the thing about Manhattan clubs is that the customer base isn't typical. Basically you've got one segment that is comprised of 'professional' people that work in Manhattan ... like stockbrokers, bankers, corporate execs, corporate attorneys etc. All of these guys' financial fates are basically tied to the fate of the US stock market / corporate economy. So if things continue to turn downhill economically speaking these guys start to worry, and don't spend tons of money in strip clubs or anywhere else. After all, in the brokerage / banking / legal industry, big downturns means lost jobs ... and where Manhattan is concerned it's the top of the food chain so if you lose your job there's nowhere else to go but down.

Then you've also got a large segment of foreign business travellers. You also have a small segment of domestic business travellers, but usually they are so shocked by NYC prices for hotel rooms and restaurant meals that they don't dare squeaking a strip club trip onto their expense account. At any rate, the foreign business travellers are a crap shoot as club customers ... versus being customers of an escort agency. I mean seriously, if a european businessman comes to Manhattan and wants an 'experience' to remember, for 1000 Euros he can call or some other girl of similar calibre and credentials and get exactly what he's looking for.

The third group is of course foreign and US tourists. However, usually the male tourists already have a female with them ... meaning that even if they do decide to hit a strip club that the spending is going to be moderate. Also, as America's economy worsens, American tourists are often choosing less expensive places to vacation than New York City these days.

I would take a wild guess that since Hustler doesn't have the same super-upscale reputation as PEC or Scores (regardless of the realities) that they will be hurt a bit more by a slow economy - which will affect 'middle class' discretionary spending moreso than the spending of the 'rich'. You have to keep in mind that a lot of the dollars being spent in Manhattan clubs is being spent by out-of-towners who do NOT know a whole lot about the clubs other than what they have heard on Howard Stern or what they read on StripClubList.

While I am the first to have nothing complimentary to say about Scores (East), I will say that many times when I was working there and talking to out of towners, their reason for coming to the club was basically: "It's the most famous club" or ""We listen to Stern everyday" "... we HAD to come check out Sterns club!"

No one really knows about Hustler. :( (That is, outside of NY). I wish it would work on marketing and branding a little, instead of simply PACKING it with an excessive amount of dancers..

I made a little money though, like $130 after fees and tip out! And I worked my ass off, literally, for every dollar.holy cow! If a dancer wo looks as amazingly awesome as you do in your pics made just over $100 things have changed 1000% since the last time I worked in NYC. Granted it was before 9/11 and the drop in the housing market but my best friend and I used to pull in at least $500 at Scores doing practicaly zero contact. Plus I can't remember seeing or hearing about extras going on in the club, just some otc arrangments here and there. What the heck happened to NYC ???

What the heck happened to NYC ???

Not a clue.

I remember working at Rick's when it first opened up. The dancers were talking about how they would "beat a girls ass" if they saw her grinding on a customer. Now that's the least of the worries in NYC.

Ho, ho, ho's.... and no, this ain't Santa talkin'.

You gals are all essentially correct. A few years ago there was a major dressing room brawl at one club where a "newbie" who was used to a more liberal atmosphere refused to observe certain basic ground rules and was, ahem ,
"disciplined" by some of the other dancers. Nowadays it's "see no ; hear no ; speak no evil".
Extras are BIG now because of high fees & tip-outs; a glut of dancers ( hiring standards are DOWN at all 3 big NYC clubs ) and there is a BIG demand for them. What used to be OTC stuff is now looked at by some as
simpler and easier to just do IN the club.

A year or so ago I would have agreed about PEC's more "upscale" rep and Scores "national exposure". Now Howard is off commercial radio and the wom
on Scores is terrible thanks to a LOT of negative pub. They do NOT get a lot of repeat business. PEC is still doing well but Hustler is definitely getting a more upscale clientele. Some of Scores & PEC's best earners work there now and took their regulars with them.

Most importantly there never were a LOT of whales and there aren't too many more now. The bulk of custies come from the middle class which is getting squeezed harder now than a few years ago. They simply have less to spend as Melonie pointed out. So , the Big 3 are essentially competing for the same number of whales and they are going to PEC , Scores & Hustler in that order according to my latest info. There is still a solid clique of high-rollers that goes to Scores and gets "taken care of". Hustler is still trying to build up that kind of clientele and does get much more repeat business than the other two. A- it's less expensive and B- the staff is just as friendly and helpful as PEC. Scores owes too many favors to too many people and will NEVER get rid of some of their worst goons.

Hustler is IMO been low volume, low quality the last week.. This was, of course to be expected.

Those of you interested in auditioning, I would probably recommend doing it now. Even though it's slow(ish) there's still plenty of money there IF ya know what you're doing. ALOT of girls have cleared out and gone back to wherever they came from, sooo Chris seems to be more willing to hire girls since New Years.

I would recommend getting in now, and then you'll have a spot locked in for whenever. Once you've worked there for a couple of months (assuming you're a valuable asset to the club) Chris will *generally* let you come and go as you please. ;)

Anyone have the inside scoop on house fees, tipouts, and VIP prices at Hustler right now? Is it still the same as the first post?

^^^I believe so: Kiki posted in the NYC thread around 2-3 months ago that it was the same as she'd mentioned last year, at the beginning of the post.

I'm still waiting for her to show me the ropes there! (As we agreed to meet when she came into town).

Kiki?... Kiki?... lol, JK!!!

One more question... what are the shoe regulations at Hustler? Whats permitted in terms of heel height, platforms, etc. I remember Rick's being pretty strict on the no platform rule, and cheetah had some weird regulation that your platform couldn't be more than 2.5 inches, some other club told me that clear shoes weren't allowed, and another place specified no boots. So forgive me if it sounds silly but NYC has some funny shoe rules.

laurcon

no prob with ridiculous platforms, just no boots, which might be obvious.

^^^ Gonna go in to reaudition tonight. Will post if there are any new rules, etc.
I need to reaudition since it's been over 2 months since I worked there. They require it in case you gained weight, got over the top tats, scars, etc.
I'm thinking of trying another club just for the hell of it though. I'll make up my mind by the end of the day....

To add or not to add...:
I saw some moderate platform shoes. House fees are the same as previous posts.

if you read this kiki, chris doesn't work mondays so you can't re-audition tonight.
but also since chris isn't there, the house mom might just let you work, esp cause we need girls on monday. idk but hopefully i'll see you soon! :)

Met Guennn tonight! Such a BEAUTY!!!

Ok, got rehired, saw many familiar Vegas beauties there. I Guess everyone is feeling the Vegas shut down...
I don't know how long I can last though. I did a few dances before 10pm, which is way more than I can say working a vegas shift at that time, but it was slow. Many girls were complaining. Even a manager was telling me how slow it was. Sure beats Vegas that for sure... I left in the negative though. House fee is high but potential is definitely there, you just gotta work HARD. If this club is struggling on a Tuesday night in Manhattan, just imagine everywhere else. I spent some time on the roof deck which is awesome if you want some time to "close"your sale or a smoke. You just can't dance there since it's outdoors. I would definitely go back but I doubt they're hiring any more girls. It's already saturated as it is and they're not tolerating much. I saw some girls get serious lip for not showing up on their schedule date.
Still a great, classy looking club. Definitely a go.

For anyone who works here:

What's the deal with the "waiting list"? I was put on it last night and am now kicking myself b/c in a last minute desperate attempt to work this week, I stopped by not looking my BEST I would say: had make up on but had been crying, hair up ... I know, I know - BAD). But Chris said it wasn't a "no."

Do girls really get contacted who are on the wait list?

Should I go back looking more glamorous and try again?

Or was my "type" - brunette, slim, small and perky boobs, tight ass, exotic and not barbie-faced - the look of too many of the girls already working there? IOW, I looked too much like what they already had...?

Hmmm, suggestions?

ya they don't call the waiting list, but they don't want to be mean i guess and see you naked and be like "nope! peace out"
a lot of times girls come in without enough experience and that's a prob. they tell them to go work at rick's or flash and then come back.
chris doesn't like a lot of make-up at all, really into the natural look. but like all men he likes make-up that looks natural and doesn't know he's looking at make-up.
also, he HATES hair up.
i wish i could have told you this stuff before you went in. it was honestly probably the hair, he just can't stand it up for some reason.
but he's a nice guy and he changes his mind, so i would definitely come back in a few weeks with your hair looking as long as possible! :)
we do have girls that sound like you physically, but there's also about 5 girls that could be my twin working there, so i don't think its a prob to hire a girl that looks like a few other girls.
def come back, without crying beforehand this time!! <3

Wow!!! He HATES hair up??? Wow!!! No wonder... I have curls and they were kinda frizzing so i figured, "well, I'll just show off my long neck and prominent jawline..." ...bad move...ok...

I guess I'll blow my hair straight if I go back to audition so it looks longer and neater than if I let my curls loose.

Thanks for the advice, Laurcon!
And thanks for the thread link, New Moon!

There's a Super 8 HOTEL in the Times Square Area that's VERY reasonable.

There's a Super 8 HOTEL in the Times Square ( 59 West 46th) Area that's VERY reasonable- like $220 a night. I know, I know but for Manhattan; that IS what passes for "reasonable".

It might. Hustler is the pick of a bad lot for Man. clubs but IF you hustle you might come out OK and even do very well.

As for the hotel, go on cheaptickets.com or similar and shop hotels. Weekday stays are generally cheaper than weekends. In Mid-town, the further you are from Central Park or Times Square, the cheaper it is. Tere are also a couple nice hotels on the UWS and a few downtown where you can get a decent bang for your buck- like "OnTheAvenue"- Amsterdam Ave. in the 70's. Good luck.

yeah julie. its like i got the job because of how i looked i guess and that i was dancing at Scores at the time. so if you come in and have the right look and say you've danced at a somewhat bigger club in a major city, you get hired. but some girls come in openly saying they've never danced before. there's no chance of getting hired then.

Ha-ha, that's right-it's Ivana, who's Ukranian and doesn't like to be compared to Russians.
She was a dancer in VIP about five years ago and generally has a snobbish, if not shitty attitude about dancers...But she 's more reasonable to work with than April, who's a redhead housemom in PEC...

Hi ladies,

Pretty much what was described in the OP was spot on, but for those of you that are wondering this is what's needed at the audition:

Photo ID and a copy of your SS card. Bring a gown/short dress, a matching thong, and high heels. Platforms are okay. Hustler is okay with tats and piercings. The housemoms are the ones who audition you and basically the audition consists of walking back and forth in just your thong and then doing it again with your gown on. If you have read through this thread like I have, then yes if you are hired management will tell you that the hosts won't give a shit what you do in those rooms and to use that at your own discretion. They will also tell you that if a customer who comes in asking too many questions about who does what in the club, to go get the bouncer to get the guy out of there. You can probably take a guess why.

They are very picky about weight and appearance here and will probably comment on your weight if you work here, even if you're thin enough. They do that to most of the girls from my understanding. They have a main pole which spins and a couple of satellite stages upstairs. Like most of the clubs in the city, you have to hustle rooms to make money here. They have different kinds, the VIPs and booths. The OP gives a better break down of this.

I can't really tell you guys what days are good and what days are not, it can be really hit or miss which seems to be the case. Like a couple of bad days and a really good day. If you try it out my suggestion is to feel out different days to see which ones you like.

With that said, I have to warn you guys that this is a dirty club and extras are common here. I have seen extras going on with my own eyes and after talking with some of the floor guys, I've been told that if you do a room with a guy and he wants to do something you are not comfortable with, you can leave the room. But they will instead switch you with one of their "special girls".

I can't guarantee you guys will make money if you work here, especially since summer time is coming, my recommendation would be to give it a shot. Maybe its a good fit or it might not be a good fit.
