Moved out at 18 to a dorm in a different city. I've been back there for long stretches plenty of times. Once for a month, where I began my elusive career in Houston stripclubs (;)), then I've been back and forth bet somewhere in Austin and using their home as a free place to stay while I made some money and/or partied. Fortunately they are all so crazy that I got away w almost everything all the time. Then again, I'm close to their dysfunctional asses.

I was forced to move out of home around age 21 or 22.
It wasn't too long after my mother's death (transition) that Dad wanted to move out of the home she had died (transitioned) within.............and he saw that as a great opportunity to help me move out of home.
He did help. I inherited as much furniture as I could take with me from the house (and still have alot of it as it is good quality furniture) and he paid the bond of that place.
I can't go back. I refuse to go back. I'm too damn independant nowdays to want to be a child again.
Plus I just don't want to live with my folks. No way.

18. Couldn't have done it soon enough. I took a year off between high school & college to get the novelty of independence (read: mucho partying, among other things) out of my system before I knuckled down to the rigors of full-time academic/conservatory life.
One of my best decisions, I think. Lots of life experience (read: mucho partying, among other things) AND a freshman year that wasn't a total waste.

15, never went back.
In some cultures it's not weird at all for a son (even with kids) to live with his parents. It's expected and the norm. *shrug*
Myself I think it's odd but that's just me. :)

A few days before I turned 18. I was sorta' rebellious, and my ma' knew that I'd be gone the minute I turned of age, so she reluctantly let me move out a few days before.
