Seriously, the dog's upset because he feels your negative energy and emotions...If you can't get past that please find him a home where he will be happier. Plenty of families are dying for puppies. Put a posting out on Craig's List.

We're trying to feed him puppy food only. Not even a bite of other food because he gets the worst shits from anything else. Somehow something else this week messed up his system. He gets the runs at least once a week though. Maybe he's just churning up batches of it to be a bastard. He likes to see his mom cry. That's it.

Awww...

I would seriously look into the idea it's stress, in addition to maybe a sensitive system. The human digestive system is also acutely sensitive to stress, and it can go either way when the brain gets weirded out--constipation or the runs.

Also if he is kept in a cage overnight (no doubt to keep him from shitting all over the entire house, lol), it might help him if he could go somewhere at least once a day and just run around like crazy for at least an hour, that will calm him down.

I had a really hyper and needy lab puppy I was nursing back to health for a while for a friend who ran an animal shelter, the poor dog had heartworm (or whatever worm it is that can kill the dog), it was iffy, but we made it through.

But before that when he was still healthier and driving us nuts being a puppy, I used to run with him until we were both exhausted, and that seemed to calm him down somewhat otherwise.

Now you have me worrying about your dog, lol...

OK as tough as it was to finally fall asleep, I had some crazy and kickass dreams last night. I can only remember snippettes...

Barack Obama sitting with me at some lake at night as we held some sort of vigil. I think it was in remembrance of something or someone.

Another Stella dream! This time, Stella lived in Australia so I flew to see her. Then she was at school all day and I was bored. Then I heard she went out to eat with someone because she hadn't eaten all day and I was like, silly girl, go eat something! And that was it.

And then I had a going back to school dream but that one never really coalesced beyond "OMG I'm going back to school next semester and my teacher is this goofy cholo I used to work with!"

Hee! The Hubby came home! (His one class today was cancelled.) Yippeee!!!

OMG! My hubby just called to let me know they are doing gang initiations nearby and just pulling up beside people at stop lights and shooting them. I was gonna take my 4yr old for a haircut today, but that scared the crap outta me.

This lady he works with told him, but I can't find anything about it on the web. I kinda wonder if it is really happening. Seems so outrageous.

The puppy won't sit still enough to pet him. He's seriously that bad. He wags his tail even when he gets punished. It's like he doesn't get it. He's just absolutely incorrigible.

Dogs don't wag their tail because they're happy. They wag their tail when they're excited. He's probably nervous. And he can't sit still when you pet him because you don't give him enough exercise.

I feel bad for him that you don't give him the exercise he needs and expect him to be perfectly trained when he's only a puppy. You should find a home that has the time and patience for him.

i slept for 13 hours last night. Feels damn good.
I love when my husband wakes me up to give me sweet loving in the morning. I don't even mean sex (sex??? whats that??), just lots of cuddles and kisses and telling me i'm the most beautiful awesome wife in the world and how lucky he is. I especially like when he puts all of me on top of him and says he has his whole family in his arms and what a lucky guy he is. Such a keeper he is.
Dinner last night was nothing short of AMAZING. I am horrified at how much it cost but his parents would never do that for themselves and they deserve it. It was like twice the amount of my old rent. :-0. i TOLD HIM WE ARE EATING HOTDOGS AND MAC AND CHEESE FOR THE REST OF THE MONTH. Oops sorry about the caps, i just don't feel like going back to fix it.
I have a dr apt today, finally get to see if i'm progressing at all. I feel bad for hoping the baby comes early, i keep telling her i'm not evicting her and she should take as long as she needs in my body but damn i can't wait to get her out! I also have my breastfeeding class tonight. Off to find us some brunch.
Have a wonderful day ladies!

^ umm thats scary as all hell jas.

Paintgoddess your puppy problems had me crying I was laughing so hard. I just got a puppy too (chow) and while she has never shit she gets really scared easily and pees out of fright. It's frustrating because then my boyfriend yells at me...she's just a damn baby.

I had a dog when I was in high school (half wiemer half chow) and she was a fucking nightmare. I completely ignored her and wanted to kill her so many times and I told her I hated her all the time, but once she got over the puppy stage she's a doll. She loves me the most ironically too.

With my dog now I pick up the food and water by 9pm and she goes to bed a few hours later (after a shit/piss or two) and I give her water and food immediately when I get up after I take her out. when we have the runs, it's pretty damn near impossible to hold as adults, a baby puppy can't do it. You may have to wake up a few times a night to let her out, but thats better than having shit to clean up and bag habits. Good luck!

In other news, I'm stressed out. I am only enrolled in 10 credits and I need 12 to keep my health insurance. Registration ended on Thursday...so I think I'm just fucked. I need to go talk to someone about that today.

I haven't gone to work in a couple weeks either. Makes me feel like a deadbeat. I want to work wends-sat but after not getting very much advice on a thread I made about stamina...I don't really know how to do it.

I'm just so stressed out that all I want to do is sleep and eat. I also can't afford my anti-depressants or anxiety meds so it's making the problems worse. I feel really fat and ugly so going into work like this is practically impossible, but maybe I'll go in anyways...tomorrow. le sigh

Phillyvixen, I always love reading your posts--I never really live the "fabulous life" but I get vicarious joy out of reading about it. I'd love to hear more about that restaurant! What was on the tasting menu?

Jas, YIKES. I'm so terrified of things like that happening. I wouldn't let the Hubby walk our dog after dark around our neighborhood after someone here said their husband was randomly beaten up, probably because of gang initiation.

Just to let you and the world know, I reverse psychology'd myself (or something) or else really had a mean attitude towards myself, by feeling like that yet going in in the teensiest bikini I own. It was totally awesome and I realized I'm sexy and made $$ and the usual complements.

I just figured if I wore something concealing like a minidress I'd still believe I was fat n ugly.

I highly recommend!;D

I NEVER lived the fabulous life before either, this is all very new and exciting for me too. I feel like i have struggled my whole life and now all of the sudden i'm not and it still has my head spinning a little. I honestly just keep waiting to wake up or something horrible to happen because that is what i'm used to. One drama after another. I realized recently that my whole life i have been surviving and now all of the sudden i get to live. Nothings perfect but this life is pretty damn good :)

On to the menu-
The theme of the tasting menu was truffle and cactus. Very odd combo but everything was wonderful. Lets see what i can remember, first you get a a tiny taste to tantalize your pallet, i can't begin to figure out how to spell it but that was a tiny shrimp and apple salad with a vinaigrette. Then we had beet and truffle soup with cranberry consume. Then was red lentel stew with carmalized pearl onions. Then seared tuna on top of cactus with a sour raspberry reduction. i'm forgetting some, the main course was the most amazing duck with white cabbage and cactus stuff then you get a choice of funky cheese or salad. We of course picked the cheese, all kinds of weird ones. Then cantaloupe and black cherry sorbet and caramel and French vanilla ice cream. Then they bring out this dessert cart, with like 15 different choices and you can have AS MANY as you want!! I was so stuffed by this time. But of course i still had to try some, :) I had the grand marnier souflee with raspberry sauce, some praline chocolate hazelnut cake, lemon tart, and pinapples cooked with ginger. Mind you, you only get a small portion of everything. But every bite is like an orgasm in your mouth.
The whole dinner was was absolutely amazing. My husband and i say you know its great food when you have to make a noise with every bite. We also got 2 bottles of french red wine and yes i had a small glass of each }:D
So now that i go back and count i forgot 2 courses, i'll see if the husband remembers tonight.

^ I think she said it was Le Bec Fin, a very nice and very swanky place in Philly.

I'm having kofta curry, some basmati rice with raisins and cashews, a big honkin' piece of naan, and some spiced chai. Yum. I have to leave in a few to go re-record one of the radio commercials downtown for our grand re-opening. They gave me the wrong one to read last time. Whee.

Haha, I love sushi too. You just have to find someplace that makes it healthier! Like, my fav roll is a spicy tuna roll, and most places put spicy mayo on it, but my fav place just uses hot sauce on the tuna. It's way healthier and waaaay yummier.

Dammit, now I want sushi.

oh,and pg- there is nothing wrong with finding him a better home if he's to difficult for you. It's not selfish, b/c it'd help the puppy too.

I personally think you would do better not having the puppy till (if) your bf can grow up and share the big responsibility of a dog.

^^^That's part of the problem. When I go to work, he only lets the dog out of his cage to pee. When I come home I can tell that the dog has so much pent up energy. He just levitates!! BF also never eve takes them out. It's killing me. I'm working 8 hour shifts four days a week, and when I wake up the next day I can barely move, let alone get up in the middle of the night to take him out. BF promised me....i made him promise me before we even started the paperwork at the pound that he'd wake up 10 min early every day before work to take the dogs out because I told him I wouldn't be physically able to do it. He's now taken them out twice. Twice. It's been two months or more. I spend my life in a state of frustration and exhaustion.

Anyway.... thanks to all for your suggestions. I get so blinded with rage sometimes that I forget that the puppy needs to see more of the other side of me or he'll never have sanity in his life. So seriously... thank you all.... esp Djoser.

Roasted scallop, snow peas julienne, rhubarb sauce

Cactus pear cappuccino - How could i forget, this is like drinking butter. Its a savory cappuccino with foamed milk, so weird, i could only take a sip or two.

OK I want to post all the nummy treats that I'm gonna prepare over the next couple of weeks.

Tonight: turkey lasagna with goat cheese.
Tomorrow: parmesan crusted tilapia
Sometime later: dunno what all I'm gonna do with 'em but I have pork chops, scallops, chicken thighs, and tons of stuff for tostadas and sandwiches. I can probably space this all out for two weeks with all the leftovers. Nom nom nom! I feel at my best when I'm excited about food! (As you can tell by the previous post.)

Speaking of which: lasagna's ready! Gonna steam some asparagus to go with it and a big glass of milk cuz I'm a growing girl. ;D
