^^^ Is that the package insert / info that comes with the implants? Often people dont read them, if they even know they exist but Im curious.
The package inserts that come with some vaccines lists death as a possible consequence for instance...

Well CC isn't all due to body rejection,it can be from how your body heals, and if the body wants the implant out it will reject it, coated in titanium or not, but I don't want to rain on your parade. I'll def keep an eye on this study. I'm getting 600 cc HP so I'll see what mine come out to be.
My partner just pointed out to me... SIX HUNDRED?! Holy shiiiiit!

This is my release form... I got another form for 'normal' implants and another for 'surgery'... I had a DVD for implant information in general... they all state bad/good things.

Yeah, I'm 5'11 though, so me and my doc agree I can carry off bigger.

Congrats on your tits of steel! I wish I had that option, I'd be all over it. I have 2titanium rods in my back. Never had a problem with them, and they are there for life....so I bet your tits will be good for life!

Ok, unfortunatly Im having problems finding the articles and links. Ive posted the question for help in two forums where I remember seeing stuff before - one is a closed parenting group so I cant send you there. At least one other person remembers reading about the titanium studies before though so something might turn up maybe... The other group is here in the medical resorses section. and Im not longer a paying member of the site so I cant search back past 3 months, and it was definatly over a year ago - 2 or 3 most likely that I was reading about this.
You will find stuff on the web if youre prepared to keep searching anyway (-:
If its worth a mention, implants already have high levels of platinum and many people feel that that causes alot of problems for women who've had a BA. I can only suggest to keep researching as much as you can about the effect of heavy metals in the body.
Implant ingredients.
From (Cohesive gel implants have the same ingredients but with more "crosslinker" added according to this site )
1. Methyl Ethyl Ketone 19. Metal Cleaning Acid
2. Cyclobexanone 20. Formaldehyde
3. Isopropyl Alcohol 21. Talcum powder
4. Denatured Alcohol 22. Color Pigments
5. Acetone 23. Oakite (cleaning solvent)
6. Urethane 24. Cyanoacyrylates
7. Polyvinyl chloride 25. Ethylene Oxide
8. Lacquer Thinner 26. Carbob Black
9. Ethyl Acetate 27. Xylene
10. Epoxy Resin 28. Hexone
11. Epoxy Hardener 29. Hexanone 2
12. Amine 30. Thixon-OSN-2
13 Printing Ink 31. Rubber
14. Toluene 32. Acid Stearic
15. Freon 33. Zinc Oxide
16. Silicone 34. Naptha (Rubber Solvent)
17. Flux 35. Phenol
18. Solder 36. Methylene Chloride
37. Benzene
Heavy metals such as aluminum and platinum were also used as catalysts in turning the liquid silicone to gel. The devastating effects of metals on the human brain and body are well known.

I wouldn't be the least bit afraid of participating in an experimental study. I did the same thing getting my PolyString implants. Basically, the implant company will reimburse the surgeon to do whatever is necessary to 'do no harm' to the experimental patients. In the worst case this means an (almost) FREE return to standard implants if for any reason the titanium coated ones develop problems or risk factors are identified. My PolyString implants turned out to have a side effect (they grew 30% in cc volume the first year kept growing by about 10% a year in total cc volume !) but so far that side effect has turned out to be more of a plus than a minus. Of course, some other girls in the study who were schoolteachers and librarians and nurses got a little upset about their original D cups growing to DD cups in 3 months and F cups after a year (some got free replacement with conventional implants, a few others quit their straight job and started dancing LOL) !
PolyImplantProstheses of France is probably THE leading company in implant technology. I used to have a pair of custom made 2500cc PIP implants ... they looked great and they were built 'heavy-duty' (I saw them in the sterile bags before they were 'installed'). Unfortunately, due to recent US FDA regulations, PIP implants can no longer be used in the USA.
From what I can deduce, the titanium is actually in the form of a coating a few molecules thick which is applied to the silicone rubber bag's outer surface. In theory, this should stop the migration of ANY substance into or out of the implant bags. These should truly be 'forever' implants !
However, given the 'forever' factor, I would really encourage you to consider going a bit larger than 390cc ... for the additional diameter and improved cleavage if nothing else. I'd seriously talk to your surgeon about this because almost all girls who get implants quickly decide that they should have chosen bigger implants !

^^^ I didnt realise the polystring implant expansion was a side effect, I thought that was known beforehand. Is that one of the reasons they were withdrawn?

I have decided to get the implants. I really believe in this study and it means something to me to see through.
March 17th is the day.

Yes, you're correct on the molecular thickness.
I'd also like to point out that I am already going bigger than I thought I wanted anyway. Every single time someone gets implants you mention how they should get bigger and bigger than they said they wanted... not everyone wants to be huge! I'm already going to be a DD on my frame from my previous breasts. I don't want additional diameter OR cleavage. I'm already going about 100ccs more than I originally intended because of THIS advice you've given everyone else.
Also, my doctor won't go any bigger. He says with everything I do and my body shape, this would be the best for me and he already needs to double stitch to make sure I don't bottom out. He's weary going this big on me.

Thanks girls. Ever since the day has been told to me I've been in a panick. I threw up 6 times that day alone.. and cried.. happily, of course.. but man, my nerves.

well, that certainly settles the issue ! The only reason that I always give the size advice to dancers contemplating getting implants is that I have probably met 1000 girls with implants in dressing rooms - with 500 wishing they had gone bigger and another 300 having already ponied up for a second redo surgery to actually go bigger. But you are totally correct that not every girl wants or can physically handle big implants.

No the expanding implant syndrome was not known when polystring implants were first introduced. Then during the first year after polystring implants went into 'service' it was still thought that the initial rapid growth during the first 3-6 months after surgery would stop after a year or two. However, it turned out that all polystring implant girls continued to gain an extra cup size or more per year.

Do they know yet if this is a forever thing or will they someday actually stop?
I was under the impression it's 'til the day you die.

^^^ I actually have to go back to the doctor to have serous fluid drawn out of my breasts on a regular basis or they WILL keep on growing. Considering that I'm up to a 51" bustline and an M cup, I couldn't handle them growing any bigger or heavier !!
