It's a private forum area and if I linked it they'd KNOW I 'brought in the cavalry' and I'd look like a bigger douche.
What to do then? Maybe don't go there...ignore? Pricks. My feelings would be hurt if I knew someone was running me down on a message board. /:O

^^^ (-:
I am slightly pissed off that one of the bands I played for is reforming for a friends birthday and they havent asked me to play. I was the last bass player they had and I wouldnt mind so much if they asked the original one. Instead they have asked someone who hardly even knew the friend and has never played in the band.
Oh well it gives me more drinking time with the friends anyway...

eta: How many pills can I take before I accidentally overdose? Trazodone and Klonopin are the ones I'm workin' with here. Don't wanna die. Well, I do, but I won't. Just want to sleep for the next 24 hours or so.
Please feel better Stella. I wrote this for you after I read this:
Do not judge me by the face I show on the outside,
but look deep within my soul.
For it is there you will see who I truly am.
Our bodies are but an illusion
meant to protect our heart from pain.
But it cannot shelter us from the pain inflicted by words.
Take care before you speak that
which will cause a heart to ache.
And if you love someone,
surround that heart gently with tenderness.
A loving heart is given completely,
in trust and faith
that it will be cherished for all time.

For you stella
What happens if I overdose?
• Seek emergency medical attention if an overdose is suspected.
• Symptoms of a Klonopin (clonazepam) overdose may include drowsiness, dizziness, confusion, a slow heart beat, difficulty breathing, difficulty walking and talking, an appearance of being drunk, and unconsciousness.
http://www.drugs.com/klonopin.html
Please stop taking more than you need to. The last few symptoms there: slow heart beat, difficulty breathing, walking and talking you might not even notice till its too late. :'( You may simply feel sleepy and not wake up. If you're unconscious ..you won't be able to wake up to help yourself in case of an emergency. Will you check in to say you're ok? Please.

I think it's great that you've really thrown yourself into the whole Jewish thing. As a Jew myself (not religious though), it's really refreshing to see someone who's so into it. So have you learned any Yiddish yet? Every good Jew needs to at least know a few phrases. :)

Don't worry too much about it. You're a better than Jew than me and I've had over 30 years to practice, lol. Here's a yiddish glossary you can poke around in to find some nice phrases to use. Everything is spelled phonetically so it should be easy to learn a few if you want to. :)

Lysandora. I am not Jewish. I have never been jewish. But the school I went to growing up was Jewish and I am considered the most Jewish goy by most Jews. My ex-boyfriend was married to a Jewish woman (who he has a kid by), and he went to shabbat and everything though he never converted. Together we were the most Jewish non-Jews on the planet. I speak Yiddish with a mean streak. Many english words are yiddish and you probably know them all ready. These are easy:
schlong- penis
shmuck- contemptible idiot
shemozzle- fight
tush- ass
mazel- luck
famisht- confused (my usual state of being)
spiel- long sales pitch. often what we do to customers
Those are just a few I can think of right now. It's a very onomatopoetic language. Things just kind of make sense sounding a certain way.

I want to find a good recipe for Mango Flan. That sounds utterly delicious right now, and I used to make the yummiest plain Flan. I want to make some for my Grandma's welcoming on Tuesday.
Mango Flan
The Caramel:
Scant 1/4 cup water
3/4 cup sugar
1/2 teaspoon lemon juice (optional)
The Flan (custard)
5 eggs, room temperature
1 can evaporated milk (12 oz.)
1 can sweet condensed milk (14 oz.)
1 cup mango pulp (3 or 4 mangos, depending on size)
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Deep baking dish, 1 1/2 to 2 quart capacity
Method: The Caramel:
Place the water, sugar and lemon juice in a small heavy saucepan. Put on medium-low heat and boil until the color becomes a clear golden brown. During this process, occasionally swirl the saucepan over the heat. When it has reached the desired color, immediately pour this caramel into the baking dish that you'll be making the flan in. This prevents further cooking of the caramel plus the bitter taste of overcooked caramel. Completely cover the bottom and a bit of the sides of this baking dish. Set aside.
Method: The Flan (custard)
Preheat oven to 350°F.
Peel and cut the mangos into pieces. Use a blender to purée the pieces. Put this purée through a sieve to separate and remove the fibers. Set the mango purée aside for now.
In a large mixing bowl, stir the eggs together with a whisk until blended. Add the evaporated milk and the sweetened condensed milk. Stir again with the whisk until blended. Pass this milk mixture through a sieve into another large mixing bowl. Add the mango purée and the vanilla extract. Blend completely, meaning there are no streaky colors.
Pour this flan mixture into the baking dish. Place the baking dish into a larger baking pan. Carefully add super hot water (from the faucet) to that pan, until the water reaches about half-way up the sides of the flan baking dish.
Place the pan into the oven, and set your timer for 1 hour. After 1 hour, check for doneness by inserting a dinner knife or a toothpick into the center of the flan. If it doesn't come out clean, give it about 10 or 15 minutes more, checking every 5 minutes.
When done, remove the flan baking dish to cool on a wire rack. When the flan has cooled down to room temperature, place in the refrigerator.
This dessert tastes best when refrigerator-chilled. When you're ready to serve it, first run a dinner knife all around the sides, to loosen it. Then place a large platter over it, take a deep breath, and turn the whole thing around. Remove the baking dish. In fact, if you have some leftover mango, you could use it sliced, as a topping for the individual flan servings.
Enjoy :)
