View Full Version : Couple fighting to name their baby 4Real
For me, one of the oddest names I've personally known was when one of my friends (yes a dancer) named her daughter Treasure Victoria. The last name is Fox.

Oh, that just reminded me of Coach Sheats at my old high school. His last name is pronounced "sheets" and when I was a freshman in high school, he was in his early 20's and had just started teaching. His wife had a baby girl that year and they actually named that little girl Satin Sheats. They thought it was hilarious. We didn't believe him at first but we saw the birth announcement in the paper and everything. Satin Sheats would be about fifteen now... I can only imagine the teasing she's getting. She'll grow up to be a stripper or a porn star, or swing the opposite way and be a nun.

in history I find it amazing that prostitute and nun professions/life choices were like.. what girls options were... either your a nun or a hooker... I find that really funny.

Well come on, you couldn't expect them to enter professions where they'd have to compete with MEN!

well no of course not, I'm just saying, in her life a woman had two options if she was either not rich, a farmer, married or an orphan... and they were pretty polarly(oh yes... i's a word in my dictionary) opposit and many did both (hooker and nun)... one for a while then the other, I just find it ironic she can either be "godly" or "sinner"... anyway yeah threadjacking and all, I'm sorry.

Heheh. I went to school with a guy named Craven Moorehead. :D
Oh, and when I was in elementary school, this kid named Charlie Arreola tried to make fun of me because I had glasses, but I was a badass and countered with "well at least my last name doesn't mean nipple!! Go look in the dictionary!"

on my sisters birth cert the doctors name is Dr. Death, we always have a good laugh @ that!
Some weird names out there.... I only wished my name was spelt different (however in the last 10 years the spelling has become more popular)

I had a teacher named Richard Burns. He was old, so I guess I understand. But having dick burns on my parent newsletters was too much.
I knew a girl with the last name boner. He now, oddly enough, identifies as male.
My real name is weird, but I've always loved it. It sets me apart.
Fun fact: in 1917, out of the 1000 top names for girls, Gay and Santa were on this list. Times change, and people and the government should accept that.
Who will get made fun of more? A girl named Arwen, or a girl named Gay Santa? ;)

I feel sorry for people with crazy names. If they want to change their own name - whatever. Change your name to something stupid if you want.
But I'm glad the government is there to protect the children who are being given names that will likely get them bullied and harassed in school and stuff! I don't think parents should give their kids names that will have them made fun of for life. Poor kids!!!
That being said ... there are tons of unique names out there. It doesn't have to be just plain weird. It can be unique still. Something that sounds decent.
