I can honestly say the following:

1. I no longer remember how or why I am in this section anymore.
2. I have actually laughed so hard that I had a temporary black out from lack of oxygen.
3. I only wish that I could hear you all say your vaginal euphemisms out loud. It would literally slay me.
4. I feel dirty.

Garlic didn't work. I now have yogurt up my cunt.

Sugar free plain yogurt with Acidophilus. Have it in my DivaCup and a little bit swabbed between my labia (where it itches the most.) Boyfriend was most amused.

Damn, speaking of YI. I have a stubborn one that does not want to go away! I slept with it on Friday night and on Monday night, & I still have it. >:( :( The garlic always worked for me sleeping 8 hours with it once. Now it's not working. And I just went to my gyno, about two weeks ago so I didn't get any prescriptions. Any reccomendations ladies?

it's time to change your diet. seriously, it works, you have to stave off the parasite. The parasite lives off things that are yeast related. stop eating refined sugars and stop eating substitute sugar. stop drinking/taking caffiene.

Eat lot's of vegatbles and take homeopathic goldenseal.

while you are changing your diet, try otc yeast inf. medicine. For me, i have to try one type, and then if it doesn't work try another type. (There's like 4 different types, some are kind of clear and greasy and some are kinda of white and creamy). Play aroound until you have one that works.

Well, my turn for the garlic clove. Let's see if this helps. If not, I'm using the OTC 1-dose thing I bought yesterday, but I hope I dont have to.

Sigh.

There is now a clove of garlic up MY twat.

This had better work, I tell ya.

ETA: You know how the TV network chef Emeril Lagasse always says garlic like gaaaaahlic? I can't stop thinking about it. But hopefully it will *POW! BAM!* those fungi up out of me. Soooo creepy.

Its so great that we can just throw it all out there on SW. And I can't believe how many people have had garlic in their kittys since this thread began!!

Ahh, love it!

Does gahhlic work for BV?

No, garlic is only an antifungal and not an antibacterial. Some people say large doses of probiotics and douching with diluted hydrogen peroxide can cure BV over a period of several weeks.
If you can't wait that long, or if it doesn't work, then get the prescription stuff.

Calendula cream is awesome too. Soothing, antifungal, anti-histaminey, it's awesome.

Calendula.
And celery seed, for burny uric acid.
I put garlic on my face too. Cleans out the pores.

This works great...no burn.......its a wonderful method for persistent yeast infections. I left it in overnight until it went away, but I can't remember for how long I did this. Just be prepared....in the morning I could always taste a hint of garlic, so no doubt my breath reeked like it (I didn't ask anyone, maybe I'm being a pessimist) :P.

That is how I do it also!
I was just going to post about that. Here is part of an online article I found with instructions on how to do it:

"Females can use garlic suppositories for dealing with vaginal yeast infections. You can make a suppository by peeling a single clove of garlic; the clove needs to be bruised or crushed to activate its ingredients. The clove has to be wrapped in a single-layered cheesecloth. It can then be vaginally inserted. This treatment should be repeated five to ten days for optimal treatment. If skin irritations occur, it is advised that you coat the cheesecloth with yogurtcontaining probiotics. You can attach a piece of dental floss to the cheesecloth so that the suppository can be removed with ease."

Garlic? Yogurt?

Just dip a tampon in tzatziki sauce and call it a day.

I don't know if this has already been said, but today I put kefir up there.:) If you don't have kefir plain yogurt should work. In my experience it gets rid of the itching asap and it pretty much stops it in its tracks!

I know this sounds weird, but I don't think I've ever had a yeast infection. Is this possible? What if I have had one but did not know it? Is that possible? I know you get itchy and get a weird discharge but I haven't had anything like that yet. Are there other symptoms?

^ I had my first and only one last year, so I think it's totally possible to never have one.

Just a question for all the ladies showing garlic and yoghurt up their vajayjay's - is there a particular reason you're going about this method as opposed to taking a one off pill or using the cream? I've only had the one Y.I. but I was so impressed with how quickly and effectively the pill worked. Like after 4 days of discomfort and itching, it was all gone in less than a day after taking the pill.

I've never had one either, not even when I was on hardcore antibiotics. We should count ourselves lucky.

You should be using natural Greek yogurt, purest of the pure. Just like us. ;-)

I find yogurt doesn't necessarily fix it, but fuck it feels sooo relieving and stops me scratching!

(1) I love this very educational site.
(2) I am relieved to learn that the OP is definitely NOT a vampire.

You could try hump'n a bag of flour in the shower too. probably won't cure the YI, but at least you can always throw it in the oven and make some nice garlic bread.:D
