Miss Marina, don't be too hard on yourself. Everyone is bad sometimes and has set backs. I've used food (especially sweets) to comfort me for a long time and make me feel better. It's something that alot of women do. I'm reading a really good book right now called Body Clutter, Love Your Body and Yourself. The authors share their own experiences with food and how they used to misuse it for comfort. They say that one of the first steps to losing weight is to accept yourself the way you are and love yourself. Then you'll start eating healthier and taking better care of yourself. I highly reccomend it.
(For anyone who's heard of Sink Reflections and the Fly Lady. It's written by her.)

I went to the gym today and it was closed. Oh well.
I neeeed to eat more veggies. I think exercise-wise, i've been pretty good. I just need to tweak what i'm eating a bit...have more salad. It's not easy to eat salad, it's an acquired taste, lol, but I need to do it. It has lots of fiber, keeps me feeling full and blood sugar more stable... plus I hear since it's harder for your body to digest, your body expends more calories just digesting it...so it's almost like a free mini workout!
I'm happy with mostly everything except still the little jiggy on my thighs. I think that doing all this will help more: 1) eating at least 1 salad a day
2) doing some super-heart-pounding 10 mins of sprinting or stair climbing along with a class cardio workout
3) try eating smaller portions. I know i'd sometimes eat waaay too much at once...so then i'd feel sluggish after. I'll just deal with packing smaller snacks... I think it might be a sensible tweak to do because it helps keep metabolism up the entire day, in a smooth line...and that might help keep the fat-burning at its highest.... But I think doing #1 and 2 will proably make the most difference.
Anyone ever try eating salad in the AM just to get it over with, lol? Ooph I sort of can't imagine myself doing it...but I want to try it just once...maybe it'll make me feel like eating more salads the rest of the day too? Who knows..

Today I did 40 min. of cardio. Then my man C came over and we did it for 3 hours. Then I went to work for an 8 hr. shift. So it has been a physically active day.
I ate a soy yogurt, bananas, and strawberries for breakfast, an acai energy bowl for lunch, then I had 3 Go Lean mini bars and a snickers protein bar. Then I ate a mini Payday and a small plate of pasta salad with grilled veggies and 3 bean salad.
Had it not been for the snickers and the Payday bar, it would have been a better day.
My measurements are also the same. I haven't weighted myself lately, but it seems as though I have hit a plateau. Maybe I have to increase my cardio time from 40 min to an hour?
And Miss Marina, don't give up. You don't win by giving up!!!

I've been LAZY. I was 145 even for a couple days and then this morning my weight reported a bit higher. I haven't done any exercise whatsoever for a couple days so serves me right. Gotta do my ab exercises and I'll probably take my dog for a long walk.
Marina don't give up we all go through bad phases. Keep things in perspective. For example I feel like SHIT if I gain a couple pounds but I have to remember I've still made progress because I am still lighter than I was a few months ago.

I went to the gym last night, did the recommended workout I was assigned, and then this morning I was too sore to make my appointment with the trainer. ugh. So it was win/lose. I weighed in at 126.

So I worked out a bit today and did my yoga. I havent been able to do much this week with the funeral and my friend being here and all..there was just too much to do. And I havent been super great with my diet...I was making all her fav foods so she would be motivated to eat..so lots of pasta and stuff.
But it was for a good cause and I'm back on track now. Planning grilled chicken for dinner.
No idea what I weigh because I dont weigh myself anymore..its too much of a trigger, but I dont feel horrible considering that I have slacked off since Monday.

I've been making steady progress. My diet has been much better because I've been cooking at home. I have only done abs today, I'll take a walk and do weights later.
I am getting a little tired of brown rice.

I am getting a little tired of brown rice.
Not sure how you cook it but I found it much tastier with a no salt chicken bouillon cube cooked and mixed in. Low sodium chicken broth does the same for flavor.
For even more flavor try tossing in a bit of pepper to taste, yellow onions and stewed tomatoes. Drain as much juice from the tomatoes as you can then mix in.

What is a good brand of brown rice? I'd rather eat that then white, but I cant find one I like. They all taste like dirt. And dont get as soft either..so yeah..little hard bits of dirt, YUM.
Any suggestions? I'd prefer the minute rice variety 'cause I'm lazy..but real rice if I have to...

Basmati brown rice is the yummiest IMO. I've tried short grain and long grain brown rice and they taste like butt. I use this kind. Although this kind of rice is not soft like sticky white rice but mixed with some chicken broth in place of water is so much better.

Is that the kind you get at Asian restaurants? I alwasy like their brown rice..it;s soft and sticky like white..but I cant ever match it at home

Yea the sticky white rice is pretty much made with a bit of extra water. Or the Calrose brand is pretty good for making sticky white rice.
The stuff I suggested isn't sticky at all but by adding the chicken broth to it makes it taste even better. You can find both at regular food stores or health food stores.

Thanks for the tip TM I wil try that tomorrow.
Cameron I eat basmati rice too. Soak it overnight and all you will have to do is heat it up (or so I've heard, cooking it is part of my meal planning and it doesn't bother me that it takes 30 minutes).

Still doing good! I ate some pretzels last night because my stomach was queasy (they always help), but aside from that I have behaved!
My clothes fit good again like how they did when I took the shots the other day, woot!
Everyone at the club I auditioned at laughed at me when I told them I was so nervous because I weighed more than I used to when I had danced previous... got alot of "you girls are crazy"... lol, so I'm guessing that is a good sign, cause they hired me, yey!

Who's excited?? Roulette is!! i think I'll go for a walk tonight, or hop on the bike again. Maybe do some yoga!!

well, i'm not eating as healthy as i could. but i'm not eating horribly. when i want something i love like doritoes or something, i eat a 100 cal pack. its still 6 grams of fat but way better than if i had a whole big bag in front of me. and i'm eating fruit with every meal, and eating a bunch of small meals which is really hard for me. i'm used to eating twice a day but eating a bunch. im hungry much more often now but thats a good sign because it means my metabolism is speeding up!

I will do more tomorrow!! things are looking up... positive thinking and all that jazz!!

^^ Let us know how that goes. I was interested in Bikram at one time.
I went to the gym...30 min cardio, 30 min ab class, and then 8 hours of work. I'm pooped. Not a bad daiet day either.
Even though I've been good, I'm still too chicken to step on the scale. I'll do it Mon. As long as it doesn't go above 127, I'll be happy.

banana for breakfast and ramen noodles for lunch... high in sodium i think - but I'm going to make up for it with din-din. I'm only going to eat veggies!! yummeh fresh veggies!! woo hoo.. I think I might go back to being vegan, with a loose allowance for non vegan foods (mostly only when I'm at my boyfriends parents house they already go out of their way a lot to accommodate my vegetarian diet.)

My iPod won't work. I HAAAATE working out without music. Boo.
I'm taking Alli. I bought it and stopped taking it after a while because I hated it but I figure I might as well finish the bottle. I don't recommend though. They make it sound like you'll only suffer "treatment effects" if you way overeat but it seems to happen all the freaking time. And the treatment effects? Randomly shooting pizza grease out your ass that smells like old people.
Anyway. I spent a couple days at a slightly higher weight and now I'm back down to 145 again.
