I'm not and never have said that girls with more natural bodies don't get hired. I dunno how many times I gotta say that. I'm saying it's harder. It's rarer. It's the exception. And you get so much BS from people after you do that it's rarely worth it.
i just feel like that's some people's experience. it certainly isnt mine. i dont feel any pressure or bs when it comes to my body. and i DONT have a perfect body. i have a flat ass that i hate and i'd like to lose 10 pounds. but i have never felt like thats been a problem.

Cherry Sin, my responses were mostly to Optimist. In no way was I trying to make anyone feel bad.
But you know what? I do have the confidence and I do feel great about myself. I have ZERO weight issues. Miss Body 2007? Abso-fucking-lutely. If I didn't feel that way about myself I couldn't step the first foot into ANY strip club and feel good about working there. That's just how I am. It has nothing to do with anyone else.
But yeah, it does piss me off when people who haven't even seen me are telling me where I can and can't get hired, especially in a thread where it's an off-topic comment to make.

The thing is you DONT have to be stick skinny to be in PORN either. I'm not. Mary Carey is not. A lot of girls are not. So I suppose I am breaking the porn myth...?
I think that's an excellent point, Cameron.
I have to say that I don't think Naomi Wolf has spent an awful lot of time perusing porn sites, or else she'd know that.
Especially now, especially on the internet, you can find sexualized images of just about ANYBODY!!! Teenagers, grandmothers, women of every ethnic background, bald women, hairy women, anorexic women, obese women, flat-chested women, women with giant MMM bolt-ons, goth chicks, barbie chicks, girls-next-door and fabulously "exotic"-looking women, dominant women, submissive women....And everything in between. And I'm sure there are more freaky things out there if you seek them out: midgets, amputees, etc.
Heck, there's even a huge porn category under the keyword "wives." Go figure!
So! I don't think that porn is causing everyone to settle on one female body image as ideal, or one mode of female behavior that is considered "sexy." I just don't. There's too much variety in porn for that to be the case.
And I agree with what britt said about how she feels more comfortable with her body since she started stripping. I had the exact same experience. I think it's because we see so many REAL WOMEN naked, flaws and all. And so many of them are so beautiful and sexy despite these flaws. And I'm betting that guys see the beauty and the sexiness more than the flaws, too--in strippers, in porn chicks, and in their wives and girlfriends.

I agree with you Nicolina, but I think Naomi Watts was specifically concerned with younger women. We've been around, seen it all, but the younger generation has basically had sex ed in front of their computers. They probably haven't seen that many naked women, let alone naked genitals. It's the more innocent girls that I worry about.

Oh, btw, I didn't get hired for the 9pm SR shift in Vegas, and I weighed 112 when I worked there. But they hired me at Club Paradise immediately and with enthusiasm. That place is also known for strict hiring standards. And I had pretty close to a Barbie look back then.
Point is, QUIT bitching about the SR 9pm shift. There are PLENTY of other nice clubs that will hire diverse girls. Again, I actually HAD the look they want at the Rhino, and they still didn't let me in. They have so many girls, they can do what they want. If my buns were made of steel and I had a large BA, perhaps then they would have let me. Its just that one particular club...
As far as Naomi Wolfe's article. I am with Jenny and Nic. For the few men who do only idealize the "porn star" type of sex and are holding out for that girl, there are far more men who actually want contact and intimacy.
Those guys holding out for the "porn star" are the ones who sit at the SC when a feature is there, sitting with a bouqet of flowers. When house girls try to hustle him, he turns his nose at them because they aren't good enough. Then he pays a shitload of money for dances with the porn star and harrasses her for sex/relationship, etc....
These are sad, lonely people, and not the norm. ALL of us need to learn how to get the most of out sex, and porn doesn't teach that to a man or a woman. Fortunately we are in an age where we can find that information on the internet as easily as we can find triple penetration amputee clown suit porn.

It's the exception, rather than the rule - and you were telling us earlier how you were feeling with your weight issues and the things people in industry were saying to you.
Oh I'm not by any means saying that people havent been douchebags to me from time to time about being a "bigger" girl. But its never stopped me from getting hired.
FWIW, I think you're lovely, and don't need to lose a pound.
And thank you...thats very sweet...
Heck, there's even a huge porn category under the keyword "wives." Go figure!
LOL...thats basically all the porn I do.. MILF porn.

I think porn is less to blame for the female body image issues than being human has to do with it.
Women have always tried to be more beautiful. There was a time women would put arsenic on their faces to be more "beautiful". Look at the body modification of the sub Saharian cultures.
The latest trend to get plastic surgery and fake tans is only new in that it is the latest modern incarnation of the female beauty ideal.
But it was an awesome article nonetheless.
