Someone played a weird, long, uncensored version of NERD's lapdance. It was HORRIBLE.

I was trying to dance for this elegant pharmacist British guy when the song started going, "Do this bitch on her daddy's bed blah blah blah gotta check ID but the bitch was still 16, etc etc"

So has anyone actually ever danced to or heard Warrant's Cherry Pie in the sc before?
.

Many MANY times yes.

I'm sick of hearing that "Pretty Pussy" song. Seriously, Lexus. You're cool and all but none of us have even seen your pussy.

I am thinking I should dance to "What's It Gonna Be".

I'm a little late on this, but had to chime in and say that I've seriously considered bringing it in and trying to get my DJ to play it.

"Well, I've got a lot of bitches to plow..."

:D

They played Wyclef's "Sweetest Girl (Dollar Bill)" 3 times at work last night. A couple of times I was on the side stages and was trying not to laugh during. The "Closed legs don't get fed..." part of the song really irks me. I like the tune, but WHY in the club??? GGGgrrrr... Stoopid heffas.

I guess Cherry Pie is just so typical it's like, a joke, I dunno. Maybe I just don't wanna hear any more 80's butt rock.

Sorry I know this has been said, but I just crack up when the song goes "girl, wash yo ass" you know....that famous one.....I forget.

Argh. I have to hear this too much. I wish they'd play that 'Just cause she dances go-go, it don't make her a ho' song instead. It's a Captain Save-a-ho sorta song, but at least it's not about how we 'trick by the tracks' and stuff.

I went to my old club (which got ridiculously ghetto) and some chick was dancing to a song called Bottom Bitch. I don't even know what a Bottom Bitch is, but it doesn't sound very nice.

radiohead- creep
bloodhound gang- the you and me aren't nothing but mammals so let's do it.. blah blah blah song.

That guy is one of the WORST DJ's I have EVER had to work with. I thought nothing could be worse than having to go off that shitty iPod during the day shift, but I realized I was wrong the first time I had to work with that useless blob. He's even making me start to resent "After Dark," which is a song I fucking LOVE, but he needs to get some new fucking break material before I choke him for ruining a great song.

Gypsy, he played you all those?? My eyes hurt to read that, sorry sister.

Gypsy74
02-14-2008, 08:53 PM
yeah- i'm NEVER tipping him, ever. I don't care- he can play me vanilla ice all night and i'll just deal with it, because a good entertainer CAN dance to ANYTHING... it's just we prefer not to have to dance to shit. but i will if it makes this guy leave.

Wow. I remember Johnny posting about how he had an uneasy feeling right after he hired him. Maybe he won't last long, let's hope!!! Please for the love of god make him a list of acceptable songs or something!

That reminds me of my first set ever, already posted about it in this thread but.....Nirvana Rape Me and that whiny nu rock shit "I'm not a perfect perrrrson" I wanted to stab a needle in my own eye for not realizing I could have done something about it. From then on I'm specific as heck, can't just say "rock" obviously.

Yea that's criminal Gypsy. :(

Dude. I was leaving tonight with $45 and, to be NICE for once, I gave that fat fuck a fiver. He held it between his fingers and glared at me and said, "Five? That's it?" Well, fucking yeah. I made a whopping $54 in stage tips and didn't do a single dance, and I had to tip the bouncer too, so exactly how much of my money do you think you should get? Grrr. I hate shitty greedy DJ's.

(Just to clarify, Gypsy and I are talking about the same dude.)

Gross- never heard that song and I don't want to. I seen a dancer wearing those words 'Bottom Bitch' on her outfit/:O . Gotta love GA!

Alexxa- 'twerk' is basically a play on work. 'Work' as in moving your ass.

Ah! Johnny's gonna be so hurt if you don't work for him, I can already tell. Use your sexual powerz to DO something about DJ Jukebox, that's RIGHT!

This DJ actually put me onstage to "Total Eclipse of the Heart" last night. I am not making that up. Apparently the bouncer really wanted to hear it, so he played it for my stage set. There were only two customers in the club at the time and they were playing pool, so I just refused to dance to it. DJ got all irritated when I refused to dance but WTF, who the hell can dance sexy to "Total Eclipse of the Heart"?

Then I wanted "Lily" by the Smashing Pumpkins and he said it was "identical music," just the same as "Total Eclipse." I think he might be deaf. That's the only explanation.

Add "Total Eclipse of the Heart" to the list of songs that should never even be thought of in a strip club!

The one and only. He agreed it was a lame song but the bouncer wanted to hear it, and somebody had to be onstage apparently even though no one was watching the stage. ::)

And to say it's the same as the Smashing Pumpkins is just retarded.

Who does that "dances gogo-dont make her a ho-no.." song anyways?

I'm almost embarassed to admit that i'm amused to hear y'all complaining about the DJ. I worked with him long before johnny hired him, and i'm SURE there were a few SW rants from me about him in the past for hte same reasons.

As for the after dark intermissions... I think johnny asked him to use that song. When he first s tarted he used this lame techno, like he did when i first met him.

And yeah, i almost WOULD rather just do the ipod thing and ignore him. He's given me some WIERDASS sets, and thats WITH my being on his "good side?"

Thankfully he's never pulled that BS with me over tips... if he'd said that to me, Yek, I'd totally be like "Oh so now your my PIMP?"

Not cool.

You're probably not going to believe this, but I danced to Total Eclipse once. On my birthday about two years ago at Cheetah's. It was an inside joke, and I totally wasn't serious about it. I had some friends there who were laughing and tipping me lots. Does that count?

Lol...Thanks Hon. Well It will be within the next 3 months. I have to get myself back in a high volume club where i can make the real dollars again, and plus i dont like snow..I take that back...I HATE snow!!!

Tell you the truth I have no idea who they will find, clubs in this area dont pay their Dj's well and the tipouts are very low (laughable in fact), I have always said you get what you pay for and its why alot of my area clubs have the Dj problems they have. (and apparently Oregon too...lol) Only reason I have stayed as long as I did was as a personal favor to one of the owners and I had some loose family ends to tie up before I could get back out there in the big game. and the biggest reason....

There are no fricken Jack In the BOX here!!!!!!

Oh, I'm mad on your behalf. That guy has to go. He played fucking Bonnie Tyler (and it wasn't even "Holding out for a Hero" lol j/k) for your stage set?? Bitched about a 10% tip?

Seriously, can SWers unite for some justice here to get this guy canned?

Oh, they know. Evidently the club's whole staff (owner, manager, bartenders) read every post on StripperWeb every day, so they are well aware of everything that has been said in this thread.

^I had someone request the Johnny Cash version of "Hurt". It's 8 bajillion times more depressing. They got an arched eyebrow and a "Oh, no, that's not going to happen." I might as well have just passed out shotguns and razorblades. In case you've never heard it, or seen the excellent video, here:
