I've dealt with a lot of liars in my time and this sounds like one.
Occam's razor. The answer with the least number of assumptions is the most likely. In other words, it's more likely she's a liar than a kidnapped baby.
I would try to create a situation where she's forced to show her ID, like stage an event where the "cops" (your friend in a fake uniform) knocks on your door, says he's looking for a girl by a certain description and checks your IDs. If she doesn't have one he should threaten to arrest her. I'm sure she has one and she's bullshitting you. Or get her super wasted til she passes out and then search her. She probably carries it on her.
It's illegal to pretend to be a police officer.

Hi there.
I am sorry that I offended everyone by suggesting a troll, it seemed like a likely solution to what appeared to be a thread and then a total disappearance.
I have been a member far longer (a couple of years) and posted many more times than 22, my last identity (Bambi, rqe) was somehow deleted or something; I emailed Pryce a few times but finally gave up and just started a new one.
Again, I apologize that I didn't check the number of posts she had already made, I was simply making a suggestion that would explain why she disappeared from SW after posting something so odd that we all wanted an update on.

Well that was anti-climactic. :P Sorry.
That really sucks about your dad. I hope things turn out better for you soon. I have a friend with MS so I know how scary it can be.
Keep your head up and don't worry about that girl for now. Seems like you got a lot on your plate.

Anti-climactic indeed, lol. Thanks for the understanding words, Alexxa:-*
Still, like I said, I know eventually I will bore of being a hermit here and will want an escape from problems back home, and most likely I'll be giving her a call. She always seems to be available since she doesn't work or anything. It'll un-ravel slowly one way or another, I am sure..

Update:
Since so many people were concerned (myself included) about the well-being of my friend, I wanted to provide an update.
As I thought, it was just a matter of time before finding out the truth. I felt it was time, so I initiated a heart to heart this past weekend with my friend. In a tearful confession, she said that she had told a lie; she is not 22, she is only 19. She proceeded to confess that everything else she told me (her family problems, her dad being a controlling psychotic nut-case, the home-schooling, etc) are all true. She kept apologizing, saying that she wanted to tell me for so long, she was just scared I'd be angry because she lied. Also because telling me the truth is risky, as the majority of her acquaintances here are all under the impression that she is 22. She has weaved herself an incredibly tangled web and she is suffering the repercussions slowly but surely.
I have not yet really solidified my own feelings about this issue, so I guess I can't really go there.
Anyway, really nothing juicy or mysterious about this, so sorry to dissappoint! ;D I just wanted to hold true to my promise of giving you guys the heads up if I were to find out any new news.

Wow, I jsut caught up on of this, how very strange indeed!
I read a book a long time ago that I swear could be this girls story, word for word, strange dad who's a doctor, controls the little girl's life, no one knows she exists, etc. Very odd.
Bummer she lied to you about her age, but I guess a girl who lived a life as strange as hers would want to create another more favorable life in place of it. Poor girl.
I'd still be curious as to why her "family?" raised her like this.

You know what? You should Google "How to tell if someone is lying" and see if your friend exhibits any of the traits listed.

As long as she isn't trying to get into bars and drink there, nothing is wrong with her being 19. You sound like a very sweet person. I feel bad for this young lady though, and couldn't imagine living such a life.

If she's 19 she is old enough to help herself.
Any choice to live in this tangled web of lies is hers.
And, "it was all the truth except my age" doesn't sound all that credible to me. Being over 21 was the only believable part.

The situation just sucks altogether. She says her Dad has kept her from really having much of a life at all..she's 19 and doesn't drive. In so many ways it is clear that she's been extremely sheltered. Her entire social circle consists of a bunch of theatre people (who all believe she is 22).
Inititally I thought if I found out she was lying, I'd terminate the friendship. I don't know though, she made a mistake, but somehow I don't think I am going to bail on her. She just might need somebody to understand what she might be going through and/or has been through.

You sound very understanding and sweet. Good for you!
Oh, but don't let your guard down too much around this girl. Be careful not to let your kind and trusting nature be taken advantage of.

You sound alot nicer than I would have been. PLEASE don't forget that she did lie to you...and keep your guard up. But maybe you're right- she might just need a sweet understanding person like you in her life!
Be careful with this girl...sounds like trouble to me...and I try to always stay away from trouble.

If you know that she lied to you about one thing, then you must consider that anything and everything she has told you could also be a lie.
