But... but... what if sophiemarie is there?!?!
<skeeeeeeeeered>
But c'mon. Doesn't that kind of . . . add to the intrigue? A little? Or am I a bad person for thinking such a thing?

But... but.... I might have to open a can of whoopass on her... and then get arrested! I can't go to jail... I'm too delicate!!! :'(
Just follow your aforementioned plan! 1. Open can of whoopass. 2. Hand can to Mast at sound of sirens. 3. RUN.

Why bother opening up a can of whoopass on her if she's just going to throw it back up in an hour.....seems like a waste....

Damn, this thread has taken off. I'm lost now. LOL. Fill me in if i'm incorrect.
I don't want to go to a strip club myself, so count me out of that one.
I'm down for Central Park, brunch, & all that day time stuff even though i'm more of a night owl. :P We're meeting up on Saturday at the W hotel right?
And I have a few places in mind for evening/night events. We can always go to the Meat Packing district area for dinner at night/lounge for drinks. There's a lot of spots there. Like bars and restaurants.
If you want to party, we can go to the west side of town. Where the trendy lounges are. There's also this new place I want to go to, suppose to be hot on Thursday and Sunday nights. :)
There's also a great restaurant near China town, it's on W. Broadway. French restaurant, they open the wall part... and during the day there's this Brazilian band playing some groovy drums. I went on a Saturday, had lots of fun. Drinks and samba. 8)
P.S. I think we should have a huge mast email so we can discuss plans better that way, if none of you want to post it on here. ;)

*grin* Mast, you're in for an inbox flood. :P
None of you know me except Cally and (now) Mast, but... I shore wish I were going! Have fun kids!

Out of respect for Vyanka, I suggest any SCing happen at the wicked, wee hours of the night. If we go to the venerable Scores East, for example, I'll open my hotel bathtub to anyone who needs a place to crash until morning. :D

Yes please! Sunday night is open for me.

I'm only coming in for Saturday:
Saturday
Early daytime (12:00 pm & Up) - Dim Sum and shopping in Chinatown
Evening (6:00pm & Up) - Pre Dinner drinks at the W, then dinner somewhere downtown
Night (9/10:00pm & up) – Bar hopping/karaoke downtown (preferably the Village)
No late, late night for me as I have to catch the Path at like 1AM. Since we're doing Dim Sum early, I don't want to eat Asian that night. Also, Cally can't have seafood and doesn't eat Asian food.
So, we need an idea for dinner. For the barhopping, I'm all up for playing that by ear.

i'm not attending but may i suggest nobu for dinner and there's loads of bars around, although hopping around the village is more fun imo. every few feet in the village is an adventure. i loved living there and visiting it is much more ny experience imo than anywhere else in nyc (and i'm queens native!).
but nobu's just too delish to pass up though. there's some other seafood specialty places but if that's too constraining then nobu or one of the continental restaurants of the village are good other options.
but the walkabout the village is mandatory! :D
dim sum in the morning is an 'of course'! ;D have fun!

Like I said above, we can't do seafood OR Asian at night due to Cally's allergies. And Nobu, to me, was just kind of "meh".
So we need to pick something that has a wide variety of things on the menu.
I would really like to try a Tapas Bar myself. Just phoned a friend and she suggested Pipa or Lucy Latin Kitchen. They are both connected, back to back, with Pipa being on E. 19th and Lucy on E.18th.
Pipa is more relaxed and Lucy is more upscale. Anyone?

I'm willing to eat at either one, don't matter to me. I'm really curious to try this Dim Sum now too. lol.
I can eat pretty much every kind of food, so for me that's not a problem.
Do any of you like Brazilian? There's this one Brazilian place that has really good food, buffet, outside area, and some belly dancers. It's in the Village too, I believe.

Belly dancers. Nice. I'd enjoy that and the Brazilian cuisine. Count me in.
Okay, I'll go. But I'm broke and I may be having sex with Lady Jade the whole time.

Dylan, I heard good things about Pipa too.
The place I suggested is called "Carne Vale". I heard it has a good vibe in there. We can also go across the street for some hookah(if anyone likes to smoke that stuff). :P

That's doable!! I suggested Tapas because it really encourages the group sharing thing and you can try tons of different thing without having too much of any one thing.
But I can definitely go Brazilian! Especially if there's a buffet and bellydancers.
But, if we decide to do Pipa or Lucy, we'll have to get a head count for reservations, so we need to decide.

Perfect. So that Brazilian spot doesn't have to be the same day(saturday). We can do that Sunday, plus it's better to go there on a Sunday. So your Saturday plan sounds doable for all of us. ;D

Here's a link to the menu page for Pipa. Scroll down and hit the link for online Menu. I'd post it here, but it's extensive.
And I've heard their Sangria kicks butt too!
So we have two possibilities so far: Brazilian: Carne-vale or Tapas: Pipa

Oh definitely, but I'm not sure that anyone had any suggestions anyway, so:
1. CE picked where we have drinks,
2. I think Jade knows where to get the Dim Sum
3. and you and I have picked two places for dinner. Neither one of them is close to the W, so it's just a matter of preference, really.
4. I think it was Rose that had some cute ideas for after dinner capers.
Wow, when they all get on here, they'll see us a lot further than we were yesterday!!!

Rozz you n I can go be broke together and wander around the city looking at pretty things :P

I just skimmed through lol... but seriously you have no idea how limited I am on funds.
I am not trying to say 'hey lets do this up at McDonalds' lol... its awesome everyone is going out to have fun :P
If my boy comes(i'll know tonight) its all good... otherwise im sure by the end of Saturday night my spending limit will be maxed.
Plus I really really really wanna do NYC as a tourist and go look at pretty things. I've never been before.

On Sunday, by the by, I'll be in NJ for a BBQ in the afternoon. But I'm available Sunday night for more cackling fun with whomever is available. Yippie.
Separate question. Any skaters in the group? I was toying with the idea of bringing my inlines for skating on Monday morning in Central Park.

Is that 75$ for 3 meals or just for dinner and nightlife? Just so we have an idea for planning.
We can scrap the previous mentioned dinner plans in favor of pub food. I'd rather have less food and more of Cally anyway.
Isn't that what this is all about?

But really...we should all be mindful of others' limitations and work around them. I know that Jade is on a strict budget as well.
I'm a big fan of pub fare. Find a bar with a shamrock on it and you can't go wrong for food AND alcohol!!!

Well I just really don't see what's so expensive as far as it goes based on YOUR plan all you really have to pay for to have a good time is :
1. CE picked where we have drinks, - $0 to any love lady needing assistance thanks to CE's gracious offer.
2. I think Jade knows where to get the Dim Sum - like $7.00? 10.00?
shopping in china town can cost $0.00 DONOTBUYNOW.
3. and you and I have picked two places for dinner. Neither one of them is close to the W, so it's just a matter of preference, really.
Again - Walking and Site Seeing to dinner local == free
Taxi Death Ride == $50.00 shared SEATING(I'll cover some)
Dinner == Still need to find out, but I DOUBT we'll go overboard
4. I think it was Rose that had some cute ideas for after dinner capers.
All reasonable and fun. KARAOKE = Door Charge and 1 drink
Strip Club = Tip money for stage, bar drinks and whatnot. Still not much. And I'll be willing to help out here as well Since I'm happy to share.
Seeing mast on a pole == priceless
for everything else, there's massa card.

For anyone interested, I'm thinking going to the museums on Sunday as they should be less crowded. Only thing is, they close early, so it would have to be a fairly early day (not like sunrise early, but probably getting started around noon). The only museum I'd want to go to that charges a steep admission is the Museum of Natural History, but that is such a kickass place...the Frick is a nice little museum. i like that place just to walk/think that it was actually a private residence once. uber-money. :O (dream-house *sigh* )
the Met's technically free (donation suggested).
but if you do the Natural History christine's around the corner is a trendy place.
dim sum, dim sum. d'oh. now i gotta go this weekend to eat dim sum. you people are killing me. :P
