^^You're going to love having a trainer. It takes the guess work out of everything. Plus, you'll feel more responsible to go to the gym having a trainer which does look like you have a problem getting the gym.

Does anyone find that it's easier to go to the gym when you look pretty good? On days that I look thinner and prettier, I want to go to the gym because I feel like I'm so close to my goal. On days when I'm bloated and heavy-looking, I just want to lie around and eat, I guess because I feel like the gym won't make any difference. It's a weird paradox.
Never have I heard anything more true.
When I'm feeling super thin and hot I go to the gym and train like warrior. However today I'm on my period, bloated, with a sore throat and tiny aching headache. So I feel like going to the gym is going to do absolutely nothing. And thats how I rationalise eating potato dauphinoise with brocoli chicken and cheese followed by a little of ben and jerrys half baked. I never really eat potato and ice cream etc - so this is a nice treat. Gym would have done nothing for me today.
So yeah as of a few days time after my period I will weigh in properly and post picture and start doing home pilates dvds my normal workouts but stepped up a notch in the cardio region and also adding a bit of swimming maybe 2wice a week.
At the mo I'm sat here planning out my fitness regime looking at it written on screen doubtedly....but I guess thats what this thread is for - motivation!!!!
Thanks ladies xxx

well last Friday I incorporated some squats into my routine. You know, the kind in the free weight room with the big burly bar across your shoulders? I totally overdid it and my quads were SCREAMING at me all weekend.
All I could think of was, "squat thrusts must be hard, real hard." "But it's worth it to feel a sweet burn, deep in my thighs" ::)
Ok it's Monday and I weighed myself today. Last week 144, today 143. I am very happy since all I have been doing is cutting back on portion size. The dr gave me ok to start back exercising today. I had to stop about 3 weeks ago only after I had started for a week. Can't wait till next monday!

Hmmm. . . I've got to say, the downside of the timing of this is that I'm about to start grad school again, so fresh produce will stretch my budget a lot. On the upside, it's too expensive to park on campus, so I'm biking 6 or more miles a day, plus all the walking. And hey, the athletic center is free! Whoo free swimming pool!

OK so... it's Monday. This morning I weighed in at 146 lbs. And I worked out for an hour.
Picture... oh dear...

My goal is to do cardio for an hour every other day. On the other days I'll do 30 minutes of cardio plus some weight training and stretching. And one day a week I'll take off. I really need to lose fat and tone up to be stripper material. And I want to be able to do the splits again.

i had my first workout with my trainer today so i'm definately in...I need to tone and find my six pack again...My stomach is "flat" but i got brick house thighs! My joke is I have a skinny girl top half and a thick girl bottom half...lol
My Plan: 30 - 60 min of cardio 5x a week(60 min on non trainer days), trainer sessions 2x a week
Support is definately a great thing! I haven't worked out in over 6 months!
Go Team!!
Don't really have a weight goal...just want the definition in my abs back and my thighs to match my upper body.

Getting ready to start on the 1st. Since I'm totally new at this I probably won't be as structured as some of you, but I'm going to take baby steps. At this rate thankfully my monthly bill should be gone by the start too.

I'm in! I've been on prednisone for the last three weeks, so I've got the bloat that goes with that, not to mention a few extra pounds from eating like a madwoman. Ugh.
5'2
118 lbs
2x% body fat (no idea, Tanita gives me a big range of numbers)
Want to be:
18% body fat (for starters)
I actually went to the gym today for the first time in about a month and a half. I'd been going all summer and really enjoying it, and I was pleased to find out that I hadn't really lost any flexibility, and my strength was still pretty up there. Of course, tomorrow I'll probably be sore as hell, but hey. And what's even better, I REALLY proved to myself that I still had upper body strength--I had to move my sleeper sofa out of my apartment so my sister's in-laws could pick it up (I'm getting a new couch tomorrow, and their daughter was taking my old one for college). I moved that sumbitch around two corners, which required pushing it up end-wise TWICE, and out the door all by myself! That couch must weigh 80 lbs!
*flex*
I'm so going to be feeling that in the morning.

What if we paired up with someone else from the site ? Like a workout buddy kind of who could give you support daily. Sorry if someone else suggested that, I was naughty and didn't read the whole thread. When do we officially start ? Oct 1 ?

It's been more than beneficial to me;) As in sexy!! And astrologically CORRECT!
So....seriously, it would be awesome to have a list of 1)who's involved 2)their stats 3)their progress pics.
Anyone? I might be crazy enuf to put it all together, but not sure if there's a way.
(Considering I'm not so busy bc I've been out of work since March and using my weight as an excuse!)

My Monday stats.
I've lost 1.5 lbs but I started my period today and am bloated from it so I'm hoping to have actually lost at least 2 or 3 lbs. No workout today due to cramps, grr.

So before I worked out for the first time last week, I weighed 126. I am 5'7". When I am in shape, I weigh more, so I'm hoping to hit 132. I know that sounds a little weird. My goals are for how I look, not how much I actually weigh.
I only worked out twice last week and I already have lost a little spot of cellulite that was visible on my butt! It just disappeared. Pretty incredible. I ran 1.5 miles the first workout and 2 miles the second.
The major goals for me are
1)Get back my 4 pack abs
2)Have my ass look like it got an ass lift
3)Get toned, stronger arms to do better pole tricks
4)Build up pecs to make boobs perkier
5)Increase running endurance so that I can enter a 5k
I'll have my body fat taken tomorrow at the gym so I can do a before and after on that.

bleh i have been doing so badly! i haven't been able to work out at all because of my knee, and because i've been feeling shitty about not going to the gym i've been eating badly!
today i had a chocolate protein shake for breakfast (11am), and for dinner (4pm) i had steamed vegetables and a grilled chicken breast. i'll probably order a salad at work.

I like TwisterinAZ's idea about pairing up with someone. If there is anyone else out there who can't eat wheat, eggs, milk, and oranges (or if you've just got a lot of shitty food allergies in general) then talk to me and we'll come up with creative food recipes together. Mostly I want to have a vegetable based diet. I don't want to lose weight because then my 34 B's will become 34 A's. I just want to tone up my ass and eat healthy.
Today I did The Firm for 30 minutes. Tonight I'll do some yoga, at least 30 minutes.

Alright, count me in as well. I am already working out, but been totally slacking the last couple of weeks. I've already started eating healthier, no fast food. Hardly any junk food. I eat alot of Kashi, seafood, cottage cheese, veggies and fruit. And I've been not drinking as much. As soon as I cut back on drinking, weight just started dropping off. I don't have alot to lose, maybe 5-10 more lbs. But I want to tone up.
My butt and thighs hate me. And the feeling is mutual, so that's my goal. To make them the best they can be.
When I get my camera fixed, I'll post some pics.
Bah. Not looking forward to working out, but I know it's something that i need to do.
oh i'm 5'2" and about 115 lbs...

I am totally in
5ft 6
body fat percentage : 20.5% not sure what I wanna get that down to as yet. Probably about 17-18%
159lbs - 72 kilos
I want to be around
130lbs - 60 kilos
I'm not sure that is going to happen as I;ve been at the gym like a mad woman and have put on weight - which is more than likley muscle (see my other thread!!)
So while I would like this to be my ideal weight I am going to go by Measurements.
So Current measurements are listed with target measurements in brackets
BUST: 36E .....(34DD/E)
WAIST: 27in......(25)
HIPS: 38in.....(36)
THIGH: Top; 23....(21) Mid thigh: 21....(19)
My problem areas are my hips and thighs. So They are going to be my difficulties and where I need my motivation.
Will post pics when I have my camera

Bleh. I've been off kilter since getting robbed last week, but I'm going to reassert myself in a big way. I'm training a crazy new horse everyday, and it's leaving my ass nice and sore. Nothing like the ass and thighs of a bronco rider, I'll tell ya.

OK, I'm in. The thing is, working out and being athletic has been like brushing teeth to me since I was 17. But there are still goals I want to achieve, so I have been doing some tweeking in my routine. I'm not worried about my weight at all, the most I have weighed in the last five years is 116.
I'm 5'2"
I don't own a scale, but will guess myself at about 106. I wear a size 25 jeans in Rock and Republics and a 24 in Forver 21, so I think I am about right.
Meausrements: Bust: 33
Waist: 23 1/2 to 25 (depending on the time of the month)
Hips: 33
I will post pics.
Goals: I would like a 22 in waist and add an extra inch to my hips, gain more flexability and energy.
I wil try to remember what I did on my work-outs since last Wednesday.
Wednesday: stair step: 30 mins. weight training on lower body and abs. 3 sets of 15 reps, last one pushing to exhaustion. With abs maybe doing about 1,000 reps but with different techniques, including mid air crunches with hand cables.
Thursday: 45 cardio doing severe uphill intervals, then 20 mins. pilates concertrating on abs and butt.
Fri: 10 min. speed walking, 20 min jumprope. Worked: triceps, biceps, chest and shoulders to exhaustion.
Sat. Rest (couldn't move my triceps;-(
Sun. 1 hr. medium cardio and deep stretch.
Mon.: Way Lazy.
That's it for now. Will post pics later.

OK so I went into the gym today and did 40 min. of cardio. I'm heading back late this afternoon for another 45 min of cardio and a 30 min. Power abs class, because I want to tone up my middle.
I took the Power abs class last Friday. It rocked. And I love going into work afterwards. I feel energized and toned & happy. :)

Great idea! Not sure if guys are included but I'll throw my support behind this also.
Currently I'm in OK shape but I want to a) continue and b) work it a little harder, especially cadio.
I'm 6' and weigh 173lbs. I'm lean and somewhat muscular. I feel like I'm at a good weight, I could use a little more muscle but I'd be more impressed with being overall leaner.
My workout routine has been weights 2-3 times per week and cardio 2-3 times per week. The cardio is where I can really improve. I started swimming 6 weeks ago and I can already see a massive improvement. I swim anywhere from 40 to 56 laps in a 25m pool in 30-45 minutes. Some days I'll run or bike. It's kind of cool how my swimming has helped me to run much harder and longer than before.
At the local YMCA there is a triathlon group that trains Monday, Wednesday and Friday at noon. In the past I've been intimidated about swimming alongside them. Yesterday I went for it and I was both humbled and inspired. I thought I was doing pretty well but compared to them I suck. I'm undaunted though and they actually pushed me to swim harder. I'll post my progress as I go along.

Went to the gym today and signed up for a program where they will evaluate my fitness and give me pointers on what exercises to do and what to eat. I'm excited about that, it will definitely keep me motivated.
And I weighed 124 today.

Britt, when you're raving sweets, I totally recommend skinny cow vanilla and caramel cones.
They're regular sized ice cream cones, and the cone has a hunk of chocolate in the bottom. They're really delicious, and only 150 calories. And I prefer frozen treats when I'm dieting, because they take so much longer to eat.
Obviously, you can't binge eat on 'em, but for those times when you just are really craving sweets, they're perfect!

OK. Earlier tonight: 1/2 hr. on the step mill, then upper body machines, 3 sets, only 12 reps (my gym closed within 40 mins, not enough time for 15), worked back to exhaustion and did ab and oblique machines.

Monday I was good...an hour karate class, followed by a 40 minute walk, and long extensive stretch session.
Tuesday, I went for a half hour walk, then went on the elliptical for twenty minutes, followed by weight training (using the pyramid method), ab work, and light stretching.
I've been eating a bit better, more salads and tuna (no mayo), less junk food, so yay!
I've also not had a regular soda in over 2 weeks now, so that should definitely help too.

i have been eating well, even with getting my period. Moderation is not always easy for me, but yesterday i made my bf a brownie bowl and only had three tiny tiny spoonfuls....he ate the rest. It was nice to have a taste and not eat the whole thing...still satisfying. Did my pole workout class lastnight so i am nice and sore today...also did some arm workouts on comcast. I am going to do alot of stretching today....eat well.. and work tonight. Work always gives me a good workout.
The day before yesterday...i had treated myself to a dunkin donuts bagel egg sandwich...then looked up its calorie sodium contents....ew...never again...i can make them healthier at home .
Thats my new thing...make what i can make better at home....treats are ok in moderation....i used to be an all or nothing girl....but im balancing it out better now...the brownie bowl is my proof.

So I did my first session today. My stats were:
Weight:122 (apparently I lost two pounds at work last night)
Body Fat: 15.5%
Waist: 28
Hips: 35
Thigh: 19
Arms: 10 and 10.5 (little arms :)
I'm super excited now that I know all my measurements and I can try to improve them. I worked out extra hard afterwards.

^^^Hmmm, I'm just the opposite. I love cardio and I hate weightlifting (but I do it anyway.) When I walk on my treadmill, I watch my favorite shows and the time passes by quickly.
I'm at 146 now, down 2 pounds from 148 last week. I give plasma twice weekly and they weigh you each time, so I get weighed twice a week whether I want to or not. :P That's with clothes and sneakers on too, so I probably could subtract a couple pounds, but nah, I'll keep going by what the scale at the plasma bank says. I've been really careful about eating properly and exercising, and it looks like it's slowly starting to pay off.

Donating blood....they centrifuge the blood and the red blood cells go back in your body and they keep the plasma.

Ok, I'm soliciting a buddy! I get up and spend four hours working my ass off at the stable, then I get home and crash-ha-hash. I know I need to run and do yoga as well, and diet...to really see some amazing results. Especially yoga, because unless I balance out the riding, I'll re-injure my back. So anyone who wants to share motivation, or just get the whole competitive spirit a-goin'...Cuz I work better that way!
