what excersizes would I do to get the top of my ass to be more round? I do squats and lunges. The bottom looks great, but these 2 women have really curvy top parts of their asses too. I want!!!

My beloved booty is almost gone with all that weight I lost. :'( I'm hoping I can gain it back, and with a new trainer it'll be bubble again. I will consider those shots on top only if I don't achieve to get my bubbleness again. Ugh, it's depressing. ***must eat more rice and beans***

To make the top of your ass rounder....

Sit on your ankles with your legs spread and lean forward so that your ass muscle is stretched out as far as it can be. Flex it, like a hundred times. Then repeat with your legs a little more together and leaning a little less forward. Another dancer taught me this and it gave me an ass when I did it... but then I stopped and now my ass is gone. :-(

Lena more detail please...is this like the "butterfly" kids used to do in gym class. Ex. Put soles of your feet together, sitting "indian style"? Like that or am I picturing this all wrong?

Lies! You're just lazy and want my brain-meats! Fine, here are some of my favorites.

Kickbacks
Start out on a mat on your hands and knees, weight evenly distributed. Draw one knee forward and underneath you and then extend your leg straight behind you, lifting the foot above body position, without overarching your back. When extending and lifting the leg, the work portion of the lift should come directly from the hip area. Do not overarch your back to elevate the leg. As this exercise becomes easier, wear ankle weights for more resistance. Do 2-3 sets of 8-15 reps.

Step Ups
For step ups, you simply place one foot on a step or platform and push through the heel onto the step. This is an excellent exercise for the glutes, providing you use a step that's high enough...just make sure your knee is bent to 90 degrees or less to keep it safe.

The other key to making this move work is to concentrate all your weight on the stepping leg. In other words, lower down gently, barely touching the toes of the other leg to the ground. You'll really feel this when you take it slow and concentrate on the working leg. Do 2-3 sets of 8-15 reps.

One-Legged Deadlifts
Stand holding weights in front of thighs and place left leg out behind you with the toe lightly touching the floor (or lift it completely off the floor for more of a challenge). Keeping the shoulders back, abs in and the back straight, tip from the hips and lower the weights towards the floor. Lower as far as your flexibility allows. You can bend the knee slightly if you need to. Push into the heel to go back to starting position. Do 2-3 sets of 8-15 reps.


Perform these, in addition to your regular leg program, twice a week with at least two day's rest between the workouts. You may work other areas of your body. If working abs the same day, wait until after the leg and glute workout.

They're a tough move. Sometimes, it's easier to see it. This is how it should look when you're at the top of the move.

Sorry to bump, but I'm still curious. I got around to doing this butt exercise (I did 50) and it's working already. Question is: Do you do this daily? Like 100 w/ legs spread more, then 100 legs closer together?

^ Yep. I do 100 with my legs spread and leaning all the way forward, 100 with legs spread and my arms straight so I'm just leaning partway forward, and 100 with my legs more together (not all the way together) leaning partway forward.

This thread inspired me to start doing it again and my ass is already coming back. :-)

Are you squeezing? I tried doing multiple angles like Lena suggested, but I just felt like I was squeezing the same muscles. That hurt, so I stopped.

Oh man Lena I really wish you could see how I tried this exercise when all you said was "sit on your ankle." It was a trainwreck LOL but I'm doing the clarified version and I really like it so far.
Is it ok to alternate cheeks or should it be at the same time?
My left cheek pops so much better than the right I'm noticing too on a sidenote it's very weird.
