I totally feel bad for putting Lady Jade through hours of difficult cookie baking issues. :(
But on a brighter note, I danced for a guy who looks EXACTLY like Wayne Brady tonight. He was very sweet, and a Gemini. ;D
That and some asshole Jess went to school with keeps calling and harassing us. Time to lay the smack down.>:(

I hate doing laundry!
Me too. I pay people to do it for me, and tip them lavishly. But I'm even lazy about that--I waited until I had nothing left to wear, finally took a gigantic bundle in there wednesday when they were closing, and still haven't picked it up yet.
So I think I might have displayed less than perfect sartorial skill at work thursday. I was off last night, which was good for everyone I'm sure. I am going to set my alarm to make sure I get it before they close tonight!

You fiend! You should be punished by being deprived of cookies for an entire week.
Who the hell is Wayne Brady? My dad and my last ex were Geminis, they can be very charming--even if I don't always buy into the zodiac stuff.

Am I part Gemini if my birthday is on the cutoff day between Taurus and Gemini?

Why not?
It's not exactly a scientific phenomenon anyway, even if it sometimes does work out the way the better astrologers say it will. I'd say if you'd rather be a Gemini, you should be. But Taurus can be cool as well. Be both!

Whoa, that's a lot. I did my front rotors and pads (I have an Accord, btw), and they were about $375. Since I did it at Midas, I get free brakepads for life, though. Those are $156/pair... that's a pretty nice savings.
I had an oil change ($30), cabin filter ($72), air filter ($44), and the brakes ($375), but at least I won't need anything other than oil changes for at least another year, probably longer since I don't drive too many miles anymore.

Believe it or not, I can answer this, thanks to years of working as a barista in various coffeeshops, including, but not limited to, the Evil Empire.
Once upon a time, a goatherd (in Ethiopia*, I believe, though I'll verify in a sec) noticed that his goats always became very energetic after eating the berries off of a certain kind of bush. Ever seen coffee beans growing? They don't look like hard beans - they look more like cherries. The outer fruit-like husk is removed and then the bean inside is roasted. Said goatherd then experimented with different ways of consuming these berries, and the rest is history.
As for the question, of how our Lonely Goatherd figured out to 1. remove fruity outside, 2. roast beany inside, 3. grind roasted bean, and 3. boil and strain beans and drink resulting liquid, your speculation is as good as mine. It probably rates up there with how the hell someone figured out how to eat an artichoke.
*ETA: Yup, Ethiopia. (http://www.nationalgeographic.com/coffee/legend1.html)

I am not a Toyota fan at all. The engines are too small for where I live (in the middle of the mountains), so you can't get any acceleration going uphill. I've had 2 Hondas, both of which have been amazing. My old one was 15 when I sold it, my grandfather drove it for years before I bought it, and the only things that ever went wrong with it were age-related like the power window motor dying and the radiator rusting out. I hardly had to put any money into it other than regular maintenance.
My new one is an '04, and I love it. I've put 60k miles on it in the 3 years I've owned it, and the only things I've invested money into are my brakes and tires since I sort of don't want to die driving in the winter here!

So we started drinkin and just catching up since we hadn't seen eachother in years. Next thing I know hes shit faced and coming on to me when I went to bed... well I was about to get pissed off until he keeled over the side of the bed and hurled his guts out all over the floor :rotfl: He then in a drunken ramble went on about how much he misses me and loves me and wishes he could have me but he knows im too good for him and he regrets seeing me last night but he doesn't because hes happy he saw me but hes upset because he wants me and knows he can't have me and blah blah blah... then hurles his guts all over the floor again :rotfl: needless to say if I hadn't been in butt fuck nowhere I woulda been callin a cab but I was stuck there so I just locked myself in another room with my stage blanket and made him drive me to my parents first thing this morning lol.

I also have a week's worth of homework to catch up on.

Ick, Civics are nowhere near as good as Accords. They don't retain nearly as much of their value (my '91 with a shit-ton of body damage) was still worth like 5k back in '04. If it was in better condition, I could haven't gotten even more for it.

Suppose I was going to upgrade my Honda for a spanking new Honda (manual transmission, naturally). Think sporty but not "mid life crisis" sporty. Plus, I only have street parking.
What would you suggest?

If you are still coughing up crap..dont go. The smoke and various inhalents(deoderant, body spray, etc...) will clog you up even worse. Not to mention what the physical exertion will do.
Dont make it worse..stay home and do your homework. Go in Mon or Tues when you feel better.

you're going to think this is such a silly reason. but i dont like accords (for me) because theyre longer cars. like, length wise. hahahah. i like shorter cars because im bad at parking, and my reason at the time was parallel parking. both my parents wanted me to take my dads crv originally, and then when i said no, they went for the accord or civic.

My mom adores her CRV for the same reasons you love your Element!
I really :heartbeat Honda. I still get 25+ mpg even though I only drive my car 4 miles at a time at 25 mph. Amazing! I'm well over 30 mpg highway!

That's actually the reason I didn't take my mom's old Ford when I learned to drive! It was at least 6" longer than grandpa's Accord so easier to park. Honestly, though, once I parallel parked it a few times, it's a breeze. I can parallel park on either side of the street now using only my side mirrors.

Actually in Ethiopia, they originally made a tea from the leaves. They didn't start cultivating coffee for the beans until much later, and coffee cultivation as a crop began in Yemen. For a long time all coffee came from Yemen because the government prohibited the exportation of unsterilized beans (pretty clever!)... and then some Dutch guys managed to smuggle out some sterile beans, which they planted in Ceylon and then Java. And now look at Yemen, poor guys.
I hear coffee cherries are delicious. My mom's friend grew up in Columbia and her family grew coffee, and she says the flavor is like nothing she can describe but it's the most succulent fruit in the world.
