In other words, I missed most of Romo's screwups. Those last few minutes got my heart pumping, though! Whew! Bring on the Patriots, baby!i saw all of his screw-ups and collasped in an apoplectic fit. i bet big on that game and fu#*king Romo screwed me good on the spread. WTF! it should have been a blowout. 5 INT? 76 total rushing yds? my grandmother can get a hundred yds against the dreadful Bills. despite Dallas being 5-0, this has all the look of a blowout. i'm taking the Pats.

I'm glad the Pats won today.

If Tom Brady keeps up his pace, I believe I will have to add another Pro Bowl jersey to my collection.

I think it's safe to say that Adrian Peterson is the real deal (361 total yards, 3 TD's).

Ed, I think A&M will be guaranteed a W in Lincoln on Saturday when they play a once mighty program that can't possibly get any lower at the moment. I can see my Huskers going 0-5 the rest of the season.

I'd thought I'd better brag before Saturday when the big Trojan horse rolls into Lincoln and reality sets in.

And the big Cowboy horse (as in Oklahoma State) as well...

Oh boy, did reality ever set in, and I'm not shocked at all that the axe fell on our AD this quickly.

Heh, I doubt it; there's no motivation for Coach Fran for the rest of the season. I don't even think that game is going to be televised down here...at least I didn't see it on the local listings for tomorrow. Probably a good thing...they're might be better games to watch...you know, like Texas-Baylor. ::)

Cool, guess I was wrong. Triple option, though? I mean, seriously, what the hell?

And Kansas continues to roll. Awesome...well, except for next week.

RH...it's just one of the weirdest college football seasons ever. I forsee another Ohio St-Whoever wins the SEC Championship BCS Championship game with Ohio St. getting their asses handed to them...again.

Parity in college football? Yuck. Bring me a playoff!

Meanwhile NE is up 42-7 at half. They are freakin scary good. I'll be in Vegas for my football weekend Nov 3-5. NE vs Indy. I will happily accept any and all "locks" for that weekend and will put together a SCJ parlay.

How about those Sun Devils, they continue to roll, next weeks game against Oregon is huge. If they can knock off both Oregon and USC they will be playing in the BCS Championship game (I guess I shouldn't overlook UCLA and Arizona but well, they are UCLA and Arizona). Go Devils!

well, they were due. Nebraska have been beating Kansas ass for years. still, 48 first half points. who do they think they are? the Patriots?

speaking of the Patriots, did anyone put money down on the apocalyptic battle of Good (the Colts) vs Evil (The Sith Lord Prince of Darkness in a hoodie), otherwise known as Super Bowl XLI 1/2 (41 1/2)? i was ambivalent about where to put my money all week, but i finally went with the Pats. if there's one thing Belicheat knows how to do besides running up the score. it's covering the spread and giving the NFL and Goodell the middle finger.

You know, I'm really starting to hate the Pats. F*@king bastards pulled it out again.
:toldoff:

See ya Bill Callahan!!
I was waivering on Callahan when the AD got axed, but I'm in agreement now, that things are past the point of no return. I think the folks in Huskerland have seen enough of the team giving up scores more suited to basketball games. They've already set a record for most points given up in a season. Mind you, they still have two games left.

Speaking of b-ball, the nationally ranked KU basketball team (which is almost an afterthought in Lawrence this year) played an "exhibition" game Thursday night against a small in-state school and "only" won by 35 (opposed to the FB team's 37). God, what a bunch of underachievers.

Can someone help me understand why US pro athletes have a greater affinity to their alma mater than their home town? I've never understood why there is such emphasis placed on where an athlete played his college ball. For example, during player intros, a player is introduced as being from whatever college instead of his home town.

Oh, man, don't get me started on college basketball. I'm extremely excited about the upcoming season. Kansas comes down to both UT and A&M this year. Also, Houston hosts the South Regional in the NCAA Tournament (hoping to prove to the NCAA that they definitely deserve hosting the Final Four in 2011) and San Antonio hosts the Final Four. It's going to be a very good year. :D

And I'm with you...damn Pats! Cowboys won big though...gives me confidence for them to win on the road in New York next week...and then the following week I'll be at the Redskins-Cowboys game.

I think it has a lot to do with the fact that people who watch pro football also watch college football and its simply easier to link a player to where they played in college than where they grew up.

For instance, people nationally know about the Michigan and Tennessee football programs, but very few know about Junípero Serra High School (Tom Brady) in California or Isidore Newman High School (Peyton Manning) in Louisiana.

Finally managed to cash a ticket on my annual football weekend in Vegas. $50 4 teamer- under in the NE/Ind game, Green Bay +2.5, under Oak/Hou, over Sea/Cle. Lost 2 other tickets by putting my team-the Redskins- on both, laying 3.5 in what turned out to be a 3 pt OT win. :(

Did you see Addai's 73-yard run? Ridiculous.

The 140+ yards in penalties were dreadful. Even though we have Tom Brady and his coolness under fire, I wouldn't want a repeat of this stat in a playoff game. That amount of yardage was also a team record, btw. Not very healthy against our arch-rivals.

The running game is still not where I would prefer it to be, but that's just me.

I'm glad we won. I'll take the win, but we could have done a few things differently and/or better. Hopefully we can tune things up and get ready for the next game in two weeks.

Interesting comments from Don Shula about the Pats:

"The Spygate thing has diminished what they've accomplished," Shula said in an interview with the New York Daily News. "You would hate to have that attached to your accomplishments. They've got it."

Belichick was fined $500,000 and the Patriots were fined $250,000 and lost a first-round draft pick for videotaping the Jets' opposing sideline during the teams' season-opening game.

"That tells you the seriousness or significance of what they found," Shula said, according to the Daily News. "I guess you got the same thing as putting an asterisk by Barry Bonds' home run record."

"That tells you the seriousness or significance of what they found," Shula said, according to the Daily News. "I guess you got the same thing as putting an asterisk by Barry Bonds' home run record."
* "You guys put forth the myth that we are pathetic losers down here clicking champagne glasses and clinging desperately to a record set 35 years ago," former Dolphins tight end Jim Mandich told the Daily News.

But hey, that pretty much explains old Don Shula's comment.

* Mark Mangino is the Rick Majerus of football.

* When you think about it, football is a poorly designed game.

* I'd watch the reality series on making the Dallas Cowboy cheerleadering squad if Shot was in it. Otherwise it sucks TX style.

Shula is sore as fuck. The Pats haven't even made it through the entire season without losing yet, so at the very least, such talk is premature. Shooting his mouth off now makes him look really, really bad.

i ran into a buzzsaw last week end and got my head handed to me. i was popping rolaids like jelly beans by the time the NE game came on.

NE vs IN: now is a fine time not to cover. will someone buy Belichick some new surveillance cameras?

GB vs KC: oh great, KC gets beat (at home) by a AARP member.

SD vs MIN: almost 300 effing yds on SD? isn't there a ban on bionic parts? the NFL really needs to test that Peterson guy.

The Pats haven't even made it through the entire season without losing yet, so at the very least, such talk is premature.outside of PITT, i can't see another team having a chance to beat them. so, unless Belichick rest his guys at the end of the season or some team coming out of nowhere. i think it's a done deal.

Holy crap! Kansas better not fudge up the rest of the season.

Actually, since #2 went down and 3, 4, and 5 are all from the Big 12...does this mean that we're now damn near guaranteed to have a team from the Big 12 in the National Championship no matter how these next 3 weekends shake out?

I'm curious what would happen if LSU falls and both KU and OU run the rest of their tables (assuming OU can get past the Bedlam game, as a devout Sooner fan, that game scares me every year) to the Big 12 championship game... then have #2 OU beat #1 KU in a very close game. I wonder how far KU would fall. Past #2? Or could they possibly just flip flop and play a rematch?

I,m not a Pats fan, but I have eyes. If any team epitomizes a dominant team, this is it. 10 games into season, avg. victory margin 25 points!! Other "good" teams victory margins, maybe 10-11 pts. Can any team beat them?? We'll see, but I recall '68 Baltimore Colts with 13-1 regular season record being beaten in SB3 (1969) by NY Jets, and "Joe Willies" "guarantee". We'll see...
