Holy fuck so true!!! how gross is that shit?! Totally bums me out because I love their salads..
I thought it was just coincidence, but now that I think of it...yeah there is always a ton of water in the bottom of their salads! Gross!! I love the southwest taco salad, which is basically a salad with chili on it. Maybe it's not so special after all, but man they are good.
I hate McDonald's. I couldn't even tell you how many years it's been since I ate there. Well...I did have one of their yogurt thingys sometime last year but that doesn't really count. Once in a drunken while, McNuggets dipped in BBQ sauce is pretty good. But those aren't really made of...food. I think most of the menu is simply flavored sawdust in the shape of food.

Dude that mention of in-n'-out is making me swell with pride for California. :D
Fresh, hot, delicious food at lower prices than the other fast food chains.
They pay their employees over the minimum wage and give them health benefits and paid vacations.
Their restaurants are clean and their service is fast and friendly.
:heartbeat
I know where I gotta eat today!!
I got a fucking cheeseburger (which I can't eat)

Oh, for fuck's sake. Ten million dollars? If the guy kept going on and on and on about cheese, the employees probably just heard "cheese" 90,000 times and put cheese on it. They don't hire the most intelligent, alert people there. This guy probably confused them.
And if you are THAT damn allergic to something, you check before you eat it. I'm not allergic to cheese; in fact, I love cheese. I just don't mix it with meat because I'm Jewish. And EVERY time I order a hamburger or any meat dish that is likely to have cheese on it, I check before I take a bite. It takes two seconds to lift up the bun and peek for cheese. ::)

Yeah, I never order fast food now. The environment there depresses me.
I just spend the money on sushi or grab a chocolate bar if I want to eat something that's total crap.

I think that dealing with everyone's demands for different food all day fries your short-term memory. Either that, or it's the FUMES...
I don't eat in fast-food joints, but I notice the same problem in ice-cream parlours (which argues against the fumes being the problem). Basically, I like to get something like "two scoops, chocolate and pistachio, chocolate on the bottom, on a sugar cone"... that instruction will me messed up by most ice cream parlour employees left to their own devices, unsupervised. Either it's too complex, requires in-brain processing to translate to action, or requires too much short-term memory usage after a long day. I generally vote for the last choice: I think that ANY of us would probably have the same problem.
So, I order the ice cream like this:
"On a sugar cone, please put..."
I wait for the sugar cone to be in the hand.
"A first scoop of chocolate..."
I wait for the scoop to be almost fully placed.
"And a second scoop of pistachio."
I wait for the second scoop to be placed.
"Thank you."
That works pretty much every time.
I consider it a general truism that if you want something done your way, you have to do the thinking.

I don't know what fast food chains are in Australia but here the ones I like here are Wendy's, Bonjangle's and once in a blue moon McDonald's. Wendy's screws my order up constantly so I have pretty much stopped going there. I love unsweet ice tea and I always check to make sure it's unsweet before I proceed out of the parking lot just to make sure.

hmmmm... fuck with those retards. order and hamburger minus the patty then ask for a substitute of frenchfries.... and then pay in all change. small change.
Hehe, when I was in high school we use to go to various drive throughs and order a cup of water with a side of napkins. Once this silly girl egged the the drive through voice box, lol.

A few years back the McDonalds nearst my house installed a couple of these.
http://www.infoamerica.com/news_popup_02.html
I loved the thing because you could see pictures of what you were ordering, and even pay at the terminal if you had a debit card. That, and you didn't have to have some inhalant sniffing douchebag take your order or wait in line behind other douchebags.
About nine months or so later, they took the automated kiosks out. I guess it was intimidating the old farts who invade the place in the morning to have their "senior coffee".
Its just as well. I can't stand their food anymore. :yuck:

You are actually on to something there. If the person serving you is younger than 22 or so, the chances that his/her ability to multi task has not fully developed. Seriously. That is the same reason why young drivers wreck more often, not because of inexperience but because they can only pay attention to one task at a time. If that one task is tuning the radio or having a conversation, then the other tasks are ignored.
Result? Wrong orders at the drive up and higher car insurance for the under 25 set.:)

Too many good hole in the wall taquerias in Cali to be eatin mexican at a chain. And taco trucks. I love me some taco truck food!
Haha yea, no Jack-In-The-Box on the east coast, but I'm aware that it's famous for E. Coli and 80's font...
Yep, in the west, why is there soooo many Taco Bells? There is seriously one that I know of in my area in Jersey and it's still 15 minutes away on mad highways...
The mystery of sooo many Taco Bell in the west is the mystery of why there are sooo many Olive Gardens in Jersey...???...there are too many good hole-in-the-wall trattorias...altho I must say I love Olive Garden like, a lot.:D
I have a problem with getting uncooked fries. Everytime I've gone to Wendy's in the past 5 years (read three in three different states) I have gotten an uncooked fry. It has got to be the most vile thing in the world - a cold, oil soaked, salty raw potato. Ick!
Anyone else get this? I've just about given up on them as a result.
LOLOL YES! Soooo nasty!!!!

I will thank my father one day for teaching me to park just outside the drive thru before going off (and to wherever I am going) and CHECK the order. He did this all the time in re drive thru Hungry Jacks (my family refused to eat at McDonalds).
I actually really dispise drive thru service. I try to avoid it. Best to park, go inside, get the order, check the order and leave for me............. unless it really is easier to go thru the drive thru.
None the less, take away sushi, something from the service station, something from the supermarket or along those lines is my preferred take away these days.
Really try to avoid drive thru service.

It sounds so "duh" but is sooo underrated...walking in instead of driving thru (when you can make it during inside business hours, lol)....I actually counted 9, 9!!! cars in a Starbucks drive thru, and when I went in expected there to be at LEAST 2 or 3 in front of me...omg there was no one! I wonder if there's been any studies about improved accuracy with eye contact and shit. Not defending them but...the sound quality coming out of those speakers sometimes?? Maybe it's worse for them sometimes, just a thought. We're kinda far away shouting out of that car...

Honestly it's because they have a very large trash can sized rubber bin that they store their salad lettuce in, and when they chop it they rinse they lettuce real good and dump it in the bin without draining it. So water accumulates there, they add some water to keep it "fresh" and then take it out of the bin and put it into bowls.

This whole thread has me soooooo craving a Big Mac. I love my burger with special sauce! Of course, my favorite burger of all time was the Arch Deluxe. Oh man, do I miss that burger...
BTW, if you really like the "Special Sauce", here's a secret so you can make your own:
The sauce is actually Thousand Island Dressing.

haha, that mcdonalds rap was sweet!
one time my best friend JB and i went through the mcd's drive through (totally stoned off our asses) and we're ordering, as we pull through towards the window after ordering, during our ten minute wait, we see this guy wallking back and forth across the street at the interesection next to us... pretty soon, we notice that this guy isn't just walking back and forth... he's running out in front of cars! we finally get to the window, and the mcdonalds people have been sitting there watching him dive in front of cars, which is why its taking so long to get food! we finally get our food and drive away when it dawns on us to call the police.
we call 911, and the dispatch guy doesnt believe us! and says that no one else has called about it.
interesting things to note: the mcdonalds people didnt call the police about it, and were watching him try to kill himself. also, he was doing this AT AN INTERESECTION! so people were either stopping or just starting to go again, they wouldn't have the momentum to kill him or even injure him as they were stopping or already stopped to begin with!
the dispatch guy probably didnt belive us though because we were laughing so hard about it...
sorry for the derail...
and here in ta town, most of our fast food places get the order right, i've noticed. they have the screens that you can check to make sure they punch it in right, and i usually check the bag before i pull away from the window. it only takes 2 seconds to do, and they can kiss my ass if i'm taking too long to leave their drive thru.
only thing i have to complain about is arby's drive thru. they have the spicy three pepper sauce in the lobby, but if i ask for them to get me some in a cup when i'm in the drive thru, sometimes they'll get it for me, but a lot of times they tell me i have to go in and get it myself. seriously, how FUCKING HARD is it to grab a sauce container press the dispenser down a few times and hand me some goddamned sauce? especially when they're not busy and not doing jack anyway. that pisses me off. if i wanted to go in to get it, i wouldn't have gone through the drive thru, would i?
i've actually called the store back after i've left and bitched at the manager for it, especially when his employees are sitting there doing nothing, and it takes 10 minutes to get 1 sandwich and a order of curly fries and i'm the only customer for the entire store.

Plus I was trying to stay away from eating chocolate or other crap 'easy' food whilst 'on the road' as such ;)
At the bigger ones ... like the one in Yatala (I'm a fan lol)... I tend to go for Nandos. Yum!
Heads up for everyone ... Yatala Pies doesn't do EFTPOS. So you are SOL if you are using a credit card and have no cash on you ! (As I learnt yesterday and I soooo wanted to eat one of their pies.. a vegie one!)

Well, everyone is welcome to come to my Mickey D's. 24 hour drive through, English speaking adults and uncomfortably polite.
My boy has never had a problem with his order (granted, they don't put mayo on burgers here) and I rarely have it...like maybe once a year.
Please, please, please tell us-where is this Mcd's? The idea of a polite and accurate McDonalds in Nj is mindboggling. I must visit and investigate their fries, er service skills.
I've pretty much given up on the fast food around here, except Boston Market, if that counts.

Yeah. Most fast food places are not so great at deviations from the menu.
Like if a burger comes with lettuce, pickles, tomato and mayo, that's what their brain tells them to put on it, even if the ticket says to leave something off.
I always check my order before I leave.

When I treat myself to Taco Hell..I always get Nachos supreme with no beef. (I dont eat red meat). I cant tell you how many times I"ve gotten nachos supreme with ONLY beef. Now I not only check..I say no BEEF..No COW..no MOOOOOOO to be sure they understand me!
Last time me and hubby went to McD's we got chicken nuggets. We asked for a BBQ and a sweet and sour sauce as usual and were informed that they can now only give one sauce per order..more they have to charge for.
A manager was shot over this in Miami. I'm not kidding.

I don't eat McDonalds and stuff like that, but I am fond of deli sandwiches. Except for one thing. "Extra pickles" does NOT mean "toss one or two more little wilted pickle slivers on the sandwich." It means "give me an amount of pickles that would disgust most normal people." Once I explained it as "I'd like a pickle sandwich please...with just a *little* bit of lettuce, cheese and onions." :P
Oh and mayonnaise tastes like rotten oily mucus. There's nothing worse than taking a bite of a sandwich and finding out that its covered in gross clumpy greasy icky mayonnaise. ew ew ew.

This is one of the reasons why I'm done with fast food... Going into the actual restaurant doesn't help either, still gets all jacked up - just to your face. Also, as an added bonus of annoyance the customers can be dumb as shit. Seriously, if you've been standing in line staring at the menu board for 10 minutes and it's McDonald's - not a whole lot different from the on at the other end of the block, how the hell can you have no idea what you want to order???!!!
