Why are my animals on bitch mode? My cats are visibly not speaking to each other...turning their back on each other, walking all the way around the room to avoid each other...My birds are arguing..have been yelling at each other all day. WTF? What the hell are they all fighting about?

I've decided to make my livingroom Phantom of the Opera themed. Don't know why I didn't do it before, I sure as hell had enough stuff.

I just recently bought an old rustic looking wooden TV stand with rusted brass handles and keys and things.... so I'm going to buy a black couch an put white pillows on it.. then I'm going to get large candelabras for the walls and make sure candle wax drips off of them... and everything else I get will either directly relate to the logo or the time period.

Because I totally needed an excuse/reason to buy 1600's furniture. Awesome.

It's been a week and my sleeping pattern still SUCKS!!!

The night before last I stayed up watching MSNBC's Lockup and last night stayed up watching A&E's Intervention.

WHY am I doing this to myself???? SOO DEPRESSING :weeping: !!!

Tonight I'm going to freeze my ass off in Park City shopping to cheer myself up.

I hope it works and I get some good:sleep:

Oh my goodness, I should TOTALLY have a soft background of 'music of the night' playing at night to lull guests to sleep! Just very softly. How nice would it be to hear that, piano version or something, just gently in the background...and you can't quite tell where it's coming from? That would be AWESOME.

Plus I have a replica monkey music box that plays Masquerade. I can just imagine if I had guests over, they'd hear the Music of the Night and some time at 3am I'd suddenly hear my monkey go off because someone got caught up in the moment at my house... I'd feel so proud.... <3

I put this in my journal, but I think it describes my feelings from last night:

The Phantom looked at me. Like, directly at me. I could tell he was looking at me. An audience of who knows how many and he looked at me for a good five seconds. I think I'll remember that for the rest of my life.

For those who don't know, I have a unnatural obsession with Phantom of the Opera. I have a display case dedicated to my collections from it, in fact. I have different copies of the movie because of small changes in cover/dvds/extras. I have the book. I've gone out of my way to meet Gerard Butler (who did nothing for me, as he was not dressed as the Phantom, go figure).

I am completely aware that in the big scheme of musicals, Phantom is considered crappy, lame and overall overrated, but I don't care. Since I was about 6 it has meant something to me. There has always been this deep childhood connection, I think, I've had with the Phantom. We all kinda cheer him on secretly, don't we? We want the night to take over, we want to be seduced by the darkness and let it comfortingly envelope us.

This Phantom shook and wavered. He actually looked insane. None of this 'only for love' romanticism of various version. This actor played the part brilliantly. The Phantom was insane and you could feel the torture on his heart in his voice. The expressions were dramatic, the depth of character was fascinating and the trembling insanity was exceptional - and I would know.

And for five seconds of my life, he was looking directly at me.

Lysondra
02-19-2008, 04:28 PM
I think the most wrenching part in the entire play is at the very end when the monkey goes off and he says softly 'Masquerade... paper faces on parade...masquerade... hide your face so the world will never find you....' Just him staring at that music box and whispering those words... oh god... my heart, it wrenches.

*dreamy sigh*

Nighttime sharpens, heightens each sensation
Darkness stirs and wakes imagination
Silently the senses abandon their defenses

Slowly, gently, night unfurls its splendor
Grasp it, sense it, tremulous and tender
Turn your face away, from the garish light of day
Turn your thoughts away from cold, unfeeling light
And listen to the music of the night

eyhiternklmflkmlkdsnnWHAT?!

Even if my child were like, 8, I'd send them with a backpack and a note pinned to their chest and make sure they had a freaking nanny waiting on the other side. My child would NEVER miss it had they the opportunity of a fucking lifetime.

I'm waiting for it to play in Sydney. The Sydney Opera house is renound for dropping the chandeleir the fastest is any country.

My chandelier wouldn't drop... but I'd bet I'd have a few less people crashing on my couch if they saw it.

So.. ah... now that I have Safari should I bother with installing Firefox? Does Safari do tab-ed browsing? If so how to do "right click" in a Macbook (not MacBook pro.. just a MacBook) to open a new tab?
