The "let me finish my drink first" time waster is a classic. When I heard that my response could border on a Pavlovian leaving with a quickness. Fortunately, not every guy who says that is out to hustle the dancer. But sometimes the girl doesn't know and doesn't want to be pissed off for half the night because she didn't trust her instinct to leave this time waster.

regulars come and go.
if you have a reg who's spending the big bucks, you're going to nurse that until he loses interest and moves on.
if you like this dancer, keep showing up. her reg isn't always going to be there, and then you can get the attention you want. eventually you might become her preferred reg. don't give up, its not that she doesn't want your attentions, its just that she doesn't want to lose her more established customers

Hey, I waited a long time for the waitress to notice me and bring me that first drink. It just got there, it's cold, and the ice hasn't melted and diluted it. I don't want to leave it on the table, and I don't want to take it with me to the LD room/corner/alcove. I really would like to drink it before I have my first dance. After my first dance, I'll probably be having several more, and I won't want to interrupt them with a drink, so I'd really like to drink it first.
I don't mind if you don't want to wait (I'll offer to buy you a drink if you do.), but I really would like you to come back. About the time I finish that drink and start to suck on the ice.

We hear BS from a lot of guys. I've had guys bug the shit out of me and spend $20 on ONE topless dance. It sucks, but it's our job and we're not going to risk pissing of a steady who spends thousands a month for someone we don't know who might spend $20. If we talk to you for 15 minutes and you buy us a drink and there's no mention of dancing or we do 1 or 2 and that's it, we must move on.
If you like her that much and it's hard for you to watch her dance for or talk to others, buy her out for the night...
We hyear all kinds of excuses all night. If you're serious, a drink isn't going to stop you from spending.

...I dare not risk losing CustyA. He's been a consistant flow of money for me, so I dare not risk making him feel to lonley while I'm up in your face...
That's my bottom line. I love meeting new guys and having a variety of customers, but really, meeting new guys doesn't always pay my bills. Trusting the tried and true does.
