I need a buddy to. Yek and I buddied up before, and did well with it, I had to bow out of the competition early due to... well, anyway...but I'm ready to start again..
So Yek, wanna buddy up with me again? I really liked our tickers, that helped motivate me a lot when I saw yours getting higher than mine, I needed to catch up....
If Yek don't wanna be my buddy....
Any takers?
I'm 5'7 128-130 lbs, trying to get to 123-125 lbs, so I don't have much to lose, toning up is my goal. Bringing my ass back where it belogs and getting rid of the cellulite starting to show on my ass and tummy. I am also a vegitarian.
Mollymoonz, you're right about the yoga, it can definitely help prevent injuries. Do you go to a gym that has classes? That might make it easier to get done...the yoga and working out. Sometimes I don't like doing yoga...because I know it's not really that bigg of a workout compared to jogging or stairclimbing. However, it gives important stretching and some muscle strength and relaxation that i've found helps me keep my eating on track because I feel more relaxed and at peace.
I'm glad this thread keeps going :) The open "diary" helps me keep accountable to myself
I made a bunch of baked treats a week ago, and had a ton left. While it was nice to bake something, and although I used whole wheat flour instead of white flour...I made waay too much. I would still describe the muffins and cornbread as more "refined" foods... and since they tasted so good, I ate more than I should have...so that gave me sugar rush n plunges. Finally, even though I had a ton left, I tossed the rest out when I noticed my body feeling more "puffy" and just "sugary" than usual. Then I got back to the usual whole oatmeal, cooked barley, kashi grains, stuff like that. And I feel muuuch better!
I did have another slip: indulged in pizza, chinese food, and more junk-o because I was having a really crappy day and felt it was a month since my last junk food feast... That was a mistake. My face looked puffier...I didn't feel as lean. I must've gained a half pound of fat from all that junk. I will try to find other substitutes when i'm having a crappy day, like getting a glass of wine and watching a good movie. I should've done that in the first place :(
I've been getting back to being super consistent at the gym work outs. But still need to work on incorporate runs and stair climber machine more..because those usually really make me SWEAT and heart race the most...so it's the best workout. I don't do as much as I should because it's a bit torturous. Well, I will make sure to have a good magazine I chose myself (instead of some of those super-boring home magazines I find at the gym) to help make the stair climbing not as boring.
New Goal: ALWAYS add on a half hour of stairclimbing/jogging combo every day I work out. Since it raises my heart rate a ton, i'll see results much faster..so I just need to PROMISE to stay committed to getting RESULTS sooner so i'll be happier with my body SOONER. Requires sweat and self-discipline! I just need to find ways to make it feel really enjoyable. Any mindset tips?
I'm glad I keep up with the calcium supplements, tonalin CLA and fish oil caps spread through the day.
Goal: Have a 24 or 25 inch waist (right now it's 26...got a little teeny spot of pudge i'd like to rid of...) When my waist gets slimmer, naturally it'll mean there'll be less fatty tissue on my face..and with my bone structure I look better when i'm leaner...more shadows on my face...the bone structure shows more...it's more flattering (this might be different for everyone..everyone has a different structure shape...that's why some people get face fat injections because they look better with some plumpness in some areas).
Let's keep the good energy, advice, and written contributions going ladies! We can all get the bodies we feel flatters us most with a goal, plan, self-discipline, and proper rewards along the journey!
Also, here's a question:
Do any of you ladies have a REWARD system for yourselves as you reach small milestones along your goal journey?
I sometimes let myself go to a mexican restaurant for lunch, load up on diet coke and their yummy food (but the healthy versions...brown rice instead of white, dressing on the side...but I enjoy all the cheese loaded on...I just keep an estimate of the calories).
Sometimes I buy myself nice underwear to treat myself.
Or, I have a nice cool glass of wine.
Looking in the mirror and checking myself out always is a free, nice reward ;)
Any of you have rewards that you feel helps you when you're loosing weight? (i.e. getting yourself a new magazine, book.....new shoes?). I've read somewhere having a reward system helps you keep going... Maybe it'd be good to start saying "ok, at the end of this week, after good workout habits and eating habits in moderation, I will do something special for my self, which is this ______, as a reward for being self-disciplined by sticking with it and finding ways to get through tough times (stress control?)without self-sabatoging myself (like a big food binge...or saying forget it i'll start next week.

^ Yeah I have a reward system too for when I've eaten healthily and exercised but I try and make it nothing to do with food.
Usually after about 10 days I reward myself with shopping, new shoes or something or a magazine that I want that I've been holding off from getting (coz I'm saving).

My greatest reward was going to the mall and trying on jeans. I insisted I was a 5. My boyfriend made me try on a 3. Oh, no way a 3 will ever fit! I haven't been a 3 since I was 14 years old!
I tried on the 3...and it was loose! I bought 4 pairs of jeans. Of course, none of thoes fit now, I can barely squeeze into my 5's anymore. Creeping my way back to a 7:'(
For smaller rewards...just looking in the nirrior was reward enough for me.
Gosh..I hope I can find that motivation again.

^ There is seriously nothing better than shopping when you are a your goal weight.
I don't even need to buy anything, but I love trying stuff on and everything fits well and looks good.
That is the best motivation.

Need more motivation. I feel fat and thick today. I started out well but ate more than i wanted to by the end of the night. I did not eat high fat/geasy foods...but i am sure it still added up and i did not workout hard today.
I have been lacking work motivation so i really need this. I want to feel slim by Friday for work...and i want some decent tone on my body by tne end of this month for my mini vegas vacation and for my halloween costumes.
Da I like your reward system. We may have similar patterns. I do not deprive myself and still sometimes get into junk food/binge mode and then say "fuk it ill start better tomorrow...ect ect."
aussiebelle
09-26-2007, 10:37 PM
^ Yeah I think I might be like that too.
I find it is so much easier when I've been eating healthy and exercising for a while to just keep it going but I find it so hard to get motivated when stop for a couple of days to get started again, even though I know that the earlier I do it, the easier it will be.
I get that junk food/binge thing too when I'm just like 'wtf, I've already stuffed it up now, what's the point'.

^ I'm trying so hard to do that french thing how french women don't get fat (there is a book on it) because they do everything in moderation.
Even though they eat croissants and pastries everyday they just have a bite to satisfy themselves and don't binge on it.

Does anyone know besides Bebe sport of cute workout wear? If you do post some links please. I want something pink and black.
I found some workout gear that is HOT. This company was suggested to me on the purse forum by someone who I think is a member here.
Some of the outfits I thought were really hot:

I was also recommended Lululemon, but they don't sell online so hopefully they have a store in your area.

I think when I hit my goal I'd like a new purse. And maybe a new workout outfit that LR posted. Those are cute! I gotta tone up my tummy more before I parade around in one of those!
I just LOVE the way I feel after working out, and I find that I want to eat healthier foods too. I dunno, I just feel so happy! My endorphins! Wheeee!
Someone from the club complimented me after my stage set today. He said that my legs looked toned and I thought that was really nice. When I work out, my legs and arms are the first to show it, then my middle catches up. Does this happen to anyone else?
Anyhow, it's nice when you put in the effort and people notice. :) And to just think, we're only on week 2. Woo hoo!

No takers on a buddy for me, so here's my plan:
1200 calories a day broken down as:
3 meals:
300 calories
15 g. protien
25 g. carbs
3g. fat
8g. fiber
3snacks a day:
100 calories
10g. protien
12g. carbs
2.g fat
3.g fiber
Totals:
1200 calories a day
80g. protien
120g. carbs
15g. fat
35g. fiber
1 gallon of water.
limit sodium intake
begin taking tonalin regularly.
*I know it's impossible to stick exactly to that, but thoes are my guidelines to follow loosely. I'll probably end up taking in about 1400 calories a day.
Workout:
Focusing on the abs, legs and ass
3 times per week, with a 1 mile walk each morning.
My biggest challenge: Avoiding pizza. I will try to limit my pizza to once a week, as a reward for eating healthy the rest of the week.
My goal date: 10/30/2007
The reward: Going back to dancing!
I start tomorrow. I will create a blog somewhere to update progress.

If anyone wants to be my buddy, I could use some inspiration! However, I really don't want to discuss calorie counting/dieting-I get a little weird if I start on that, not ED, but E weird.
If anyone is eating healthy (I'm vegitarian and trying ot get actual fruit/veg in) and exercising and wants to buddy up PM me!

Those outfits are cute, but I'd be way too hot running in those pants. Three quarter length at the most, or I get too sweaty. I also need to strap down my boobs with two sports bras, or else they hurt. Big boobs aren't always fun. But I just try to ignore everyone at the gym. I usually wear lululemon and a university top. Cotton and loose-fitting. I am so not sexy gym girl! heh
I need a buddy too!!! Buddy? Buddy? Here buddy buddy buddy....
Can I be your buddy? I've been doing some emotional eating and I'm rather pudgified. Ew, 127.

I will be somebodys buddy.
I get cases of lazy eating alot, especially since i am not working.
I eat because i am tired and lazy. I use my period as an excuse also.
Sooo anyone that is trying to get sexy abs, and drinks lots of water/eat more fruits and veggies can pm me.
Anyone working on moderation and self control more so than other things.
I do not belong to a gym yet though so a buddy that does not do the gym yet would probably be better. Anyone that needs motivation to do home workouts and take their classes would work well because i go to Yoga and pole.

Sorry Kaylinn, I just saw this! Yes, I will buddy with you! How shall we compete?
If anyone in SoCal wants to make regular exercise dates, like hiking in the hills or doing the Santa Monica stairs, let me know. I have a hard time making myself go to the gym on the weekends but I still need to get some exercise.
Current stats:
135 lb. and jiggly
38-29-37
Would like to be:
125 lb. and a lot more TONED
36-24-32 (approximately)
I've been eating well but as of today I'm going vegan for the next three weeks. I would like to lose this last bit of weight in that amount of time and tone up as much as I can!

I hate trying to find workout gear because it's hard to find even a sports bra to fit me, much less an outfit. So I wind up wearing a somewhat-fitting sports bra with a wife beater and gym pants. meh
On the plus side, wife beaters are cheap and look good on me. I buy the 6packs from the men's section ;D

FUCK YEAH!!!!
I got on the scale today. Over the past week, I've lost THREE LBS.!!!

And I'm at 34.5-27.5-33.5.
Yay!

I'm so excited to weigh/measure on monday!!!
it'll be hard not to do it till then :)
da, I just rewarded myself last weekend with a day at the spa. I have been gradually trying to loose some weight and over the last month I have lost 13 lbs by changing my eating habits. My goal is another 8 lbs and I can have another day at the spa.

Oh hi!! I wasn't sure if it was you or not. Thanks, I am loving those outfits. I just feel like I need to get in shape before buying one! Have you ordered from them and do they fit well??
I've never ordered with that brand, but I've always wanted to. We get our stuff through our team and they cuts and styles are very similar. They are VERY flattering and here's the thing- even if you're not in shape to wear it right now, you're going to have to force yourself to anyway.
It's a good way to see how much you're shaping up during workouts.
We would have to wear revealing stuff like that all the time to practice and at first I was SOOOO self-concious like "omg, I jiggle here" etc etc, but then I just worked harder so I didn't look like the fatty during practice.
Get one and then take lots of pics. The first one I sent you on tpf is my fave for you. I can tell you love bright colours, so I just feel like that one is the best for you!

I hate myself sometimes. Still hovering around 135... only had one slip-up in the week, with a piece of Entimen's cake... but that shouldn't have stopped weight loss. I ate macrobiotic and rode my bike to and from work when I worked. Lame.
I have to get in shape in a week's time for my boyfriend's sister's wedding, so I don't feel like an overstuffed sausage in my dresses for the weekend. I'm doing a v8 + vitamins fast. It's worked before... hope it works this time.

me too. I only had a few minutes LITERALLY this morning so I did some ab work and then utilized HIIT on the treadmill for 10 minutes. Like you said, better than nothing. That got me PUMPED though for the rest of the day.

I want a buddy - prefer someone whos is into losing a few pounds and toning up.
I want to lose about 3 lbs around the middle and get my little waist back and tone up everything
I am TRYING to do cardio. Having a tough time getting to the gym (even tho its 20 steps from my front door)
Have kickboxing 2x's a week - this is easy to get to... its sooooo fun.
Cutting out junk food and I have been making myself eat breakfast (1/2 cup eggbeaters and 1 pc ww toast) I feel MUCH better ALL DAY now that Im eating breakfast.
Anywho - any buddy out there ?

Hmmm i feel crazy putting my stats up because i'm small but prefer when I am smaller... I'm 5'4 125pounds. I think around 110 - 115 is the weight goal but i tend to go with how my jeans fit...right now my jeans have a serious choke hold on my thighs. I want to tone up and get definition back in my abs area and my tone these thighs of mine...currently 29inches.
Why was that so hard to do?
Ok this was my first week back working out(been chilling for the last eight months)... I did one strength workout with trainer. and 5 cardio workouts on the spinning bikes they have on the floor. I use the songs on my nano to time the intervals. 3-4 min each. One song at say a 6 out of 10 and then one song at a 8. The trainer usually straps a heart monitor on me so i stay withing my ideal target heart rate. I did 3 30 min sessions, one 45min session and today I did an hour.
I ate breakfast everyday...either egg whites and a slice of multigrain bread w/ green tea. Or oatmeal w raisons and flaxseeds added. I also ate every two to three hours (five meals) and had my last meal by 8...But i also was off from working this week...not snacking at the mom's food set up is gonna be a challenge...suggestions??
I think the alchohol i drink at work is going to be a challenge for me...I used to not drink at work but these days i have two or three in a night...what drinks have the fewest calories? I guess white wine spritzers?
Thaks to whoever put this support together!

I've been lazy. Gonna work out tonight. On the bright side I haven't been very hungry lately so that's good.
As far as rewards go I've set up a system. My initial weight to get below was 150, which got my weight out of an overweight BMI. I got my nose pierced when I got that done.
Then I'm trying to lose I think 5% of my weight at a time? I don't remember and I'm too lazy to figure it out but my next goal is 142. I was going to get some horse show boots but I might change that to a stripper outfit lol.
Then somewhere in there there's a bikini (I've NEVER worn one before haha) and a bellybutton piercing.

I ate a lot of chips and salsa today and am back up to 148. Didn't know one day of bad eating could make me gain 2 pounds. I am actually being really good about working out and I enjoy it, but I have a hard time saying no to my favorite foods. I feel so undisciplined.

My immediate goal is 130... then 120, after that, if I loose more, cool, if not, eh... I know I look good at 115 but at times it takes desperate measures to stay there... my body tends to like to stay at 118 when I eat healthy and exercise (I am 5'5"). As said above... still around 135 (higher or lower depending upon the time of day!)
Bummer!
I know fasting isn't healthy, but I want to not fit squished into my dresses for this next weekend... after this week I'll go back to healthiness!
A piercing is a great reward idea though! I used to have a lot of them, but I took them out a few months ago, maybe for a reward I should get my one I never got that I wanted (vertical hood)!
I haven't been sticking to the stair-climbing :( Though I have been getting in 1 hour of cardio everyday (cardio classes, like spin or kickbox)...and still dread the stair climbing because I don't find it as very fun. I need to just DO it, because I know it'll make the tummy pooch disappear faster.
Ooh, the spas are definitely a good reward. Why are they sooo pricey, though! eeks!
Here's an idea for a naughty reward that might just get me pumped for going to the gym every day:
Use a small vibrator in the shower, lol! I have a small (size of thumb) waterproof one, but it makes too much noise, lol! Don't want the other women to get the hint, lol! And then i'll be blushing when I walk out! I'll have to get a nearly-silent one! My little secret..i'll be sooo eager to hit the showers. Problem is I might be so exhausted from the work out that i'd be difficult to climax, but who knows, I haven't tried it yet!
Why not?! I think it'd be well-deserved, and perhaps I good motivator. Maybe it will then help associating the workouts with a good thing (the vibe), so it'll make it easier for me to find the mental energy to spend some extra time on the machines. What do you ladies think?

I have the opposite problem. I work out almost everyday but still eat like crap! Let's trade!
You should try any type of fitness class, those are great for keeping you motivated, I really wish I had a gym membership again just so I could take the classes. They're fun.

If it makes you feel any better, I fell off the diet wagon this last day. HARD. Think beer, Taco Bell, movie theater popcorn and Denny's (sorry Lola Rose)
I thought we were all officially starting on the first though. Pardon me while I make excuses for my bad behavior.

Deal ! I'm going to hang out at my moms today and she is a vegan so ther's not much junk food in her house. She also lives near awesome hiking trails so both are good things. I don't think the PMS is helping the craving situation either...
It's cool though. Warm up week. I'm ready to get started now.

Yeah, I've been easing into it... So it officially starts tomorrow! As of tomorrow, I'm going vegan (I've been phasing out the dairy), doing 45 minutes of cardio 5 days a week, and doing weights a minimum of 3 days a week (but shooting for 5). It would be awesome if I lost 10 pounds in the next three weeks, but what I really want is five inches off my waist by December 1. By the end of October, I would like to be a LOT more toned with a 26" waist (that's three inches off what I've got now).
I could definitely use a buddy to check in with on a regular basis, if anyone else is looking for one!
