ok now its time to get specfic.... I'm ready and willing..... how bad's the pay? lol where are ya now? most of ur gigs in the great white north? how much does it cost to get a passport? (never had one, didn't need it when I went to Mexico years ago....and my military id worked many years ago lol)
let's talk turkey..... I am a spontaneous kinda guy...always game for a new adventure...
big money has never been the end of all ends.... if I'm fed, housed, and doing what I love with a lil pocket cash for me I'm happy as a pig in shit lol
Re: DJ Looking to Relocate
As I told you before, I will keep my ears open about the clubs down here.
Sounds like fun being a roadie/bodyguard/MC for Cally, though, if she can use that sort of help! Traveling sure beats getting stuck in the same fucking boring club endlessly. And think of the fun you could have debating whether DJs are button pushers, dancers are monotonous booty-clappers, customers are robots, etc. Haha!

Oh I have thought about it seriously, unfortunately Cally has some conditions of employment I can't meet...ie proper vehicle... otherwise... I'd already be on my way
so I'm still available all lol..... sucks Cally and I were talking bout the job last night and my damn internet went down.... haven't heard back from her yet... hope she didn't think I just quit talking to her lol I was pissed sat on the phone on hold for 45 mins..... never did speak to a real person.... it was back up when I got up today
Re: DJ Looking to Relocate
Well, hang in there, I was in the same boat you are in a little over a year ago. I had just gone through a bunch of money paying exorbitant rent in a hotel I had across the street from the club that totally shafted me., my van was not in any kind of condition to be driven anywhere far to look for work, I was stuck in the worst city in the entire USA--the crab-infested crotch of the nation...
And in much, much worse circumstances 2 1/2 years ago! Having to ride a fucking bus to crotch of the nation, no car at all, no friends left in Daytona that were worth a shit, it was the last town on earth I wanted to be in but I had nowhere else to go, just getting out of a disastrous relationship, my parents both were so pissed at me they didn't even want to talk to me--it was fucking terrible!!!.
Re: DJ Looking to Relocate
This isn't my first time starting over.... damnit..... but it sure seems a lot harder....
I guess the fact that my choices have been slimmed down due to the city try to "clean" up.
At this point I'm almost willing to just get myself to a bigger city and stay at the salvation army.... til I can get a job....
don't like the idea of being homeless.... but I gotta get somewhere that there is more opportunity....
Re: DJ Looking to Relocate
Hey. Lemme ask around.
My husband's a dj in Charlotte NC; he's been all over the state and SC also.
If you get desperate, the Pure Platinum/Heartbreaker's chain in SC (Greenville and Columbia) is looking for help, but it's pretty redneck in some of their clubs. My husband went down there a couple weeks ago and they LOVED him, and he only has 16 years exp. You can try for anything in Myrtle but the djs there are very protective of the money they make. Don't know about Charleston; I haven't been there in years.
If I were you, don't work for the Paper Moon guys. They are a pain in the butt -UNLESS you can get into Richmond; great money there! You have to tip out the managers (!!!).
Here in Greensboro there are too many djs per square foot, so even if you're good, it really depends on who you know and not what you know. Besides, the only club worth working for is Christie's and they have that on lockdown.
OH! Now that I think about it, my good friend (boucer) who moved out work at the Phoenix Christie's Cabaret says the dj there sucks balls. There's a Christie's in Phoenix AND in Tempe. Do you want me to call him and ask for more details? LOTS and LOTS of money out there....I know that's quite a move, but I think you'd like it,if you can put up with Cooper. Right now he just put down some stupid mandate about not allowing personal laptops in any of his clubs 'cause some dumbass made off with all the music in one club (guess he was pissed). But that kind of thing never lasts long with him. Bridgette works there too...might be worth some looking into. DO NOT go for anything in Ohio, for obvious reasons. Tennessee pretty much sucks too, unless you really want to put up with all that crap.
Another long shot would be the company my husband works for..Men's Club. One of the bigwigs from Houston just came up here to work, so maybe he would have info if anyone is needed back in Houston or in Dallas. They are full up at this club. Someone with your years of experience should be somewhere good.
Do you have more info/resume you could send me (if you want to?) My inbox here is full, so please send to my email if you do. I'll ask my husband and see if he knows anything I don't.
Too bad the Exotic Dancer Boards are down..that was a great place to look.
Good Luck!

Absolutely, any help I can get, I'd appreciate. Right now, I am on the verge of filing for food stamps.... ok I wouldn't do that...but I'm close! I really got myself in a bind...and short of staying at the salvation Army/mission I need help with a connect....

Don't work for Paper Moon in Richmond unless you want to pay the club to work there. I know a guy who DJ'ed there and had to hand over more $$ than he would take home. The girls are not good about tipping the DJ either so not much chance of $$. Not to mention that they don't keep many employees very long.
I love Richmond but I wouldn't recomend it to a DJ looking to relocate.
