I *WAS* a dancer for a little under two years. Started in early 2005, ended around fall of 2006. I got into the business as a way to salvage myself from a horrible financial situation so bad, that it would challenge even that of a single mom. I stayed with it for a while because it was fun, allowed me to splurge a little on myself(nice cars, new furniture, etc), and because at the time, I wasn't able to find another job that paid enough to cover costs of living. I stopped dancing because after the newness of it wore off, I started getting burned out and wanted to focus on non-dancing jobs in my field. I have no desire to dance again, but I do think it'd be fun to work in a strip club again as a bartender or cocktail waitress.

I danced for the first time when I was 18, for one night only, at an all nude club; and then worked verrry sporadically over the years at random gogo bars while doing the school thing. At 24, I decided to return to dancing "full-time" (aka my sole source of income) and went back to the nude club. I just turned 26 and tentatively plan on dancing for at least 5 more years, or at least until I reach my money goals...

I've been dancing now for over 5 years- started 2/18/02 at a little hole in the wall club that no longer exists. I definitely love how much I've learned about myself and the industry in general in that time. Have probably another 5-10 years left in me, if I remember to work out and keep in shape.

Is this just pertaining to dancing? Or does theater or singing count?
I started dancing lessons at 7 and I'm 36 now....you do the math:)

I started while I was going to college in 1997. It was just supposed to be a way to get through school. Then I graduated and worked in Silicon Valley ( which was my goal) then 9/11 and the tech bubble burst and here I am dancing again full time for the past 4 years.
I LOVE it, I am way smarter about it now and make more money than I ever did and work A LOT less! I don't put any age on when I will quit, I have been dancing all around the country, on and off for ten years!

Six years. With month or two breaks every few years in between.
Dancing time is like dog years or something. It goes by so quickly!
