I would definitely also talk to apartment management about the key change thing. That makes me think the weirdo is apt staff... which is double scary due to access.
Did you have to tell your apt about your number change for gate reasons? (if you have a gated apt comp) They have keys to your apt and could possibly enter when you're gone. It may even be someone so obsessed they changed jobs as a maintenance worker or gardener (didn't you say this started at another complex?)

^^ yup, the calls and everything started before i moved here. which makes me think the two might not even be related.
haha, natalie, i might just do that ;) but not if mike's dog is mean to other animals because jasper wouldnt like that! (and your doggies too! big dogs=yuck. :P )

You can fold up a piece of paper and stick it between the door and the doorframe after you shut the door. Use paper the same color as the door or frame so it won't show. If the door is opened, the paper will fall out. When you get home, check that the paper is stlll there. Even if an intruder notices the paper falling out, he will not be able to shut the door from inside and replace the paper. Of course, if there is more than one door, you will have to do this at both.
Is there a bouncer you could trust to escort you home and stay with you while you check the place?

I'm just going to go ahead and admit that it was me in your apartment. Yes, yes, I have been stalking you for awhile. You might notice some of your panties are missing.. or those naked pictures of me on your bed that weren't there before.. Yep, it's me.. I confess!

i want to go home NOW. unfortunately, it is 5:30 in the morning my time. i just woke up to a lovely phone call, that has me thinking. im pretty sure that the original calls and the call i just got are only related in the way that this person knows about the first ones. i was talking about what happened in the dressing room with a few girls im close with the other night, and i got in an argument with this one girl the same night. the first thing that occurred to me what that it would be her. but then the second was that yup, obviously my feelings lately and the calls ARE related.
if i find out that it's the bitch from work (and we all know i'll find out if it is) can i press charges? though its only one call, it's a harrassing call. and she DESERVES it, crazy bitch. (actually, i erased the message. i hit the key to erase it the second i heard what i knew was coming. i couldnt listen to it and it was like instinct to get rid of it.)
anyway, im wide awake now. unfortunately, with my class schedule today, i dont have time to go home before rush hour. i might just skip class to pack up my kitty and go home.
what am i supposed to do????

i dont think i could use a gun. i think if i had one, i'd be scared that someone would come in and find it and then they'd have it against ME.
as for security, i live in a not so great apartment complex and we dont have any.
:( so yeah.. im kinda scared.

PS If you buy a taser get the one with the electrodes on a wire...they shoot out of the taser...I have an ugly big clunky taser that is only good for hitting people over the head.
;D Sorry, but the visual of someone coming at you and you yelling , "Hold on now, I've got a taser!" and then chucking it at their head was TOO funny!

you have to save the call records. it's just further proof when you do decide to press charges. volume counts a lot in those cases.
also, if it was another girl from work, could she be seeing this thread/post? :O
whether or not the calls (one, two, twenty, etc.) are harassment-level is really up to the prosecutor but hte more evidence you can present, the more likely s/he will pursue the case.
get the surveillance stuff but don't say anything to anyone imo. do some of the other things too but again, keep it to yourself (or to pm's) rather than give anyone a chance to bypass stuff. good luck!

^^ yeah, it's always possible that she could see it.. but the only thing that i think she has anything to do with is the phone call i got this morning.

^^ thats scary. :-\
another weird thing i forgot to mention..my dishwasher is broken, and i called maintenence twice for them to fix it. nothing happened. i finally went to the office, and they sent someone out. i was there when the guy came, but a day later i got a notice saying that maintenence couldn't get in and i must have changed the locks, and i needed to go to the office for them to make a copy of my key. i havent changed the locks.. and theyve been in before, they came in when i was gone for a month around the holidays. i ignored the notice, because i certainly wasnt letting them make a copy of my key when i never changed the locks. it just struck me as weird. but like i said.. probably unrelated, and i'm just thinking too much. who knows.
I don't want to add to the paranoia, but I thought about this a little. Only a little, though. And I haven't finished reading all of the posts. Anyhow, has it occurred to you that whomever has been in the place took the maintenance people's key and gave them a fake? See if you can have them bring their key over and verify that they have a real one.

You start sending the phone company and local police a log of your received "blocked number" calls by using the "call trace" function in tough-tone service. Usually *57.
Verify that the glass door, when locked, is actually locked.
You may not want to set aside time for this, but it would help if you would try to recreate a schedule. See if your intruder is using a predictable schedule, This might be easiest with the phone calls, but you'll know whether the place looks like it was disturbed when you were out for the evening, afternoon or morning.

Revisiting the key issue: If the maintenance people's key does work your door still, then it could have been temporarily taken, either for use at the time or to copy, and then replaced.
I wish there was some easy way to verify all this stuff.
