I knoooooowwww... and I'm willing to put up with that fact for this dude. HALP!
That will never work. Unless you are willing to have the other two weeks that the kid isn't around.
I love my stepson, and I love him more and more the older he gets. I'm not one of those women that goes all gooey around babies. I don't find kids interesting until they are potty trained and talking.
But if you are trying to develop a relationship with a man whose child holds no interest to you, it isn't like his sibling or something that he could just see twice a year away from his spouse/partner. This is his responsibility and his job until the child moves away on his own (the latest predictions are closer to 30 for kids today to be moving out. I know more than a few people that just keep living with their parents.).
At 5 he is going to be closer to his mother. The closer to puberty he gets, he is going to want more attention from his dad.
If you can't stand kids, this is going to be a painful relationship for you in so many ways.

I haven't met the child, so I'm not sure if the child holds any interest to me at all. I was kindof making a joke in the beginning since aussiepunk said 'But you hate kids, run!'.... she and everyone else seems to actually think I'd be good around them. *hahaha*
I'm pretty much you, second paragraph.

It's got a lot of inside jokes - and fake bloody jam fingers. Join the fun!

Lysondra, I'm pretty sure you'll be cool with what I'm saying here - correct me if wrong :)

Most of this isn't relevant. The two of us live in different cities, and we're pretty much "hooking up" at this stage.

My son is closer to me at this point... since he is such a unique individual, I'm not speculating on the future.

There are no expectations as to what might come of this visit. The timing is such that Lysondra gets to briefly meet the little guy; he will only be around for one day.
Then the rest of the fortnight will be quite different ;D

Hahahaha. I still want to make sure kidlet at least gets to know I'm not a bad guy for the day I am around. :)

This thread is now embarrassing me for some reason. :x I guess it was made into a bigger deal than I intended.
I'm just gonna buy a dinosaur and leave it at that.
Sorry everyone!

Sometimes I feel weird after starting threads too...like, "wait...I don't want the advice after all!" Or something.
