I use She Laq by Benefit, but it's kind of harsh. :(

LatinaRose
03-05-2007, 09:24 PM
^^Thanks! I use shadesticks and paints from MAC as a base for shadows. I also use their Glittercreme. I have also heard great things about Urban Decay's Primer Potion. My favorite brush for blending is MAC 217 - it is awesome! I also really like this brush from Sephora, the "short round crease brush". Good for really precise application.

I started a thread for the MAC discount, including link to the application.

Darcy - you have a makeup artist license right? Did you know that not only can you get a bigger discount at MAC, MUFE, Nars, Stila, etc, all offer discounts to makeup artists?? Unfortunately, not to entertainers!!! If you want the info, let me know!

This one took forever! The eyeliner is similar to the tutorial Emily posted, which I think is really hot.

Looking back, I think those lashes are a bit creepy. Next time I do this look, I'll use thick, full lashes.

Stilife paint all over, Glittercreme all over on top of that, Teal pigment in Crease, Provence pigment on lid, Blacktrack to line. Stilife applied w/ angle brush from outer corner of eye out between the top and bottom line. Vanilla pigment w/ mixing medium applied on top of that.

I on the flipside LOVE the lashes! In my day to day, non-work life I have a 60s mod look, so these would be perfect for me. Who makes them?

LatinaRose
03-06-2007, 10:25 AM
^^I got those lashes at Sally Beauty. Don't know the name or number, but they should be right around all the other lashes. IDK, I kinda like them, I kinda don't. I like em with a bright color peeking through, I guess, but I'm scared to use them again.

Here is a Mardi Gras inspired look:

http://i25.photobucket.com/albums/c86/latinrose222/makeup56.jpg
http://i25.photobucket.com/albums/c86/latinrose222/makeup52.jpg

I really like this combo! Unfortunately, no lashes since I wasn't going to work, but I think this would be super hot with them. Shimmersand shadestick, Teal, Grape, Golden Lemon pigments, Arena e/s, Blacktrack to line.

that's gorgeous

btw, I officially hate any eyeshadow from Urban Decay with glitter in it. it gets everywhere. I can't blend it without glitter falling all over my cheecks and I keep seeing it on customers. The shimmers though, I love. I think I'll stick with MAC.

Thanks for posting that. I'm about to go buy a couple different UD eyeshadows since I have only tried one awhile ago. Which ones do you like from them?? I want to try their new deluxe ones. They have gotten a lot of love on specktra and the colors look really bright and intense. More expensive, but it looks like you get more product.

I also want to say DON'T buy these shadows from Pop Beauty:

They look really cute, but they blend like shit. Really cheap product, IMO.

Emily
03-06-2007, 03:59 PM
oh, I've played with the deluxe ones at Sephora and really liked them. They are huge and so vibrant. I'd totally go for that. The ones I don't like are the regular shadows with glitter (the ones with "G" next to them and little glitters in the color sample)...like Maui Wowie or Cherry.

the "shimmers" are fine though. I'm glad I got the shadowbox and not full-sized products.
