i'm with Yehefah on this. though i try not to develop to much loyalty to any party, i find myself most often in agreement with what republicans supposedly stand for. but i'm increasingly more disappointed with both the republicans and the democrats these days.

It hasn't always been this way. There was a time when elected officials were running for office because they felt a real need to serve in the public interest.

Today people run for public office to serve private interests. We are well on the road to fascism and we began heading down that road in the Viet Nam era.

Republicans, Democrats, it doesn't matter anymore. Because ultimately both parties are in the game to line the pockets of big corporations and to gain money and power for the individuals involved in government.

Just about every person involved in powerful government positions has corporate ties. Democracy in America is gone. You can see the signs everywhere. For instance, when did we stop being citizens and started being "consumers"?

There are some very difficult times ahead for Americans, I believe.
