Smoking isn't being banned. For people who want to jeopardize their health or who aren't mentally ready to quit, cigarettes are still being sold. Being around secondhand smoke is dangerous and irritating to the health of others. It makes non smokers sick and triggers health problems.

If someone chooses to continue to smoke despite the health hazards, and risk of a premature death, they are just requested to go outside, just like they do at any job. Just like a strip club or adult venue. They don't need to be closed down. Just in a separate building from non adult activities, so people who don't like that type of entertainment won't have to see it.

It's just a matter of courtesy really, but to get mass amounts of people who aren't considerate of others to comply, it has to be made into law.WELL SAID. Viva la smoking ban!!!

Smoking ban comes in England on July 1st. As a lifelong non smoker I am happy in one way but wonder if it will change the character of English pubs which I love. When I started work people still smoked in business meetings, on trains, aeroplanes, in the office, etc etc. Now all that has long gone and the only place where I regularly face smoke is in bars where quite a few of my mates still smoke , I hope they all don't just stop coming out.

^They won't stop going out, they like drinking too much LOL!! They'll just go outside for a few minutes to smoke. What's happened in many US areas is lots of bars build patios with tables and chairs or remodel so they have essentially an open-air place that's still sort of closed. This way smokers can still feel they're part of the atmosphere while following the law. I realize it'll be much harder to do that in England for a few reasons though, so I'm betting you'll simply see alot of smokers popping outside for a few minutes.

Does Oregon have a ban in the works? That would thrill the heck out of me if it did! No more itchy smokey contacts and hair that smells of smoke even AFTER i've washed it! Yay!

My fingers are crossed on this... hopes are up!

I think that is fantastic. I cannot WAIT for Oregon to pass a ban.

Ok, this is something that bothers me about the smoking thing - at Skin the girls just pull on a dress and go outside to smoke right in front of the building in their clear heels, leg warmers, and fishnets. I know it's a pain in the ass to take off all your gear, but come on! It looks soooo tacky! There was a girl out there the other night in purple flashing shoes, clearly visible from Scottsdale Rd. Opinions?

Very Tacky. Reminds me of the nudie bars on Broadway Ave in San Francisco.

^^Ditto on the tacky thing. The girls do the same thing at Bombshells, walk right outside, pull a shirt on or pants on, but basically standing out there in their stripper gear. What makes it even worse, we are RIGHT next to a McDonalds, parents, kids and teenagers are all going by these girls, watching them strut around like that. It bothers me a bit.

The other thing that bothers me, and I didn't notice it before, but guys who smoke and, some who don't even, are not buying dances from girls, they're waiting around and asking, "So, you going outside to smoke anytime soon?" Then follow the girls out, and hang out with them there, talk our ears off, flirt and try to get somewhere with it all. Annoying!

yep, not too crazy about it now.

The clubs are going to HAVE to make a designated smoking area for the girls that is more out of sight and inaccessible to customers. Or at LEAST make girls get fully dressed to go out. HL girls are doing it too - just pull on something and go outside, basically half-dressed. I can already see some angry fat soccer mom bitch or crabby old mormon hag complaining at the next city council meeting about all the "tacky whores" standing around outside the stripclubs to smoke half-dressed in front of their kids and husbands ::)

I've seen it at both HL and Skin, left me scratching my head both times. Not surprisingly traffic in front of the HL seemed a bit slow, lots of gawkers driving by, LOL I'm guessing there will be an accident there pretty soon.

I'm not surprised management are stupid enough to let this shit go on - they probably think it'll bring in customers. Either that or they just aren't thinking. Morons. What they should be thinking about is all the bitches who are gonna be pissed off about it and the wrath they can/will bring down on us all. It's one thing when we keep it contained within our buildings, but when we let it spill out onto the streets it's just begging for trouble. Idiots.

I think I'm gonna post a nice little sign in the dressing room at HL. Very nice of course ;D Perhaps you girls working at other clubs should do something similar. hehe

But, as I always say, no one ever accused stripclub management of being smart ::)

Ick girls just smoking out front of clubs in stripper gear? that is way tacky. I would rather not smoke at all that be standing out in the open in my gear. Bourbon built a patio just for the girls off the dressing room with 9' tall walls. I smoke way less because during the day it is too freakin hot outside but its nice to be able to have a smoke and tan my boobies a little bit. I have actually seen my earnings go up a bit because it is not so conveniant to smoke anymore. Less time smoking=more time on the floor. I am definately a happy camper with the building being non smoking.

Looks to me like Bourbon St and the Candy Store have it figured out some.. BSC built a little walled smoking patio off the back for the girls.. customers I assume have to go out in the parking lot. (which makes me wonder how they handle people going in and out once they're charging cover..) And the Candy Store put up a covered patio chainlink fence (the fence having some kind of vinyl siding so no one can see anything from Cave Crk Rd) dog-run looking thing out their side door for everyone.. I did see quite a few customers timing their cig breaks to coincide with their favorite dancer. :)

Well, at least some clubs have it together. You would think they all would've planned for this, since we all knew it was coming so far in advance, and built something at least semi-private for the girls to smoke in. yeesh

Case in point, last night I was outside with a few other girls, and in the drive through line, which runs right by the front door to the club, we heard guys yelling out their window at some of the girls "F*ckin hot baby!" "How much for that ass girl!" etc.... the car behind them, some soccer mom mini van ofcourse.

A few of the girls were fully dressed, but a couple of them have on these itty bitty microscopic shorts, tiny shirts and their heels, with the glowing straps they wrap and twist up their calves or fishnet thigh highs on. I mean really...come ON!

Bad things are going to happen this way, it's only a matter of time.

CCP set up a nice little smoke break area for entertainers in the shade at the back gate. Little plastic patio table and chairs. We aren't even allowed to walk in the main entrance when we arrive for work, there was NO WAY they'd allow us to mingle with custies for smoke breaks. I'm soooo glad I don't smoke.

Skin just does not have the space to really build anything like that, at least not near the dressing room. Have any of you had problems with girls missing their stages b/c they were outside smoking? They started fining girls, but they still do it all the time.

ExoticEngineer

K, here's tacky and bad biz for you all.... on the subject of missed stages. One girl came running into the club from being outside, had her sneakers on, her jeans and her stripper top...came to the stage in her jeans, took them off on the stage (her thong was on underneath) and did the stage barefoot.

I mean, I like how this club is a bit more laid back, but uhm, wtf?

I know some places all or msot of the girls do stages barefoot, but here, it's jsut not seen... well, not usually :-\

And yah, McD's right next door, from where we stand outside we can see right into the cars going through the drive through.

Bad things are going to happen this way, it's only a matter of time.Yep. Somebody needs to slap some sense into these people before it causes a huuuuuuuge mess. All it takes is the wrong preacher's wife or pissed-off soccer mom to see that crap ("OMG Martha did you seeeeee that??? There's prostitution going on right there in the parking lot, in front of our KIDS!!!"), and before you know it we'll have picketers in our parking lots and/or a new city ordinance proposal ...

This kind of thing HAS happened in other towns before.

However, this is not caused by the smoking ban. It's just idiots who can't think past their noses long enough to realize we can't have half-naked girls standing around in the parking lots. Duh!! :beat:
