If I do a major stage show, I get my house fee free + $30, too. Woot.
Anyway., Bar20 rules:
Thanks for your inquiry,
Unlike some clubs in other states we do not take a percentage of what you earn, here you pay a house fee and then what you make is yours to keep.
House Fees $50
You have around 2-3 podiums a night which are compulsory and consist of a 20 minute set. You may strip on the podium if tipped, or you may use one of our personal dancing rooms.
It is full nudity in the state of Victoria with a strictly no touching policy.
It is compulsory that every night every girl in the club participates in the “mega-strip”, which occurs every night at 10.30pm. This is where every girl gets on stage and strips naked.
What sets us apart form other clubs is the way we look after our girls, with FREE solariums and FREE products. We also pay our girls for the “feature Shows” they perform.
We like to promote that we are a show club. We have performance shows at 9pm, , Midnight, , 1.30am and on the busy nights 3am. If you perform a mini-show you receive a $40 credit note which you can use to pay your house fees. If you perform a major show, you receive $80 which you may also use to pay your house fees.
Lockers are available for a $20 deposit and then that locker is yours until you leave the club.
You must have a tax file number an ABN, or a working visa to work at Bar20.
We have on-site training available for new girls and we also have show training and pole dancing training all for a cost of $25 per hour.
We have on-site make-up artists and on-site hair dresser’s every Thursday/Friday and Saturday nights.
We have a DJ that plays all the latest tunes.
Rosters are from:
5-2am
6-3am
7-4am
8-5am
9-close
10-close
It is worth noting that we don not have an official closing time, we just close when the crowd dies down, but we are licensed until 7am.
You may do as many or as few shifts a week as you like, all we ask is that you do 1 Saturday a month.
The first step is to come in for an interview; you may do this 7 days a week, anytime after 7pm. Someone will interview you on the spot. Hope to meet you soon.

That sounds effin awesome!!
I like the sound of only 2-3 podiums per night, I do about 10 per night and it makes me loose money. I have to often refuse to extend dances coz I have to be on the stupid podium.
ALso I like the sound of the set finish times. We dont have that either.
Of course u got accepted LM - you're da shit.;)
I am soo going to come and see one of your shows! Let me know what day/time you will be on! That would be awesome!!
Also, I always wanted to work @ bar20, but never had the balls (per-se) as I always get nervous when I go in there (although the girls are a mixed bag and range from hot and not, like gold fingers, which is a bigger club, but I always chicken out in the end)

No Showgirls Bar 20. my memory is a bit fuzy but Im sure i didnt have to wait around to find out if i got hired or not. Dallas is the same though - every club Ive worked at has told me straight away come to think of it.
Hmm. Are you talking about Dallas Dancers? I've been there and that's exactly how it operates.

how u findin bar20 lillith?
it's THE CLUB that you tend to hear the most scary stripper tales about in melbourne (well out of the main clubs anyway) so i'm curious as to the opinions of a legit bystander!!!
whats it like? could the rumour mill be true? are dance's over the line or is it all b.s.?
(how gossipy do i sound? really, am genuinely interested, not just gossiping!)

Having been there three times last year, allow me to enlighten you to some degree.
I really enjoyed my visits to Showgirls Bar 20. As well as having a fun atmosphere and plenty of lovely ladies, it really opened my eyes in terms of how small and close-knit the Australian exotic dance industry is.
In fact, one of the girls there (who used to dance in Adelaide) knew who I was before I even arrived, since she still has friends working at the Crazy Horse. ;)
As far as the actual dances go, a few of the girls actually told me to touch them in certain places. Whether or not you would want this, though, is completely up to you.
Finally, I've heard no horror stories about Bar 20, and being a customer, I'm sure I'd be the last to hear them.

I was walking to work last night and the doorman from Bar20 started talking to me. He asked where I worked (I had my trolley suitcase, a dead giveaway) and I was asking him about Bar20. He said they are always busy and are open til 7am most nights (even weeknights).
He was really friendly. Actually the guys on the door are really friendly there.
Another reason I am over my club is coz of our security, or lackthereof. Im sick of guys getting away with having their stupid mobile phones out when they are sitting right at the table. There never seems to be security around when you need them and its just pissing me off.
I should not have to tell people off all the time that's not my job.
END RANT.
Plus a friend from my club is now working at Bar20 and loving it.
I really want to try out bar20!

Hey is it true that Goldfingers are only letting new girls work MON-FRI??? Does anyone know. I have worked there previously, late last year, and was thinking of going back. But i want to be able to work weekends.
Also Jaizaine how is CF's going? I like that club, i left after working there on and off earlier this year, was great money then, but i hear its really bad now. I was thinking of asking Liz if i could come back.....
I just really want a nice club to work at again.
I dont know why GF would only allow new girls work monday to friday (though it could be in place to phase out the 30something dancers who have been there for some time (and the club wants them to 'leave') and doing it politely!

No it's not true. Goldfingers requires you to work 3 shifts minimum per week. That put me off the place because I like more flexibility as to how often I work.
CF is actually great at the moment on friday and saturday nights. I am making the same amount again (after a slow april, may) as I did during summer. Don't bother with weeknights tho, they are beyond pathetic.
I really want to get back to work, but I like wearing shorter clothes (like skirt and bra) rather then a dress... I really do not want to go back to GF (I do but I dont, kinda like going back to being too comforatble)
I wonder how hard it is to get into bar20.. .I tried and got knocked back 3 years ago @ GP... I wonder if they are easier on their hiring?
Sounds like a good venue to try!!

^^
Babe prob just coz everyone wants to work during GP!! They have girls from interstate etc. I doubt it was a personal thing rather than a numbers thing.
let me know if u want a buddy to try it out with!!
I wouldn't mind working there while LM is down and keep it hush hush in case I dont like it.

Send your photos to bar20, they might accept. They did for me and I have an offer to work whenever I want there, now.
Anyway, I'm not sure if I wanna work the clubs any more with that shooting. :/

^^
Dont let that put u off, it was a personal incident rather than a random shooting.
I too sent through photos before leaving QLD only to get here and they say no! I had a very similar email to the one you posted a few posts back LM.
I would not rely on them as the only club for work whist your here.
The only reason I initially travelled here was to work in bar20, got accepted via email, the rejected in RL. GF gave me a job on the spot though!

That wasn't an email they sent me, it was an attachment to the email. The actual email they sent wa telling me they'd be happy to take me on and they couldn't wait to see me soon.
And I wouldn't rely either... I'll just go to GF if they do that shizzits to me.

Working in Melbourne is perfectly safe Morr. The shooting is so ramdom and a personal incident. Since you aren't involved with the management and/or any bikers then I doubt you would have to worry about being harassed except my drunks on the street.
Then again, if you rug up (like I did) and don't have a rolling suitcase (I put all my stuff in a toiletry luggage case - enough space, more discreet, easy to store and the combination lock kept it secure) then people won't know what to make of you ... you could've been a waitress for all they know (plenty of bars along the street).

I wasn't talking about my safety... I was talking about the fact less people will be frequenting the clubs to spend money knowing there was a shooting there.

OH! Totally get you on that one... the effects of the shooting will only last for a fortnight. Why? Tax time is coming up therefore that will be on everyone's minds ... as a species we are easily distracted and can be forgetful. I have noticed this over the many years.
After two weeks, unless it was something like 9/11, people usually forget about these sorts of incidents... there will be something else in the news to distract them and they will have 'on their mind' as such.

Last I heard money was still shit in America thanks to 9/11... but probably.
I'll be there in early July right after the tax monies come back to the rich mens with the pocketbooks so I might get lucky.
Oooh ohh, last time I worked in the club a guy broke his wallet getting me another round of VIP room. He gave me the broken wallet bit as a present. I want to put it in a scrapbook and show people when I'm old, 'This is from the time I was so hot I broke men's wallets!"

There was a shooting INSIDE the club I worked in in Sydney, I dont think it effected buisness adversly anymore than the rude staff and poor service did (-:
