I'm really sad for you and Peanut, Kay.
:'(
You've got a big heart for doing all this for her, and I think it's worth every ounce of energy and every penny. Love and snuggle that cat as much as you can, and give her a head scratch for me.
 to you and kitty.

So wanna update to this?
The vet decided that Peanut did need all of her teeth pulled as her only chance at a possible fix. Maybe not a cure, but it would make her more comfortable. The vet decided that Peanut needed this done so bad, and since we couldn't afford the surgury, they covered it. All we paid was $130. They paid the other $600. Peanut had the worst case of stomatitis they had ever seen before, she was in bad shape. They pulled all of her teeth except the small ones in the front. Peanut also had a case of strep and a second infection in her mouth, which we were given the proper antibiotics to cure.
Since the surgery, we have a new cat. She was actually completly cured. she is toothless, but happier than ever. It's kinda sad..cause I never knew what an awesome cat she really was. her personality is so much different now. She's very loving and playful and just a cool cat.
She is going in for her 1 month check up next week, but she will not need anymore medication or further treatment. The vet says that she may need a shot of steriods once every 6 months or so, but that should be it. Her anemia and other problems were also cured with the teeth removal. Pretty much, her body went haywire, her immune system was attacking itself and her gums, and then she had other infections in her mouth, but since she was on steriods to suppress her immune system the infections got worse, and although he was on constant antibiotics, they were the wrong type to treat the infections she had. So once they biopsied the tissue and discovered what type of infection it was, were were able to give her the right antibiotics to kill it. And since her teeth are all gone, her immune system is no longer attacking the gums, so her immune system went back to normal, not in overdrive anymore hurting all of her body systems, which made her anemia and kidneys and everything go back to normal.
Like I said, it's posisble in the future her immune system may act up again, but a dose of steriods should put it back in it's place, now that it's no longer attackign itself.
Anyway...yeah. I have healthy cat.
Wanna hear somethign really really strange?
SInce Peanut got healthy..Butter started acting like a complete bitch. Attacking her and the puppy for no reason, just beign mean and unpredictable for no reason. I have no idea why that's happening, but she's commign to the vet with us for peanut's checkup so I can ask the vet what's going on with that. Maybe cause Butter was used to having Peanut hide in the shadows and now she has to share the house? Dunno.

This vet is absolutly amazing and wonderful. She's young and funny, and awesome at her job. And she cracks me up. She asked me one day if I watch The Girls Next Door, and when I said I never saw it she goes, " Oh, shut up! You HAVE to watch that show."
I love this vet.

What a great vet! She is someone who cares about animals and not just making money off their frightened owners. If I didn't already have a great vet and it weren't a day's drive, I'd give her my business for what she has done for you.
And Butter will come around. She is just reacting to a new cat in the house, because Peanut is not the same cat she was.
I am so glad this worked out for you.

Just out of curiosity what is the name of the medicine you need for her?

I'm sorry that was my fault I didn't pay attention to realize that your initial post was dated and your kitty is feeling better now! That's great!

I'm so glad you found the right treatment for your cat!
Actually, yes, your theory there sounds the most likely. If Butter was used to being the dominant cat in the hierarchy and now Peanut is challenging her, they're having one of those kitty territorial disputes. The best solution for those, I find, is to give them both as much love and cuddles as possible, and if there's more than one person in the household, each of you take responsibility for one cat's cuddles to give them some extra sense of security/belonging. :-)

Yay for Peanut! Does she have to eat nothing but wet food now?

I offer her wet food every day, but she can also eat the dry food.
She swallows it whole, which the vet said she would probably do and that's fine. She is still adjusting to it, and barfs the food up a lot, but it's an adjustment and she will be ok. Plus she eats the wet stuff as well, so she's getting nutrition.
