i WISH i could work part time!!! my club is a bikini bar w/no lapdances or VIPs...so all of our money comes from the stage. i've only been dancing for about a month and a half...and from what i hear, its a slow season where i live...not just my club...but others in the area. so usually i work 5 days a week, but this week im doing 8 shifts...i did a double on sunday and a double on tuesday. today is my only day off. so im laying in bed waiting for my pizza to be delivered in about 30 minutes...yay for my one lazy day! i envy all you 3 day a week girls...grrrr :-\

When stripping was my only source of income I worked 5-6 nights a week. When it became supplementary I worked maybe 2-4 nights a month. The awesome thing about it being my "second" job was the freedom to just dance because I loved it...I've always been a stage performer rather than a hustler, and I didn't have to worry about making the rent hustling because the rent was already paid by job number one. I could just focus on the performance, and really enjoy myself.

^^^ Did you notice your income go up when you worked less and did it for fun and extra cash? I think sometimes the more you work the less you make and when you NEED the money its harder to make it. Go figure...

I work 2-4 days a week depending on my courseload per semester. The only reason it's not consistently 5 days a week is school. Right now (current sem.) I'm doing 4 days and it feels soooo much better than 2..... even with classes keeping me busy I ache to work and feel "working-ly" productive. If money isn't going into savings and sitting in checking instead I feel useless.

I love love LOVE being a part time stripper.
I can't even list all the reasons...I'm not gonna...but I loves it, and it's so the best for me. When i'm not working, I have the most amazingly flexible life, but I still have the income of a full-time regular worker.
Awesome.

AudreyLeigh~ I did in fact notice a dramatic increase in my ability to make money when I worked just for fun...there was no pressure. It was strange because it even seemed like my hustle was better because I wasn't really worried about getting a dance or not...dances were just icing on the cake. Furthermore, the guys approached me a lot more, stating their reason for doing so was because I seemed to be having such a great time...they wanted to spend time (and money) witht the "fun" girl. If only I had been able to figure out how to tap into that when I was a full-timer...le sigh.

Its hard. Ya cant. I worked one Sat in Reno for the hell of it, I just wanted to go to Reno and gamble and ended up in the club (oops... howd my stripper shit end up there?!) And made more that night than Ive EVER made, ever.
But just the week before when I was HURTING for money I worked 3 nights that didnt even come close to equaling that one night. Go figure. I think men can smell it on us...

I agree..its like we give off a desperate vibe when we actually need the money thats a customer-repeller!
I always make the most when I tell myself I'm just going to party and have fun and not worry about it. Of course..i actually have to BELIEVE that, which is harder.

Im going to Reno tonite. I need the money but Im not in the mindset of NEEDING it... Im excited to go because its Street Vibrations (a huge motorcycle rally) so I should do pretty well. Well, at least last year I did good.

Wait... is Reno good money or are you just talking about the state of mind you can be in?

I'm a very private and asocial person, and a few shifts a week is all I can handle. Any more and I feel terribly put-upon and stressed out and resentful for having to be social.
I could handle more of the dancing part but the social part of it is exhausting to me.
This is exactly why I'm only a part-timer too (well, one of the main reasons anyway). Only difference is you've worded it much more rationally than what I could've done.
Other reasons: F/T college timetable and P/T work in running the family business.
