see, but utahmike and alexxa said different things! alexxa said to leave food out, which is what i do. i always leave dry food out, and i put down half a can of wet food a day. i only put that down at night, because when i put it down in the day he wastes it. as for not mixing the wet and dry, the vet told me thats good for him :-\

Ruby is a beautiful kitty.
Were you trying to torture me, lol? I had to wade through three pages of beautiful kitties, doggies, cockatoos, owls, possums, etc. to see her--she's the third photo on page 3!
whoops, sorry. ruby has a site in honor of her. it's kept up by my ex's mom. here it is: http://www.airynothing.net/rubysperch.html
she has one of the most obnoxious meows ever.

It's not that physically mixing the wet and dry food is bad, it's that problems can develop from feeding too much wet food.
I think it's better to leave a bowl of dry food for him to graze on throughout the day than feed too much wet food. I suppose it's a matter of opinion.

AWWW!! That is so sad you can't see her. At least you know she is being well cared for, though. She looks quite happy.

haha, i understood what you meant. i was just confused because utahmike said dont leave food down, put it down at scheduled times. i think its better for me to leave it out anyway because my schedule is wacky with school and stuff.

Yea, just check his paws till they look all healed up.
I don't give my cat wet food unless he's sick. Male neutered cats tend to get fat & mine started putting on a belly a couple months after he got neutered. I didn't want him to be one of those freak-show 20 pound cats, so now he eats Science Diet Light dry food. I leave food in the dish all the time, if I don't he meows incessantly (I'm totally his bitch). He's almost 3 & weighs a little more than 11 pounds. Some cats do over-eat so I guess when he's older if he's putting too much weight on, then limit the food, but it shouldn't be an issue when he's a kitten.
Jasper is soooo pretty. I love the pictures. He's got that "this is MY house" look on his face. So cute.

i know. i just tell myself that she has a good home and that she'll always love me.
the funny thing is that i crocheted a blanket for no one in particular. she ended up taking it for herself (as she was very intrigued by the ball of yarn rolling across the floor). unless that blanket has been washed it's likely that it still has my scent on it. she really LOVES that blanket....so i wonder....

Goddam, Mina, that's so sad and sweet at the same time. I sure hope she has your blanket still.

That was because you said that you would rather he ate during the day when you are home, and because I've known way too many castrated male cats who got to be GIGANTIC because they could eat all the time. Being obese will shorten your cat's life.
The dry food cleans his teeth better. That's why you don't want to feed too much wet food, because he will prefer that and not eat as much dry food. This can cause tarter to build up on his teeth, which will give him cat breath and the possibility of dental problems. Dental work for cats involves anesthesia, so it is best to avoid the dental problems if you possibly can.

I will distract your ex by squirting milk in his eye and then Britt can grab his nuts so that you have time to grab the kitty and run out the door. :D

Would you believe that when I divorced my first wife, in the divorce decree it awarded her one cat and me the other? The attorney said that both of us came in and said, "He/she's not getting MY cat!"
